  1. Looking at the current HOF players as well as those around Kellinger's area in terms of PPG that are also not in the HOF, looks like there is a solid explanation for everyone in and around his PPG range for why they'd be in over him (they played defenseman, they had a lot more hits, they played in the more spread-out modern era, etc.). However, for long-term ballot entries, I do feel like now is a pretty good time for Holik considering there's Hogan and no slam-dunk second candidate. Maybe I'm a sucker for peripheral second level goalie stats, but those 88 shutouts are pretty sexy. Among comparable goalies (in terms of save percentage which imo is the best indicator that isolates a goalie's quality of play), the only goalies in his stratosphere that played at least 7 seasons are Torstein Ironside (worth some more consideration imo for the .925 and a Shaw in S58, although doesn't have something big like 2nd all time in shutouts) and Ariel Weinstein (who doesn't have any awards and is already a couple points lower in save percentage, 8th all time in shutouts at 71 but that's not enough strength in the periphery numbers imo to boost his case into legit contention). I feel like this is a good chance to get someone in who has long been on the ballot but not quite had the chance to get in, and by looking at Holik versus all goalies and Kellinger versus all skaters, even though Holik had some overlap with some of the better goalies of all time there isn't really a direct comparison of era and performance that leaves him in the dust and his performance feels like it scales better to historical relevance than Kellinger.

My other vote goes to Hogan pretty easily, he's due his HOF spot imo.

Lastly, if you're considering me for builder, I am of course honored but want to be 100% transparent: in my ~3 season run as a VHLM commish, I did some work to help Bana get the start of one season organized and then largely did nothing. I did tell him I wanted to be his backup and for him to let me know if he needed help which he never really did before firing me, but I honestly did nothing at all on the job and thus it shouldn't really weigh at all positively on anyone's consideration of my position as a builder. If you think I deserve it off the merit of my 1 HOFer, my Warsaw GM tenure, and my general presence in the league over time, then vote for me. I'd personally vote for CowboyInAmerica, Josh, or Solas (was in the builder discussion last year but not this year) before I vote for myself. :)

  2. Almost every good team that has bought over the past few seasons has ended up worse for wear after the fact. Only exceptions I can think of are Malmo this season (who really needed that defensive upgrade) and Chicago when they added Winter a few seasons ago. Warsaw somehow lost over 10 shots a game going from regressed Gino Digiannantonio to Chris Hylands a few seasons ago, and recovered a bit but not all the way when Hylands switched to D and muffbeav switched to forward.

  3. I wouldn't say the league has been less active, although with recruitment having been largely cut off the past few seasons there aren't as many new people coming in so maybe the league's a little more splintered. Everybody getting tired of everybody else's shit, you know?

This season's been really competitive and interesting to follow though. All 8 NA teams were competing for a playoff spot until Toronto decided to sell, and the EU is almost as competitive as well.

I just noticed the little bits of tape over the rory and hylands pfps on the show cover, does that imply there were two other hosts first and muff replaced them with this cast??

It's actually because they changed their discord pfps.

Hot take: spongebob minor characters is a too niche a tier list category. Should’ve had “Dr Spongebob” Ferk on to save you guys. Anyone I don’t know or you couldn’t convince me to love (“THE HASH SLINGER!”), instant F tier

Yeah it felt like a topic we could be entertaining with but it's still relatively niche. Hard to find a good tier list out there.

Z does have a track record of this (I think @Enorama pointed this out before?), which worries me slightly for the VHLE (I think we currently have 1 concept from both him and Kaleeb for each franchise, although a few are pretty much the OG concepts).

Rory has been able to find logos that are almost 100% similar for just about every 'original' logo zetterberg has made. Also I believe this one (or maybe just the first version of it) was made by kaleeb, not zetterberg.

So do we have to move him to D if he’s been drafted in VHFL already @Domg5?

Mind you this was before VHFL became as organized as it is but I'm pretty sure I remember there being a scenario a few seasons ago where a few players switched positions while drafts were still going on and they were kept at their initial drafted positions. Don't remember when this was though, probably late 60s sometime.

  7. I couldn't have been happier going into A Red Guy's career to have a first gen goalie in my draft class to compete against that took to the league so well and so quickly. Bernard's presence helped keep me motivated on ARG and now your awesome accomplishments see you take your rightful place in the Hall of Fame. Couldn't have happened to a better dude, big congrats @Mr_Hatter!

Oh yeah congrats to @Beketov too!

rip. Despite never hitting over a PPG, a solid 6 seasons. Im pretty sure I retired correctly so that he plays next season, so should be 7 seasons. Thanks Muff for drafting me ❤️ .

Most underrated player in the VHL during your time. Thank you again for your service sid :salutecolbert:
