In this edition we will be breaking down a trade that took place in Season 72 between the Vancouver Wolves and the Moscow Menace. Majority of the trades happen on Moscow’s side therefore it will be broken down trade by trade. The original trade was the Moscow Menace sending Right Winger Mat Tocco (@Matmenzinger) to the Vancouver Wolves for Left Winger Kazimir Komarov (@Gooningitup) and Right Winger Ryo Yamazuki II (@Donno100). Tocco was drafted 31st overall by the Menace in the Season 66 draft. After being traded, he went on to score 58 goals and 76 assists for 134 points in 116 games before retiring. That is where the Vancouver side of the trade ends. On the Moscow side, Kazimir Komarov was drafted 26th overall by the Wolves in Season 71, he never made it into the VHL and retired after 3 seasons in the VHLM. Ryo Yamazuki II was acquired by the Wolves in a trade with the New York Americans in Season 72, he only played 2 games with the Wolves before being traded to the Menace. The other pick Moscow acquired was the S78 LDN 3rd which they traded to the Riga Reign in exchange for the S79 RIG 2nd and Defensemen Dolant Fertitta. Warsaw drafted Right Winger Fredric Salo (@Infernal) 30th overall and he is currently playing in the VHLM. With Moscow in 1st place in their conference it looks like the S82 MOS 1st will be close to the end of the first round. The Menace drafted Left Winger Nico Pearce (@Spartan) 10th overall in Season 81. He is currently playing his first season in Moscow with 26 goals and 26 assists for 52 points in 61 games so far. That is the end of the trade tree, here is a summary of the transactions: *Note: Not all stats are shown. Only post-trade stats are shown of relevant teams. Moscow clearly made the most of the assets they acquired from Vancouver. Players in green are still on the VHL team that acquired them, the players in red are currently playing for the Moscow Menace, players in orange are currently playing in the VHLE, the players in blue are currently playing the in VHLM, and players on black are either retired, a free agent, or are not currently playing for any teams. Vancouver has no assets left from this trade and only ended up with 1 player whereas Moscow still has 4 active players and 2 prospects left from this trade. This is an obvious win for Moscow even though they ended up sending more assets they still came out on top of Vancouver by a long shot. Let me know what you think, who was the winner? What was the biggest and best asset Moscow acquired? If there is a trade you want me to break down next let me know!
