  2. Review: Bio is a little bit short, you need to write about 200ish more words. It is a great start though, I enjoyed reading it and looking forward to the updated bio. Maybe flesh out the university piece or the early childhood to get the complete total. Throw in a couple more pictures and you will be good to go! Glad to have you on San Diego!
  3. Review: Great Bio, covers most of his childhood and growing up. Was a very good read! Bio looks great with the pictures. My suggestion would be maybe to spread them out a little more? You have 3 at the beginning and then nothing for the last 4-5 paragraphs.
  4. +10 Greg Eagles (once current PTE get approved)
  5. Greg Eagles received some good news from his GM last week that he will be the teams starting goalie. There were rumours that when San Diego acquired a second goalie, that the team maybe had other plans for the goaltending position. We caught up with Eagles to see what he had to say about the new goalie acquisition and what that means for his role on the team. "It's all fake rumours, Knox was brought in to help me out, I can't play all the games" said Eagles " I also enjoy the competition and Knox seems like a great guy. I am more then happy to have him on our team. The media always takes things out of context and blows it up" We will now have to wait to see who is correct, the media or Eagles. In my opinion all signs point to Eagles being correct in this. San Diego is looking to make some waves in their first inaugural season in the VHLM and the team has been heavily practicing in anticipation of the upcoming season. The team looks very solid in all positions and in depth.

  7. 1. What did it feel like experiencing the VHLM Draft? Do you feel like you went where expected? Higher? Lower? It was a great experience, I definitely went higher then I expected. Most fantasy drafts had me in the 3rd round. 2. What are your expectations for the Marlins first ever season in the league? I am hoping that our team makes the playoffs in our inaugural season. I think we have the talent to do it! 3. Who do you think had the best draft? Not to be biased but I do think our team had the best draft. GM did a great job putting together a very solid team. We are solid in every position 4. Which team do you think will be the Marlins biggest season rivals? I think it will be Vegas just based on location. Going to be some tough games against them 5. How do you think your player will do on the team? I think he will do pretty well as a rookie. He still has a lot to learn but I think he is going in the right direction! 6. Who do you think the Marlins "top player" will be? You? Someone else? We have a solid team and we all have to work together to win games. There is definitely a few standout players but in the end, in order to win we have to play with a team mentality
  8. Player Name: Greg Eagles VHL/VHLM Team: San Diego Marlins Cash you have: 1.5M Purchase Name: 'The First Generation' Cost of Purchase: 500K Cash Left: 1M
  9. The San Diego Marlins GM walks up to the podium and announces...." With the 15th overall pick the San Diego Marlins Select from Wroclaw,Poland Greg Eagles" The music plays, The San Diego fans cheer, the spotlight was on Greg and he was on his phone?? Still sitting in his seat, not reacting to the fact he was just selected. "ummm, was the mic not on, Greg? We just announced you as the 15th pick for San Diego and our first ever goalie in franchise history" Greg finally heard his name, threw down his phone, hugged his family and made his way up to the podium. He apologized to everyone waiting as he was not expecting to go so early in the draft and misheard what name was being called. This is not the greatest start to Greg's career as first impressions mean a lot but he has promised the San Diego organization that they did not make a mistake in using the pick on him.
  10. Review: The font is big on desktop format making it hard to read. I also only see 732 words, Biographies should be 1000+, I would also throw in some pictures. The biography itself is well written. Maybe add some more history as to what happened after high school and how he decided on the VHL over some of the other leagues? Looking forward to the update! Well done!
  11. Review: Love the Micheal Scott references and pictures. Best show ever! The Bio was interesting and had a lot of interesting facts. My suggestion would be in the "turning point" section of the biography, maybe break up those paragraphs a little bit, they run together and doesn't make it easy to read.
  12. Review: Great biography! I was laughing throughout reading it all, one of the more creative ones I have read so far! Don't think I have ever known anyone from an opposing team to enter the locker room for a speech Great length, great progression from childhood into where Zoiderberg is now. The only thing that would make this bio even that much greater is if you would have added some pictures. All in all great work and keep it up!
  13. GREG EAGLES GETS DRAFTED Greg Eagles Hello Readers, New Sreportski back for another weekly article. Today we will be focusing on the VHLM draft. Our weekly focus, Greg Eagles, was taken in the 2nd round as the 15th overall pick and the 4th goalie to go in the draft. Many scouts had Eagles ranked as one of the top goalie coming out of Europe but Greg was still generally unproven and was not garnishing hardly any interest from VHL or VHLM clubs. In fact, only three teams in the VHLM held a pre-draft interview with him when he first announced that he was going to play in the VHLM. Those teams were Mississauga, Mexico City and Philedelphia. All three teams would not select Eagles. In an interview with Wroclaw Times after the draft, Eagles jokingly commented “those were apparently not good interviews.” When San Diego came up on the board, Eagles was not even paying attention and had to be called up twice. " I was shocked my name was called and I just didn't react when it was first called" Eagles said. InstantRockstar giving an interview on drafting Eagles "He was one of the better goaltenders in the draft with a huge upside and we wanted to take him a little bit earlier as to not lose a chance at having a great goaltender for our team," said Marlins general manager @InstantRockstar. "We're building an organization from scratch and we wanted a good young goaltender. We have that in Eagles and he will be our starter this season, we have faith in him" Eagles, a six-foot-one goalie from Wroclaw, Poland has been called a cross between Martin Brodeur and Carey Price because of his laid-back personality off the ice and tenacity under pressure on the ice. In mock draft's he was being taken later in the 3rd round but the Marlins surprised everyone and took him early. " I am grateful for the faith shown in me by the Marlins, I was surprised going so early in the second round but I know the GM made a great choice. They will not regret it" The Marlins made some other great picks in the draft and should be able to compete this year in the VHLM. Greg's goal is to make the playoffs and he is very confident in the teams ability. " I look at the team that was drafted and there is great potential if we play to our best ability. We have solid 2 lines of forwards and some great defenders on the back end. We are all making history here as we will be the first ever players playing on the Marlins. It is exciting and we have a lot to prove. Our GM did a great job in the draft and we as a team have full faith in him to lead us into a playoff hunt. I can't wait for the pre-season to start!" Eagles said as we wrapped up the interview. San Diego Marlins on the ice for the first time From a hockey analyst review I tend to agree with Eagles, even though the Marlins are a new team, the other teams should not take them lightly. It will be an exciting season in the VHLM and you can count on the Wroclaw Times to be there following every step of Eagles and his new team the San Diego Marlins. Until next time! New Sreportski
  14. Borrowing from Blade, even though im not a reaper 1-If you got stuck in the elevator and was forced to listen to only one song, which would it be? Easy one for me, it would be Exploration of Space by Cosmic Gate. Great tune, check it out! 3-What is the best advice anyone has ever given you? One of the best advice I received was from my first ever manager, paraphrasing a little bit but it was: Every person you meet is a potential door to a new opportunity, build good bridges and connections everywhere you go because you never know how they’ll weave into your life in the future 4-If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Definitely Poland as that is where I grew up, currently living in Canada but in the future (maybe in retirement) I want to go back and live there 7-If you could jump into a pool full of something, what would it be? Skittles! It might hurt jumping in but damn are they delicious! 9-What’s your favorite Disney movie? Well not that Disney owns Star Wars, my fav Disney movie would be any of the original Star Wars! 10-If you could keep any animal as a pet, what would you choose? I would say a Koala. There is just something about them that I think would make them a great pet or even a Panda!
  15. Great article, I always love mock drafts! Hoping to go a bit higher then 3rd round (Greg Eagles) but to me it doesn't matter where I go. I am super active and alright at 75tpe after just starting last week in this league. Hoping to max tpe every week! Looking forward to the draft tomorrow!

  17. Review: Really enjoyed readings this. Quotes made the article that much more authentic and it made the article read like a real biography. Use of pictures and small text underneath was also great and gives the reader some extra information. I liked reading about the Faroe Islands and brought context to where the player grew up. Well done!
  18. Review: Great Biography, enjoyed the story of being from a small rural area in Canada. I also like the fact he started off as a defense man and then switched it up to being a goalie. Only constructive feedback I could give is maybe have the pictures centered for a better read. Other then that great article with a great backstory! Best of luck to you in the VHLM draft!
  19. Review: Definitely would have been better with pictures. Have you tried using the [/img] tags? I think maybe a pop of color would have been nice as well but that's just me. Definitely an interesting bio with the early tragedies of Aleksander's siblings. Was also nice to see you listing pro/con but that could have been saved for your rookie profile! All in all great article and a great insight into his background.
  20. Review: Great biography. I would have centered the pictures in the article so that it would flow easier and be easier to read. Also adding spacing between the pictures and paragraph. Other then that job well done! Enjoyed reading this especially about AJ going pro to help with family finances. Great to see some quotes in the story as well, makes the article more realistic!
  21. ONE DRAFT, THREE GOALIES VHLM teams preparing for the draft Hi Everyone, New Sreportski back again with another weekly article in the Wroclaw Times as we follow Greg Eagles career in the VHL and VHLM. Today's article will focus on the upcoming VHLM draft, goalie scouting and the 3 top goalie prospects. In my opinion goalies have always been the hardest position to evaluate and to scout for future potential. All around the world in hockey leagues the highest drafted goalie doesn't always end up being the best one down the road. Each scout and team have their own opinions on what makes a good goalie. Goalies also take the longest to develop then other positional players and hit their peaks much later on. This usually means that teams end up taking goalies late in the draft. The 3 goalies in our article today are hoping to upset those odds and all are hoping to be picked in the first round. It will be interesting to see this year where the top 3 goalies will land and we have put together some information on them below. Wrike Chernobyl Wrike is expected to be the top drafted goalie in the VHLM draft Wrike is predicted to be the first goalie taken off the board. Wrike has lightning-quik reflexes, great glove and a never-give-up attitude which is great for such a young goalie. At only 16 years old, he is making waves for himself. If there was one flaw to his game it would be that he is prone to over-correcting and putting himself in awkward situations. He also does not stand out in any one ability as he is average in all abilities across the board. The questions scouts have is will he end up being average throughout his career or will he be able to stand out in a group of great goalies. These bad habits though be easily be fixed with time and as he matures. Chenobyl definitely has the potential to be an elite VHL goaltender but has some more development ahead to reach his full potential. At the time of writing this article, Wrike is the most skilled goalie out of the 3 and has a bright future ahead of him. Rayz Funk Amazing potential and the predicted #2 goalie in the draft Rayz is another great goalie prospect who has been wowing scouts. The prediction is that Rayz will be the second goalie taken on the board. Rayz is probably the most similar to Eagles as they both have excellent rebound control. Rayz is rated higher to Eagles due to Funk declaring for the draft earlier and having more time to show his skills to the scouts. Rayz does not seem to have a downside to his game as he is solid in all aspects with Rebound control and reaction time being his highest assets. On the downside, he can cost his team with bad penalties which is rare for a goalie. Rayz temper is high and is prone to slashing opposing players when they get in his crease. If Rayz can manage his discipline he may end up being the top goaltender to come out of this draft. Time will tell what the scouts think but we at the Wroclaw Times believe that he will be a great goalie of the future for any team that selects him. Greg Eagles Eagles putting in some work for the scouts Our main goalie who we are following and a note to our readers that we may be a little bit bias with our Greg Eagles description here but at least we are up front about it! Greg has had a later start then the other 2 goalies as he just recently declared for the draft. Even in his short time he has been making waves around the league by being active and making sure he is showcasing his skills to visiting scouts. His top quality will be his rebound control and skating. He has had a solid junior and college career to date. Our prediction is that he will be the goalie that GM's would regret not taking earlier. He may not be quite there in skill compared to the other 2 goalies but his future potential seems to be the best out of the 3. What the scouts and gm's in the draft have to decide now is do they want skill right away or do they want a goalie that has the potential to be one of the best in a few seasons. For downside, Eagles does need to work on his glove hand but with the determination he has shown early, you can be assured he will make sure his glove hand is solid. The draft is to be held next Sunday and we here at Wroclaw Times are excited to see where these young gentleman will go. We will be rooting for Greg and hope he gets drafted high. Until next time to our loyal readers! New Sreportski
  22. The VHLM draft is getting closer and prospect Greg Eagles has been seen putting in extra hours in the practice rink to showcase his skills to visiting scouts. " I know goalies usually don't go high in the draft but I am hoping to change that. I am putting in the extra time and showing these scouts exactly what I can do and how they can't go wrong with taking me early. I entered the draft a little late and I know some other players have a head start but these scouts shouldn't sleep on my potential. I am always training, always working hard and will end up being the best goalie to come out of this draft!" With 3 good goalies in the upcoming VHLM draft and with Greg getting a late start on the draft, it is still to be seen if Greg can jump past the other 2 goalies in the draft. Will the scouts see his future potential or will they take the best skilled players available at the time of the draft? Stay tuned as League GM and Scouts are going to be making their picks soon and that is when we will find out where Greg Eagles will go in the VHLM draft
  23. What VHL team logo do you like best? I like the Moscow Menace logo, the gold crown just pops and it is one of my favorite out of the logos here in the VHL What VHLM team do you want to be drafted by? To me it doesn't matter what team drafts me as I will be giving 110% to any team that drafts me. If I really had to choose I would pick Mississauga as I had the most interaction with their GM and it would be very interesting to start with an expansion team. Is your player a blonde, brunette or redhead? Brunette but very hard to tell since my head is always shaved Weirdest thing in your hockey bag? Can of Pringles as you never know when you will need a snack and need to keep your hands grease free! Colored tape for your stick, totally yes or absolute no? why? Not for me, as a goalie this does not matter to me. I have always used black tape and will be sticking with that. Funniest thing about your player? I don't know if its funny about me but I am always pranking my team-mates and trying to make everyone laugh. I think this helps with team bonding and to have a better locker room culture! What is your goal/ fight song? As a goalie, I definitely do not have a goal/fight song as I tend to stay away from those things. If I had to choose though, I would say Cosmic Gate - Exploration of Space

  25. Hello Readers! My name is New Sreporterski and I have a great new series lined up for you today. Wroclaw Times has been granted exclusive rights to follow upcoming goalie superstar Greg Eagles. With these rights we will be following Greg throughout his career in the VHL. Expect to see articles, interviews, off-ice drama and anything else Greg Eagles related. For our first piece we will be starting off with an interview with the one and only Greg Eagles to see what he is feeling heading into the VHLM draft. NS = New Sreporterski GE = Greg Eagles NS: Hi Greg, Thank you for giving us exclusive access to your journey and taking the time to meed with me today GE: No problem New, Wroclaw is where I grew up and it is where I got my start in Hockey so I believe this was the best choice NS: How have your first couple days been in the VHL? GE: So far it has been great, I have had my Biography and Rookie profile completed already by some great scouts and reports. As well the league has been very welcoming NS: Do you think there is any extra pressure on you knowing that your father was in the league back in 2008? GE: I don't think there is any extra pressure. That was a long time ago. I am here just to play my own game and show everyone how good I am. I think the only pressure is coming from you media guys. NS: *Chuckles* Maybe so but it is not the media bringing this up, a lot of your friends and colleagues have also been mentioning this but let's move on. Your most recent scouting report showed that you have amazing rebound control, agility and skating which is great for a goalie, but it also shown you have a weak glove. What do you intend to do to fix this weakness? GE: Interesting question New. The scouting report did mention my weak glove but I don't really think that is a weakness. I believe they thought it was weak because I would catch and drop the puck to get it right back into play. I am not a fan of freezing the puck unless I have to. Keeping the play moving and doing a quik transition I think benefits my team and has worked throughout my hockey career. NS: That's interesting and we will see how that pans out in a professional league. I also read your biography and was surprised that for almost 3 years of your college life you did not play any hockey, do you think this might have set you back 3 years of training? GE: Well New, I was a kid and I didn't want to play hockey 24/7. I preferred cars and girls and lost the spark to play hockey. As you know though, something happened late into my 3rd year and I was called back into action which resparked my joy for hockey. Looking back now maybe I shouldn't have taken 3 years off but I believe everything happens for a reason. I do not believe it has set me back, I believe it has made me a stronger person and a stronger goaltender NS: Have you had any discussions with teams yet or know maybe who will be drafting you in the VHLM dispersal draft? GE: I don't know yet who will be choosing me yet but I effeminately have had some great conversations with a couple expansion teams such as Mississauga and Mexico City NS: Do you have any team preference for the VHLM? GE: No preference, I just want to start playing. I do think that maybe starting with an expansion team would be my ideal choice as you get to write a brand new history and start setting records with the team since it will be there first year. In the end though I will be happy with wherever I go and give 100% to the team that drafts me NS: Anything you would like to say to the scouts or gm's of the VHLM? GE: All that I would like to say is that no matter who drafts me, they will not regret it. I will be giving it 110%, training hard every day and making sure I grow as a player. I intend to be one of the top goalies in this league NS: Thank you for your time today Greg and look forward to speaking with you again soon GE: Thanks New, Look forward to it. As everyone can see with this interview, Greg Eagles is excited to get going and has promised to be one of the top goalies in the league. We will all have to wait and see how he turns out but so far he is looking like a can't miss prospect. Until Next time! New Sreporterski
