He's going to take in Los Angeles for the first time. Maybe find a place to have a nice cold glass of water and play some board games.

I'm not sure how Art Vandelay did this season, but I have no doubt that Gus absolutely shit the bed in all the things he wished to accomplish this season.

 

5. Where should IR look to bolster our roster

His best bet would be to dig for the dregs of New York and pick up the defenceman that they don't need anymore. Should be a battle of playoff runners-up!

1. We look to be navigating Free Agency well with the acquisitiion of Poopy Peepants! How do you feel about Free Agency this year? 
A lot of great talent but why do we need get this Poopy person? I am honestly disappointed in this decision - this Peepants lad better perform. 

2. The draft is coming up, if you're answering before are there any prospects you like? If after, how do you like the newbies! 
I respect only one player - The Frenchman, I think he is a really strong and actually can compete with me in terms of presence on ice. Hope I can go and have a quality fight to assert my dominance soon.

3. Staying on the subject of the draft and rookies, management seems to give a blind eye to rookie hazing! Do you have any fun stories? 
Neah, I remember walking in Seattle LR after I got traded there from Helsinki and I had people gift me chocolates and flowers as I was the big talent on that team. 

4. Do you have a preferred jersey number? If so, why that number, if not, why don't you like numbers? 
Of course I have a jersey number - it is 17. There is only one number that matters. All the other numbers just look horrible on that jersey. 

5. The VHL has had a TON of players come in and out throughout its 80+ seasons, is there one player you feel you have modeled your build after in some way?

Yes. I like Sirdsvaldis Miglasķēms. I base myself on me, the legend of the VHL. I am the person to beat, I am the champion so why look at other weaklings.  

6. Finally, what's your prediction for how North America shakes out this year? 
LA Stars are going to win it all, that is all I can say. There is nothing else really there to comment on.

on my first day I had to do a painting and then sit in a minivan for a long time. It was called the Art Van Delay

I felt washed up and unwanted, which I suppose is why I ended up where every wash-up does: California.

 

2. The draft is coming up, if you're answering before are there any prospects you like? If after, how do you like the newbies! 

Zack did a solid job with the n00bz! He managed to make the most of his picks and got a lot of consistent welfare earners. Traverse in particular has lots of upside!

 

3. Staying on the subject of the draft and rookies, management seems to give a blind eye to rookie hazing! Do you have any fun stories? 

When I was a rookie in Davos, Taro Tsujimoto did some of his signature shibari on me, put me in a shopping cart with skis on it, and sent me down a run in the Swiss Alps. It was a gas.

 

4. Do you have a preferred jersey number? If so, why that number, if not, why don't you like numbers? 

I've always worn 69, because I was told by my friends that it's a nice number, and I'm a nice guy. My manager Jardy always took 10 for himself and his clients though, so I'm a bit of an exception I think.

 

5. The VHL has had a TON of players come in and out throughout its 80+ seasons, is there one player you feel you have modeled your build after in some way? 

I always wanted to be like David Henman, maybe even better, but I was never able to come close to achieving what he did. Still, it's good enough to set goals!

 

6. Finally, what's your prediction for how North America shakes out this year? 

It's tough to say, North America looks even more competitive than it did last season (maybe I should have signed in Europe...). Toronto looks primed to be at the bottom of the conference again, and I think us and New York are going to have a tough time scoring goals again. Seattle is a bit of a wild card. The Dragons will regress somewhat, and I think Calgary will finish top of the conference. I think we'll be on the playoff bubble, but anyone who makes it into playoffs in NA has a chance to win it all.

1. I'm willing to think that my player will get around 35-40 pts this season. I just looked at the trajectory my player seems to be going at. 

2. I'm not really sure. I think New York would probably be a solid bet

3. I wish I did! Most of my folks are from Alaska so that would be a very long and expensive trip.

4. I'm certain we can get at least 35 wins. Our roster is pretty solid and the new additions should help us out considerably

I reckon Poopy Peepants will finish with 73 points, just enough to beat his personal best!

 

2. Who is going to win North America this season, and do you think they bring home the continental cup too?

I predict Calgary is going to finish at the top of the NA Conference, they have a more well-rounded roster than their competition.

 

3. Do you have any family or friends in the audience for tonight's opening games? 

My entire family of course attended the season opener. That's my mother, my father, my four sisters, and my two brothers.

 

4. We play 72 games, how many wins do you think we can get to and why? 

We're off to a rocky start, so I reckon we'll end the season around 34 wins. That's kind of the playoff bubble range, which we fit into/maybe slightly under without another elite forward!

 

5. While the VHL pay is great, plenty of players are sponsored off the ice, is there any brand that you'd like to have an endorsement deal with? 

It would be dope if Eatmore chocolate bars sponsored me. It would be fitting because the bars look like turds, and my name is Poopy.

 

6. Is there something you worked on this offseason that you look forward to displaying? Maybe this is skating, checking, scoring, etc. How do you feel like this will help when the puck drops? 

I completely reshuffled my game around this offseason to work on my Scoring and Strength in particular. I'm hoping this will give me more confidence with the puck, and ultimately have us spend more time in the offensive zone.

1. I think I'll get 48 points on the season.

2. I think Calgary manage to snatch up NA but don't think they win the Cup I think EU will take the cup this season.

3. No unfortunately due to scheduling they will all just be watching at home.

4. I think we will finish with 35-32-5 as our final record just hope we turn this ship around.

6. I want to score some goals this season which should help the team a bit as scoring goals helps you win games.

I need to have at least 90 to feel satisfied with this season. I am actually feeling like I have the ability to lead this team to playoffs but it needs to happen with a huge bang and right now.

We will. It is that easy. If we won't, I am gonna have to work double hard to make it happen or find a place where I can do that.

3. Do you have any family or friends in the audience for tonight's opening games? 
Nope. My family doesn't support me and they are right to do so. I am a monster, I don't deserve people cheering.

4. We play 72 games, how many wins do you think we can get to and why? 
I feel strongly about 45 to 48 wins. Sure, there is still long way to go to achieve that but I have full faith on achieving that.

5. While the VHL pay is great, plenty of players are sponsored off the ice, is there any brand that you'd like to have an endorsement deal with? 
Yeah, I have been eyeing that general sponsor of Bratislava Watchmen - Viking Brandy. It is quite amazing. I drink it every time before I go onto ice. 

6. Is there something you worked on this offseason that you look forward to displaying? Maybe this is skating, checking, scoring, etc. How do you feel like this will help when the puck drops? 
The only thing I really worked on was my ability to speak with media. I truly hate this but I just have to fight through it.

1. It's not about an increase of scoring it's about making Vandelay do more haha.

2. Defence isn't an issue Murray and his band of Misfits are incredible

5. Beach is great if you're staying there I don't like a short swim at the beach as it's a lot of work. And sand gets everywhere.

Not really sure what to do, it is clear that the team is incredibly demoralized and I am just unable to play the game I am capable at playing. We are in a very sad point.

As a forward and PP specialist, I am not 100% sure but I guess we need to make sure we don't give the puck away too much - that usually is the problem!

It has to be the great name of Bradley Buzzer. Also a great player. Has to be the best combo ever.

Hah, that is a weakling talk right there - you better have to figure out a way how to make sure we punish the opponents more and destroy their mental state - all them absolute snowflakes can't take a good beating!

I don't swim, I only skate! Swimming is for all the lovers and poets not for warriors.

The more satisfying is where you go and actually controbute to a win. Win is a win.

The REAL solution would have been not to sign such a defensive liability in Poopy Peepants. The defence should improve immensely next season once he retires.

I gotta go with Scoish Velociraptor Maloish because the reference is out of control and I think velociraptors are dope.

They could put points into Discipline and/or fewer points into Checking. But naturally the solution would be to trade and/or waive their asses.

I suppose technically the pool is the ideal to swim, if you purely just want to go swimming. But I prefer the beach, because it's in the sun, and you could very easily die, and that's exciting.

Certainly 10-0, because then we can pad the stats of everyone on the team!

2. Vinny Detroit was acquired in a trade deal from Davos, many analysts have talked about this deal as a win-win situation for both teams. Do you agree with that assesment, what is your opinion on this trade?
3. Art Vandelay and Callum Murray were both seen going to a dinner with GM of Prague Phantoms. Do you think this is an early atempt to start recruiting both players to join Prague Phantoms in 2 seasons when their contracts end?
4. Looking back at a disappointing season for LA Stars, do you believe the team has what it takes to get back into playoffs with the team that is assembled?

LA Stars fan club recently came out with a statement that even though S86 was not the season they expected to see, they have full confidence in the ability of the management team to get this team back in order. How important is the support from fans and how does it influence you mentally in preperation for the next season?

I wasn't with the team last season so I'm not taking that attitude with me, I definitely believe we can be a playoff team.

LA Stars fan club recently came out with a statement that even though S86 was not the season they expected to see, they have full confidence in the ability of the management team to get this team back in order. How important is the support from fans and how does it influence you mentally in preperation for the next season?

 

It's nice to know that LA has a great fanbase, but I'm internally motivated to do well this year. 

6. With off-season just starting, there is an idea for all Stars players to spend a week together outside of the hockey world and get to know one another more - do you plan to attend to and do you have a suggestion on what you all should be doing during that time? 

Cabin retreat! Or maybe a destination trip to somewhere warm

1. I felt that our GM got some great players with the picks we had. 

2. I can understand where they come from in that regard. On paper we have a very strong team, but for some reason we aren't executing. The worst position a team can be in is one where they're not living up to expectations but they don't really know why or how to fix it. 

3. Sirdsvaldis Miglasķēms has always been the type of guy that would sing that part. I'm not dissing him or anything, he just seems like a goofy kind of guy.

4. It's really disappointing to hear that. We're really trying to get better. This group of guys works their tails off every night.

5. Scoish Velociraptor Maloish always seemed like captain material to me. Fantastic player, tough as nails, gives 100% every night, he seems to fit the bill to me.

6. Whoever we can get, honestly. I have a feeling that some players want to stay far away from our team given our record, but hopefully the guys that can see that we're building something here in LA will tag along.

1. I liked the players we picked up , our first round pick addressed a position of need aswell

2. I can see where they’re coming from but at the same time with all the talent we have if we can put it all together there’s no reason we can’t exceed expectations and be successful this season!

4. It’s disappointing to hear , as a player on this team I can see how hard everyone works and how bad everyone wants our team to succeed as a whole . I feel like we have a lot of people to prove wrong this season !

5. I’d probably have to say Callum Murray @Berocka he’s a great leader on and off the ice , and a huge presence in the locker room

6. I feel like an additional defenceman would benefit us huge , but anyone who can help make the team better would be a good addition

1. I think we did well and got a few diamonds but it will take a few seasons to truly know how we went.

2. I don't think we are truly weak I think we just went through a weak patch and everyone looked down on us.

3. Easily Detroit, he is a tough bloke on the ice but off it is a huge marshmallow.

4. I think surely there have to be weaker teams around, I dare any one of them to play us in hockey we would win easily

5. It has to be Vinny I would follow that man anywhere he went

1. I think we did a great job of securing our future of the team. Of course, it might take a while but the long term will payoff.

2. I don't think the team is at the weakest point. We have a great core of players with really bad luck it seems. I think our defense is a bit short but we can do some damage.

3. Hmm, I would have to listen to both of their singing. I'd say Vinny just to chirp the new guy

4. It hurts. Not going to sugar coat it. We try out best every night on the ice and it doesn't end well. If people really think that, I'd like for them to put on a pair of skates and give it a shot.

5. I think it's a mix between Murray or Sirdsvaldis. Either one would be a great choice.

6. We need defensemen badly. Maloish and Murray can't hold down the fort all game. We need help.
