  6. To be fair, how sure are we that @Frank would have sent the PM to put him on the roster anyways?
  7. Thumbs up to R&M! Heads up in case you didn't know, the season started for real now, 3.2 just aired Sunday... And enjoy GoT, running through it at once is long, at this point it's up to ~63 hours and there's a lot of material, but it's super enjoyable and probably better to do it at one time than waiting for each season to start. @Beketov
  8. I remember that fight, watching on tv and not knowing what happened right away, then seeing Orr call for help immediately. I'm not a proponent of taking fighting out of hockey, but that was scary to see.
  9. Damnit @Corco, just for putting me in the 2nd tier, I'm gonna be the top drafted Dman in S57! but yeah, I'm pretty sure that the top 5 in this draft is already close to the top 5 in the s56 draft, in terms of TPE (aside from McAllister)
  10. Annnnnddddddd...we're on a roll
  11. Closer than you'd like, but we'll take the W
  12. VHL World Junior Tournament about to begin Rosters filled with rookies and draft prospects set to face off in tournament setting With the conclusion of the VHL and VHLM playoffs, members, and those soon to be, of the VHLPA are gearing up for yet more hockey. The first ever VHL World Junior Tournament is set to take the stage, on the 10th anniversary of the league's inception. Fans are lining up to get tickets to this once in a lifetime event, with a chance to see not only the best rookies of the past season, with players like John Locke, Fredinamijs Krigars, and Marc-Alexandre Leblanc, but also top prospects like Rusty Trombone, Bo Boeser, Gabriel McAllister, and so many more! In turn, players are just as excited, with Swedish born Team Europe defenceman Mats Johnsson stating that he's "as excited for a tournament as I've ever been! A chance to show teams my skill is a great opportunity!" And now that I've hit 150 words with that quote, I'm ending this article.
  13. Johnsson at the center of controversy VHLM Semi-Finals delayed because of Swedish defenceman Oslo, NORWAY - The VHLM's finals are over, just as soon as they started, with the Saskatoon Wild sweeping away the Las Vegas Aces. While this series was surely entertaining, at least to the fans of one side, its victor will likely not be remembered as the main plot to this year's playoffs. No, that dubious distinction will likely go to the goings on of the Semi-Final round, where a delay in paperwork being filed caused the league to postpone the 7th, and deciding, game of the series between Oslo and Las Vegas. The reason for this rare postponement of a game? Mats Johnsson! The Swedish defender joined the league's top team, the Oslo Storm, right before the playoffs, supposedly in time to participate in their run for the Founder Cup. However, due to clerical error from the league's secretary, his contract was not put through to the league offices, and thus, he was deemed ineligible for the S55 VHLM Playoffs. Normally, this would be an understandable occurrence, as Johnsson was unable to dress for any regular season games, he was deemed ineligible to join the team's playoff roster. However, nothing about this situation was normal, as no less than 3 players who signed on the same day as Johnsson, as well as 2 others who signed just days prior, were added to the Las Vegas roster. Johnsson, understandably frustrated with the situation, took to questioning league officials, as well as his own GM, wondering why he was not being dressed, even after collecting his paycheque from Oslo - the league went so far as to bar him from the team's Locker Room! However, after his initial frustrations, Johnsson left the team to focus on training for the upcoming World Junior tournament, accepting his fate that he would not participate in official VHLM games until S56 kicks off. "It didn't make sense to me. I signed before the regular season ended, I practiced with the team, I put in a lot of work. When I was told I couldn't dress for the regular season, I figured it was fine, the league is just putting paperwork through, I'll play after the Wild Card round finished. But then I still wasn't allowed even to enter the Locker Room! But I figured, why cause problems? I've played pro for nearly a decade, waiting for next season won't kill me - and I still got to keep the money, so hey!" - Mats Johnsson For his part, Oslo GM Bushito was not happy. After privately trying to work with the league to get Johnsson dressed for the early games of the series, his tipping point was seeing his first place Oslo being pushed to the brink of elimination. Upon the completion of game 6, he would not allow the league to drop the puck for game 7 until Johnsson's paperwork was put through, and he be allowed to dress for the final game! "It's bullshit! They've got 3 guys who signed after Mats did, why the hell are they on the ice if he isn't? At this point, we can't re-start the series, but at least getting him into game 7 is better than playing it without him." - Bushito Unfortunately for Oslo, the final game did not go as planned. the Aces scored an early goal, that ended up being the difference, as they would go on to secure their spot in the finals against a superior Saskatoon Wild team, netting a late EN goal to win 2-0 over the Storm. We will never know what could have gone differently had Johnsson been allowed to dress for the first 6 games of the series, and that dark mark will definitely overshadow what turned out to be less than stellar final between Vegas and Saskatoon. For their part, Johnsson and Bushito were gracious in defeat, saying that they got what they wanted in having him dress for game 7, and will have to deal with the results. Now, Johnsson will focus solely on the World Juniors, before being drafted in the VHLM Entry Draft and playing his VHL Draft season.

  17. You use the same thread. Once the updater updates your player page, make a new post in the same thread and keep going.
  18. Boner - Johnsson 2nd pair tbh @Corco
  19. Personally, it's not about being updated. Even with 30 TPE, I would have been better than a CPU D-man, and I signed before Szat did, which is why it was confusing that the new signings got added for other teams, but I wasn't added to the sim. I can understand @Bushito being pissed, especially if it was a commissioner error (Way to go @Frank), because it is an unfair disadvantage to play shorthanded when you've done pretty much everything you were supposed to (except add me to the LR, but that's a different issue :P). I can also understand the sentiment from others saying one player wouldn't make a difference. At the end of the day, you never really know what would have changed. Assuming rosters were as they were supposed to be for Game 1, it's possible either team would already be through to the Finals. Either way, there's really no right answer, if there's a re-sim and Oslo wins, Vegas will have gripes, and it will probably fuck up the other series and playoff scoring. If there's no re-sim, Oslo clearly has gripes, and they'd continue into the finals if there was a win. Hell, if there's a re-sim with rosters updated, which I'm sure Vegas would push for, then is that fair to the other teams who didn't get updated before the playoffs started? Whatever decision @Higgins makes, I just hope it comes sooner, rather than later. At this point, getting this series, and then the finals, finished and into the off-season is probably more important than which team is getting screwed worse in this deal.
