Devise 4,475 Posted September 27, 2017 Share Posted September 27, 2017 Good day VHL. I just wanted to update you on some changes to the Point Task system that will be effective immediately. We have always been flexible as it relates to the posting of your point tasks in a given week. This includes allowing extensions, and point tasks to be done in advance. After some healthy discussion, we've come up with a new ruleset that we feel will allow those doing PT's even more flexibility, as it relates to earning points in a given week, or even a month. We are now formally allowing a months worth of PT's (4) to be posted in advance. This applies to Media Spots, Graphics and Podcasts. We are also allowing even more flexibility as it relates to Media Spots. Effectively every 500 words of a M-Spot counts as a single weeks worth of PT. This means users have several types of M-Spots they can post in a given month. The new breakdowns are as follows: Four 500 word M-Spots One 1000, Two 500 word M-Spots Two 1000 word M-Spots One 2000 word M-Spot Note that you can still only still claim one PT per week, regardless of the length of your media spot. In instances where you create a longer media spot, to claim just link the same PT in your update as required. A lazy hedgehog is satisfied. Yeah we realized that some people can get in creative ruts, it happens to the best of us. And sometimes you also get into good creative zones. Which means for Media Spot people maybe they land on a topic they really dig and ended up writing 2100 words on it. It's silly that we would then ask them to post another PT the next week to claim. This also helps us just in general depending on peoples free time. Sometimes during a season someone is free for a few weeks, but less for the last half of a month. This way they can freely bang out up to 4 PT's as comfortable, and not have to stress about their free time working out in a given month. From 6 TPE to 8 for example Discussion as it relates to TPE caps is still something that is on the docket to get discussion around to determine a consensus. Given we have a few new ways coming up of earning TPE, especially this new reviewing formula. I'd be more inclined to just increase the cap of users who do a PT every week, from 9 to something higher. If you require an extension, you can always PM a Blue and we'll likely work with you to make sure you can earn the missed points. The issue with making it retroactive as a rule is then someone could not show up for a month, and then drop 4 PT at the end of the month or one 2000 word PT and claim it for the last 4 weeks they were gone. Which is something I don't think we want to do. It's not to reward you for missing PT's, it's to allow you the flexibility to prepare for the time you can't do one. If you know in advance that your going to be gone for any period of time, drop more PT's or a longer MS beforehand, when you have the time.
