Spence King reacted to Joshothegreat in Josho The Great Starts The Season!
It was not the result that the Ottawa Lynx were looking for in their first 2 games. An opening 8-2 loss to the Reapers and then followed that up with 7-4 loss to the Halifax 21st. But it was many firsts for many young players on the Ottawa team. Including 6th round draft pick Josho. Earlier in the season we asked Josho what his expectations were for the upcoming season and he said " I hope I can do every part for my team to be successful and win games". That definitely wasn't the case in game number 1 against the Reapers. The entire Ottawa team looked lost against one of the top teams in the league and Josho did struggle through most parts of the first game.

    Joshooo 0 0 0 -4 0 4 2 0 0 0 2/4 25:18 3:23 0:00
With a minus 4 rating and no points scored it was not the game that Josho was hoping for but he did play 25 minutes during the game which shows that the team does have confidence in what he can do. When asked about his performance he said " For sure I was nervous at first but as the game went on I really thought that I was hitting my stride late in the 3rd period but at that point it was to late obviously".  Josho gave his team mates praise for the game they played and not giving up even when being down by so much. But game 2 for the team as a whole was much better especially for Josho.

                                  Josho  2 1 3 0 0 8 0 0 0 0 1/2 26:22 0:52 0:00
Game 2 was much closer for sure with a score of 7-4 and Josho was the best player for the Lynx that game hands down. with 2 goals and 3 points Josho really showed his true potential and what he can do in this league on any given night, he also logged 26 minutes of ice time just a minute more than the first game. Speaking with Josho he was very happy in the effort the entire team put it. When asked if he was happy to score his first goals and points of the season he said " Well of course I was happy to score my first goal but I am not worried about that right now, I am just worried about with getting back to practice working with the group and coming out even stronger next game. It is all about this team to me and I was really proud of the group and what we were able to do out there".

This Ottawa team is going to have some growing pains for sure because of how young of a group they are but they will be an exciting team to watch for sure. They take to the ice for the next game tomorrow 7ET against the Miami be sure to check out this great young team!

Spence King reacted to diacope in If the VHL had EA Sports-like ratings..
As of right now updates are still going in and people are going to be earning more in the future but I wanted to take a look at the current scoring, defense and goaltending ratings in the VHL, they are the most important skills and dictate possible outcomes without even seeing a sim, going to fit the goaltenders in with it and see how it turns out. Hopefully I can elaborate to the best of my ability on what I mean by this and give you an EA-like hype for the new season! Alrighty.. To the numbers.

Well that's it, your S76 VHL team power ranking right now, sure stuff will change a lot during the season but it's interesting to see the teams broken down with the main attributes to see who really stands at the top of the leaderboard. Good luck this season everybody! Looks like we have a lot of teams very close so it could be anybody's championship. Thanks for tuning in all the way through or just checked out your teams standing.. Bye

1.) Rookies, rookies everywhere... no seriously we have like 6 Kate Upton, Dan Dan,Victor Foles, Vick Fairchild, Gustav Hjalmarsson and Case Crosby. Vets say hi to our amazing rookies and give them your best VHL advice. Rookies tell us who you are most excited to play with.
I am most excited to play with Dan Dan since our builds are very different and will lead to great chemistry and, hopefully, success.
2.) Considering the draft is coming up, who do you think @Jubo07 and @BladeMaiden should have their eyes on in the draft  and why?
I would highly doubt that we will be able to select him but Kristof Welch is a rockstar. We played together in Yukon and he immediately started earning TPE and was a great force in the locker room.
3.) What are you looking forward to most this season?
I am most looking forward to seeing how I stack up against the rest of the VHL in my first season. It's the good type of nervous energy. I would hate to be a liability and I think my 2-way/playmaking style should limit exposure to the downsides in my game.
4.) Do you work out in the off season, if not what do you do during your time off?
I was lucky enough to be selected to the WJC but the best thing to do in the offseason is the Victory ProAm. Anyone who isn't participating is missing out!
9.) Who would you steal a snack off of in our Locker Room (LR) and why?
I would steak a snack off of PatrikLaine because he seems like the type of person who would have a great stash of candy.
11.) I hear someone almost failed their physical, who was it and what was the reason?
Caboose failed his physical because he showed up to the wrong building. Suprisingly enough, they gave him a physical at the wrong location anyways....we are still waiting on results.

Perhaps more important than ever, the Titans captaincy squad will take on the role of welcoming six rookies to the Titans lineup this season. A team vote was held over the last few days to decide who would dawn a letter on their jersey. The vote was close, thus we will have a captain and three assistants named this time around.

Spence King reacted to bigAL in Groovy Dood the Vet
It's the offseason after S75, and we find Groovy Dood in his happy place, reflecting on the career that was and will be.

It's been a rough few weeks diary. Everything that's happened so far has come with a but.

We got hot at the right time to make it to the playoffs, but it only happened once I took a backseat in scoring.

We had a cinderella run to the Continental Cup Finals, but I played like shit.

I was nominated for the Boulet, but I didn't get a single vote.

But, but, but, that's going to change. This is my team now.

Sure, I was a rookie these past few seasons, but I wasn't a damn wallflower. I wasn't top line material, but I was carrying a hawt second line for the last two seasons. I wasn't a leader in the room, but I was watching legends like Benny Graves, Guy Lesieur, and Lance Flowers be leaders. With those three in a room, there's not much air left for the rest of us. So I watched and bided my time.

But now, Lance is gone. Benny and Guy are inches away from getting put in a home. X shit talked me one too many times and is on his way out. I didn't like the cut of Willis' jib and now he's on waivers. I'm done my rookie contract, and I'm done being a rookie. It's Dood o'clock in DC.

I got moved up to the first line in the playoffs, and I don't ever plan on dropping lower than that. I'm the best forward on the team by a mile and management knows it. Now, the expectation is that I add some more bite to my bark. I've started leading off-season workouts with some guys like Ove and some of the prospects, just to remind everyone who's in charge around here. It's a vets responsibility to teach the young'uns how to train, how to play, and how to live. They're going to learn the Dragon way: beer and bourbon are out, clear liquors only; smoking is awful for the lungs, so juuls and vaping hash oil only. Oh yeah, and the classic you're late if you're not early, and stretchiness is next to godliness.

GM did some retooling, but we have the pieces in place to become even more successful this season. We have the reigning goal scorer and the top goalie in the league. We got two experienced defensemen so far in the offseason. And now, Groovy Dood is ready to put these pieces together into something greather than the whole. It takes a guy who's seen some shit to overcome shit. I can't sit back and watch Benny Graves put up MVP numbers anymore. I can't be gliding on the back-check knowing Wolski is there to bail my ass out. By playing like a star who gives a shit, I teach the rest of the team what we expect in DC.

This is the year we put it all together. We had the leading goal scorer and 3 forwards in the top 15 scoring. We have the best goalie in the league. And now, we have Groovy Dood stepping up and taking ownership of the team. The failures of the S75 playoffs are mine, and I'm going to turn it around.

It's what a good veteran does.

Its really hard to believe this is already my third season in the VHL , and not to mention already 16 game into the season. After being drafted by Helsinki in S72 I really didn’t see myself nor do I think Jubo or anyone would have believed I would crack the S73 opening night roster only a season later. During my rookie season I was fortunate enough to learn and quickly what it takes to succeed at the pro level in the VHL and I cant say enough about Helsinki’s LR , the Vets are AMAZING and always make the whole team feel important , having played the opportunity to play on a roster during my first 179 games with a handful of legends with serious years of VHL experience to teach me everything and everything from players like Ben Hafkey, Erik Draven, Sam Ross , Jim Bob, Erik Summers, Seabass Perrin as well as Tony Bolonee. Throughout my first two seasons we have managed to have two extremely strong playoff runs winning consecutive European Cup Championship sweeps and two finals appearance giving me the most possible EX a player can earn both seasons since going pro and very proud of the 35 games played along with 9 goals 24 assists and 32 points nearing about a game during the playoffs along with 2 GWG from the point including a 2OT series clincher.

So after S73 as a Rookie I was the clear 3rd D on the HSK depth chart behind 3 and 4 year older Summers and Bolonee with over 100 TPE more than myself. Going into S74 and a solid rookie campaign. Leading the team in Shots Blocked as a rookie with 119, following that with 2nd on the team in goals by D with 14 Goals.

After the Titans history book S73 season with their franchise record win streak along with a European Cup Championship the titans made a huge offseason splash picking up VHL vet and one of the highest TPA Defence in the league Seabass Perrin. This set me back another rung on the depth chart after what I thought was earned my way above Tony as he ages and it would be myself behind star Summers, and 3rd Tony with Oh Sens coming in as a rookie after his strong training camp, however this  wasn’t the case and the stars aligned and everything happened for a reason and cant say how grateful I am to have played with Seabass. Now its S75 Elsby sits on the top 10 VHL Leaderboard for SB at #5 and in one less game played just 5 SBs behind the league leader. during the Helsinki Pre Season depth chart reveal I was listed as the Top defender… Spencer Elsby is also the 11th highest TPA Defence throughout the entire VHL.

3.Jimmy Spyro  had an amazing showing with two back to back shutouts , against Ria and Malmo, How does having a goalie of Spyro’s caliber impact the team ?
Having a stud in the net is always helpful.  I think our D-Core does it's best to prevent him having to make stops, but we know when they reach him he has it handled.

4.Egg nog or hell to the no?
I'm not sure tbh, I think I've only had it like once or twice several years ago.

5.)The IRL WJC are starting IRL what is your home country and who will you be cheering for?
My home is the USA so I obviously root for them.  I also enjoy rooting for Finland, so I am in bit of a predicament.

The best advise Su has given me is "give me (Su) the puck, and I'll make the magic happen".  So that's what I do, feed him the puck.

8.)Which Wolf has made the biggest improvements throughout the S75 season ?
King made huge gains this year, especially compared to last year.

Obviously has been a sucky part of life since it's spread, here's hoping life can return to normal soonish.
