19 active players. At 8 teams you have enough active players for a little more then 2 rounds. Which is pretty good. I remember some drafts where the end of the 2nd round would be already inactive. So this draft has that going for it. Another thing it has going for it is top end talent. 
 
Twinger will be over 300 practice hours even before the draft. Palo will be above 250, that's pretty nuts if you think about it. Not to long ago that this draft looked like a complete dud. It not only is not a dud, it's actually well rounded... Well if you are looking for a goalie, you may get into a who can get Havenk before someone else in the late 1st to early 2nd round. Hell since there is such a lack of goalies in this draft I can see Havenk even jump up in the draft. So maybe top 3 to 5? I don't know. It's a guessing game.
 
This draft is clearly a dream draft for forwards. If you want to build around a forward you can go with any of the top three, you want to depth? well you have  an ass load of talent to pick from. D is not to be overlooked int he draft because Kovalchuck will amass over 200 hours before the draft, Baxter continues his climb which may even see him sneak into the 1st round and not forgotten in all this is Saint who not like his name is not a Saint. But he is a damn good hockey player and I feel if he keeps it up maybe the steal of the draft. Why? Because to that point you have the big boys on top of the tower. Then your core is strong with darts game of guys that you can wildly throw not going for accuracy and still hit a gem but Saint is in the latter end of the core guys. He is... well the base of this draft and if you have a strong base you will fucking have a strong tower. 
 
From base to tip you have a rock solid draft. Yes I know that sounds like I am talking of cock. Sue me. Till next time, Fuck off.

Well! today I will take wild guesses and stabs in the dark at what really happens around here while I am not around. This should be fun and 100% not accurate. 
 
1. The disappearance of @TheLastOlympian07 this homo seems to have lost all interest to the league. I don't blame him for leaving, but I also find myself angry at him. I was supposed to leave before him, but yet I sit here about to embark on my final player tour and he is gone. Gone to the land of the living. Where things are actually real. Why did he leave? I believe he left because one day he woke up, scratched his balls as he yawned and said to himself "god damn i'm a man! and I should do manly things." So he set out on a manly adventure... Well what he thought was a manly adventure. Well it was not. He went camping. Alone. Which led to crying alone. Which led to thinking about how his life went on a odd left turn. After all these sad things he cannot bring himself back because he cannot come up with a good enough lie as to where the fuck he went. Pretty sad bud. Sad indeed. I shake my head at you.
 
2. @Ahma We all know that Ahma has not been active around here since the disappearance of his lizard. (Pause in remembrance) I SAID PAUSE! have you no heart? fuck you then! Anyways! I've talked to the finnish fuck a few times here and there when we both are on or he leaves me a message and I respond in a week and so on. Anyways the point is that we've talked... He claims he is more active in another online league. So I sent my Robbie Spy's out to see if this is true. Not only is it true, but he is also a clown in Finnland. Yes, you read that right. He is a clown at a circus. His act was lizard juggling till his prized lizard ran away because of poor food and cage conditions. This spiraled Ahma out of control and he blamed the VHL for him not looking after his prized lizard. He looks down at this league. He rather go to a shittier league because it does not remind him of the lizard that got away.
 
3. Kendrick Retirement. Yes I did not tag him because if you tag him 3 times he will reappear and I do not want to be the first one to do it. Then i will be blamed for him coming back. Anyways. I believe he left in a fit of rage because his wife wanted him to fiddle her pleasure button. He said all he needed was the buttons on his keyboard. She threatened to buy a vibrator which effectively would kill their sex life if he did not hag up the key board and paid attention to her needs. So he staged a freak out and retired.

Time for GM change in Vegas

First off don’t fucking judge me. It’s the first rankings of the S62 draft, if you don’t like it, well then read the others. I cannot and will not be bothered to do one of these every week because some weeks only minimal points are earned. I also will not be ranking anyone that is not earning points or has not updated. That seems stupid and filled with extra work that I do not have time for.

Having said that I would like to point out that last draft seemed like more of a well-rounded draft. Is it better than the last draft? LOL! NO! But it has more forward depth which I like. This one seems like it’s loaded with forward talents and not much else other than one okay D and maybe a goalie. So if you are looking to add offense this is your draft.
 
Left Wingers lead the way with Twinger the consensus 1st overall pick and I will agree with that. For now. You hen have Mulligan and Slipher in the top four. That’s pretty strong for the left side. Way better than the last draft.
 
Palo and Revchenko help down the middle but the latter is leaps and bounds behind. This is not the draft where teams should be looking for center depth but its way better than the right side that has no one other than Davis and King which is really sad.
 
You are smiling if you need a goalie… That’s if you get the only good one in the draft. Beyond Carison you are picking guys that will never make your team even as a backup. You might as well just not pick them.
All this may sound like that I am ragging on this draft for not being good. Well… I am, it really shows no depth beyond the top five picks. Beyond that you are scratching your head at each pick. With this season drawing to a close soonish you would think you would see higher TPE numbers and I’m just not seeing that. I am legit bored by this draft and it’s no wonder that I waited this long to rank it. It’s almost like I knew it was going to suck so I stalled on my job. Boo fucking hoo.

So this week and the final week for this draft class the list shrinks. Why? Because the people who are gone off the list are gone off the site/are inactive. I will not keep looking into their stagnant numbers and putting more work into this then I really need to and want to.

Now I need to get this list in and a mock draft before the draft starts tonight. I have zero idea when that is and I have zero intention to find out. Sure you can go off my pick by pick break on the side but eh I shall bust out a mock so I can milk this draft for one more payday.
 
Some people say that Gate will go first and I don’t think that is. Beketov is the best player in this draft by a long shot. Seattle needs everything right now. They can get a D later in the draft with their? 4th pick? But they cannot get another franchise forward. Thompson is the best player and that’s not no knock at Cast, it’s just fact.
 
Now since this is not a mock draft I will not break this down all the way. All that I will say is that this draft has gone from shit to something you can get great value well into the mid 2nd round. That is if you pick wisely. Kovalev and Jokinen are great guys but will they really offer you great depth for a cup run? That is a question a GM should be asking themselves tonight at the draft.
 
Another question asked tonight is with the later D picks teams that are better-rounded will be picking. Instead of drafting a boom/bust player you can maybe go out and sign Ko Kane to help you win a cup now and not the future. But there are lots of doubts he leaves Davos.
 
Goalie wise yes some teams need them, hell lots a teams need them but I get the feeling that the goalies will drop in this draft. While teams need them they also have massive glaring holes. With better players on the board they will go for them. Once it gets to the tipping point where they will be the best players on the board teams will start to consider to pick them over project players.
 
This draft is truly a paint by numbers masterpiece (is there such thing?) anyways… let me tell you why. You get your good forwards that are let’s say green… if you start with the first few guys you don’t really see a huge difference in the hue of the green. But then you hit a shitty green when you get into the 2nd round and find that it’s slim pickings. Same thing goes for the goalies after the top two, you are pretty much fucking fucked. If you are using…let’s say Pink for the goalies you do not want to be using blue after the top two. Trust me blue is not pink. Just ask a girl if blue pussy lips is a good thing or not. Hint it’s not.

Myth/Birth

Orion’s birth is a thing of legend. No seriously actual myth and legend. Some people say that he came from space and landed in Alice Springs Australia. Where exactly did he come from? Well these people say that Orion came from Planet 9. The planet that you no one can find. Why? Because apparently they have a force field around the planet making it invisible. Planet 9 is apparently the true home to his father Poseidon and mother Euryale. Planet 9 is said to be a water world. Now if you think about it, you are a god. You live on a water world you can freeze that water and play hockey. Hypothetically speaking that is. This is if that whole myth is true.

Other theories are that Orion was born during the Egyptian Empire and has taken on many different forms. Forms of Ramesses II, Caesar, Alexander the Great, Christopher Columbus, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Patton. Within between years of him just living everyday life as people that are lesser known in history. Is Orion the next great name in history? Does he know what buried at Oak Island? If he does maybe he should tell those guys on that show.

But the theory we will go with right now is that Orion was born to Gina and Todd Slade in Alice Springs Australia. Now this childhood was an odd one because he lived in a shitty drug infested town of Alice Springs. Let me tell you there was not much to do in Alice Springs other than cause mischief. That he did. He got in trouble in school and with the law. So much so that Mr. Slade told his family that they will be moving back to his home country of USA.

So they moved to Las Vegas. What exactly Mr. Slade was thinking moving his demon of a son to Vegas is the cause for another story. Once Orion arrived in Vegas he got a lot worse. Since he was not allowed in casinos he started his own underground casino chain. Which quickly earned him a large fortune. When the FBI found out about the racket he was running they came to shut it down. When in court the judge and opposing council were said to be freaked out by young Orion. Something about an odd energy coming off him. He was let go because they could not make charges stick. But some believe it was they feared him. How grown ass men can fear an eight year old, I will never know.
 
Hockey

But this was the final straw from Mr. Slade he sent his self-made millionaire son to military school hoping that this will change his son. Well… it didn’t. If the rumors were true that he was all these historically great leaders he sure showed it off at the school. He made other kids scared. People followed him out of sheer fucking fear. Teachers and drill sergeants didn’t want to cross him. Till one day Orion discovered hockey. A sport that he can act the way he wanted and make people fear him all across the game. Not pshyically, oh no. He really must have lived all those lives because he adapted the mentality “the best defense is a strong offense.”
 
How strong? Well let’s put it this way. The kid was a natural hockey player. How natural? He scored 8 goals. He went on to score 44 that season in just 22 games. He added 23 helpers. He arrived in the hockey world and people just couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Not even his coaches could believe it.
 
The next year his father seeing the potential in his son sent him to Canada to learn the fundamentals of hockey. Well Orion did not learn much in Canada. Why? Because he didn’t give a rats ass about learning about it. He did not want to know how to be a good sport. He would constantly laugh at players who were hurt. He would agitate the opposing teams by skating by their benches laughing and telling them all that they suck. Think Sean Avery but a million times better and annoying. Kids wanted to slash his head off. So much so that one game a kid named Joey Fisher slashed Orion in the back of the neck. Orion spun around after not even moving from the slash. All Orion had to do is stare Joey in the eyes for a mere moment. That was all, Joey never played a game of hockey ever again. When asked what was said during that altercation all he could say was “Nothing, I don’t know what you speak of” almost out of fear that Orion would return.
 
Future

Now that Orion is older his goal totals and overall point totals are just staggering. Since the age of 8 he has scored over 400 goals and 700 points. That’s 6 years guys. That’s over 100 points per year of hockey. It is said that his team mates if they receive a pass from him would instantly pass it back. Almost like they are scared they will fuck it up and not score so they give it back to Orion. No one really knows where this will go. But as of right now Orion is the top rated prospect going into the OHL draft. Teams are said to be interested in his rare talent but are scared by the attitude he brings. They are also worried how the other players on the team would react to playing with him. But that fear is offset by the fear they would have playing him.
 
In Closing
To close this out I would like to point out that Orion is the hunter. He is feared because of his great aim. He has the power to walk on water because of his father Poseidon. Think about it, walking on water. Skating is gliding on frozen water.  If any of these things are true, the hockey world might be in for something they have never ever witnessed. You should be scared. Very scared. If I was a goalie I would most likely making a position change. Or at least faking an injury when my team plays his.  This kid does not fuck around.
