I hold similar opinions but opposite, as I’m even more of a boomer than Muffins and Hylands and everyone was so dismissive of the original Gameboy and I didn’t know a majority of the Nickelodeon shows they mentioned, even though I was a big fan of Nickelodeon.

Excuse me? I fought for the inclusion of the game boy pocket.

Is WC history really a thing? I'm all in for finding ways to add more players in the tournament

I'm thinking more in the past, there were definitely a few people who cared about which nations had the best medal history and all that.

We very well could just remove the condition and acknowledge it behind the scenes like before. That would happen rather than this condition becoming public.

    Okay but:

    1) Based on gustav's response to my initial post in here, the commishes were not informed in private either. Unless you mean 'like before' as just between the GMs.

    2) The rules say conditions need to be explicitly stated, and the mention of tagging a commissioner makes it clear this is meant to be done publicly.

I don't mean to make a big deal out of this, but like it's right there in the rules. You can't just go back to doing it how it used to be done because you want to.

Worst-case scenario where a GM leaves and is completely unreachable for info on the deal? There's still one other GM with access to the convo who knows exactly what the condition was and can submit proof. Unrealistic super-worst-case scenario where both GMs do that? It's very likely that everyone forgets that there's a condition at that point.

I understand what you're saying, and I would agree with it if it were actually the league's responsibility to enforce conditions...which it isn't. If down the road, Thing X happens and I hit up Rayz telling him he has to do the thing and he tells me to go take a hike, the official league response (from what I understand) would basically just be "that sucks, not our problem." It would be a really bad look for him, but as the league has taken the stance that it's a GM responsibility, it would also technically be perfectly legal.

I meant to say "If no one knows what the condition is and you and Helsinki's GM step down". As far as the scenario of two people dropping off the face of the earth at an inopportune time, sure it's not likely but it's possible, at which point I was arguing that at least blues should be made aware of the conditions in private but now that peace pulled up the rule it looks like it probably should be stated in public, yeah.

I'd argue not when it's not the league's responsibility to enforce them--technically GMs could agree upon a condition and then never post it in the thread and follow through/not follow through on it as they wish. It carries exactly the same legality/official-ness as posting it in any capacity because it's a GM thing to keep track of whether or not conditions are obeyed.

Even if it's a question of staying within the rules, all is good here. You or any commish are 100% welcome to message me for more info as to what specifically this is and why I chose not to say everything about it in public.

Although any condition doesn't maybe need to be made public, I'd argue the blues or maybe someone more active has to be made aware of the conditions for the purposes of enforcement. If no one knows what the condition is and you or Helsinki's GM step down in the next couple weeks, who is in place and knows the original terms enough to force enforcement?1

  6. I like the idea from a functionality standpoint, makes for a higher quality tournament and lets more people play. I don't love it from a historical standpoint but I'm not one that really cares about world cup history or the tournament in general. :P

You were bidding against Seattle fyi, and I'm surprised that trade went through as my NTC was in place. I was not asked if i was going to sign with you and somehow bana was allowed to talk to me yet you weren't.  That whole situation made me very uncomfortable and pressured, FA is tough enough choosing between many good options  and I do realize I was spoiled for choice but  i also work my ass off to be a desirable player and I don't need my reputation getting any blacker over things I honestly had zero control over.  for your sake i kept on hoping you would ask to talk to me, but i couldn't reach out and tell you to ask for perms to talk to me without risking you getting hit for tampering  anyways. Honestly idk what i was suppose to do, i was screwed if i did anything but sign with you. Maybe that is on me, but trust me I didn't enjoy process any more than you did.

Tbf I didn't ask for permission to talk to you at all beforehand, figured it would have been pointless to ask for what I was trying to trade for, for free. I would hope bana asked for that permission if he did end up reaching out before the deal.

I guess I'm sorry for putting you in that position. I would've preferred to find out that you were so uncomfortable with it in any of the times we talked about it during negotiations or the few times we talked about it after rather than in public, but that's whatever. I don't look at the deal as anything more than a risky move that had an ultimately undesirable outcome for me anyways, if other GMs wanna look at it as a cautionary tale against trading for rights that's on them.

Have a good one and enjoy Prague blade

Got to love how "Warsawing" is a verb now... literally if Muff had asked he would have been told that I was going to FA and determined  to  make my decision on based on my experience. I could have  allowed myself to be pressured into a signing, and yes i could have saved them, but I'm not sure how that makes me a risk. I am nothing if not brutally honest.

I didn't sign off on that definition of getting Warsaw'd. The official definition is outshooting your opponent by 20+ and still losing, something we're pretty fond of doing.

I wouldn't have been allowed to ask you before the trade obviously because that would have been tampering. And Poptart had no reason to divulge that information because it removed the entirety of the team's leverage in a bidding war. The only thing that would've kept the value in your rights was the worry that you'd sign with helsinki no matter what and for all I knew, they were who I was bidding against.

EDIT: Also you know I said at least 5 times in our negotiations that while there was inherent pressure to sign with Warsaw after I gave up what I did, I wanted you to feel as unpressured as possible and make the right choice for yourself. So don't imply I tried to put pressure on you, that's simply not accurate.

To everyone that contributed to this franchise's history during my time running the team, big or small, thank you. To the players that have been here for a long time, that have battled for this team and been patient through some tough exits, this is the culmination of those efforts. And of course I can't forget to mention @dasboot who spent a long time as a great player and AGM for the team (definitely a much better AGM than @New Member Guide), your name goes on this one too bud.
