Callahan got a reaction from Smarch in Callahan Jr's First 10 Games in the VHL
News Anchor Bob- "John Callahan Jr recently had his first 10 games in the VHL and we recently got to give him a quick interview after practice about how he thinks the team is doing and as well as his own individual performance. Now down rink side to our VHL reporter, Jim!"

Reporter Jim- "Thanks Bob, I'm here now with Callahan Jr after a hard and long practice. John, it's good to see you, first of all congrats on your first 10 games in the VHL, how does it feel being out in the big leagues playing alongside some of your favorite players growing up?"

Callahan Jr- " Ah, Jim, thank you. It feels amazing man I'm not going to lie. The first couple games I really needed to just relax and find my feet. I realized if I keep working hard, I can play with these guys and help the Legion bring back W's. But, it's pretty surreal I'm not going to lie, I can't believe I'm finally in the big leagues playing with all of these legends. It just seems like yesterday I was just starting out in Philly.

Reporter Jim- " I definitely see where you are coming from there, it's been a long time coming but its finally here. How do you think the team has played in the first 10 games of the season?"

Callahan Jr- " Well, Jim I gotta say the competition here is very intense, there's a lot of good teams here and I honestly don't know who could win the cup this year. It's definitely too early to tell. I do have to say I'm happy with the direction the Legion are going. We're loaded with younger talent who keep pushing themselves to be better every day. I'm excited for everyone to keep improving and see how we do during the rest of the season."

Reporter Jim- " Yeah, I have to agree John, the Legion are loaded with young talent and it will be interesting to see how the team will look in a season or two. Now as of your recent point streak you tallied 7 points in 10 games. How does it feel to actually be participating and helping your team get points on the board?'"

Callahan Jr- " It feels great, obviously, you know. I'm not going to lie I didn't think I would have 7 points in my first 10 games in the VHL but I'm here and willing to do anything the team needs me to do to help get wins. My teammates have really been pushing me to become better and it's been a great experience in Toronto so far even if our record isn't where we want it to be necessarily."

Reporter Jim- " That makes sense, John. It's been fun watching you play, but yeah, the competition in this league is much higher than the VHLM and you'll have to keep working hard to help the team succeed. Now, by the end of the season where do you see this team? In the playoffs, just missing it, or winning it all?"

Callahan Jr- "That's a tough one to think about right now Jim. I'm not going to lie the season could really go either way. All I know is I am full in on the Legion way and I'm looking forward to keep getting on the ice with these guys."

Reporter Jim- " I love that answer John. Well that about wraps it up for today but have a good rest of your week and I'll catch up with you later."

Callahan Jr- " Jim, thanks again. It's always a pleasure!"

Review: I see where you're heads at with this and it was a definitely an interesting read with a funny sarcastic undertone (sorry if it wasn't) but I could see 2 TPE going towards being named captain to your team and maybe 1 TPE for being named alternate. I did enjoy the gif of the bear scratching his back now that looked nice. 9/10!

Callahan got a reaction from Spence King in S75 Philadelphia Reapers Draft Review
Spence this was unbelievably written and you've been clearly doing this for a while. As I read through the entire draft review, I really couldn't find any mistakes (maybe a comma I missed) but seriously unreal review. I love how you went into complete detail with each draftee. Philly is looking incredibly tough this year and they have a helluva squad. 10/10

Callahan got a reaction from Juice in Post VHLM Season Interview with John Callahan Jr.
Right after the season ended with a tough loss to the Philadelphia Reapers in the VHLM Championship game, we got to sit down with John Callahan Jr to answer some questions on his first and only season in Mexico City.

Reporter: " John after that tough finals loss to the Philadelphia Reapers, the team that picked you up on waivers when you first entered the league, how are you taking this loss while seeing your old teammates hold up that glorious trophy?"

Callahan: Ah well it's tough you know, seeing a bunch of guys over there that I first played with hold up the cup, celebrating, and hugging each other. It's never easy thing to see especially when you're so close to winning it yourself. You know those guys played hard the whole series, even throughout the regular season they were the team to beat but when it mattered the most, they came out out top and got the W.

Reporter: " I bet that feeling is tough for sure. Now this was your last game in the VHLM and sadly it wasn't the outcome you hoped for, but did you enjoy your season in Mexico City? Is there anything you're going to miss or not miss?"

Callahan: I absolutely enjoyed my season in Mexico City, we had the best regular season record, I played with some fantastic guys, and the management of the team was great. I couldn't have asked for a better season. I put up the numbers I was hoping to put up to help contribute to the team during the regular season and as well as in the playoffs, I grew as a player in Mexico City and that is one thing I will never forget Mexico City for, they molded me into the player I know I can be. Oh man, of course there is going to be things that I will miss, playing on a line with probably the best RW in the VHLM ,Justin Lose who had a dominant season, and our coaching staff Hylands and Rory, they're great guys and really will do anything to help grow you as a player. Man, if there is anything, I won't miss it might be the water down in Mexico...I had one rough weekend with that and that's all I will say on that haha.

Reporter: " Haha yeah, John, don't worry we don't need to get into it with the water but I am wondering are you looking forward to flying up to Toronto and playing for the Legion? Is there any thing you're really excited about ?

Callahan: Absolutely! Are you kidding! First of all being drafted to the Legion was a surprise in itself. I had NO idea I was even on their draft radar and when I heard my name get called I went crazy! To get to play hockey in the world capital of hockey...that's unbelievable! I'm really excited about this new core of rookies that just got brought up, guys like Scotty Kaberle, Jolly Green Giant, man those are two tough SOB's, thank God I don't have to get checked by them anymore. Since we were all in the M last year and we all knew we were going to the Legion, I do think they took it a LITTLE bit easier on me, I mean look at Jolly, the dude is 6'8, 250, he kills people out there and Scotty is one of the best offensive defensemen in the league, they're nuts so to put on the same sweater as them in the big leagues it'll be a real fun ride!

Reporter: " I know those guys very well and I honestly think they did take it a little bit easier on you John haha. But I know we're scrapped for time and I just wanted to ask you one last question. How was playing for Team USA in the World Junior Championship?

Callahan: Oh man, so far, it's been the biggest honor of my hockey career so far. Who doesn't want to play for their country? Wearing the red, white, and blue and playing with the best upcoming guys in the league was a tremendous honor for me. Funny enough it was a lot of guys from Mexico City and Philadelphia but sadly we couldn't bring home any hardware and that's what made it a tough pill to swallow for sure. But overall an unbelievable experience and I had a blast representing my country.

Reporter: " It looked like you guys had a good time out there win or lose, but John, I just want to thank you again for your time and good luck with your upcoming season with the Legion!"

Callahan: Absolutely! I'm always here to chat and thank you! It should be a great experience!

Review: The writing was flawless and it was so cool to learn about some of my teammates that I'm still getting to know. I love how you incorporated stats and leadership qualities each player has. Being one of the rookies this upcoming season I am unbelievably excited to get it going! 10/10 !!

Callahan reacted to Juice in Kristof Welch - Rookie Experience
Going into any draft, you want to show that you are the best player available and go to a team that really values you and what you can provide.
Even with stiff competition that can be in front of you, you always want to strive to prove that you are worth a top pick.
And although there were some players that could have arguably been selected instead of him, in the S76 VHL Draft Kristof Welch was selected #5 Overall to the Toronto Legion.

While this might be surprising to some and not to others, Kristof Welch stood stunned that he could now call himself a top five draft choice and going to a team with a bright future in Toronto. It's not often you see someone come into the VHLM after the season already has started and really start to make a name for himself right away, however it's even more uncommon to see that player become a VHL team's top draft choice.

Going into his S76 season with the Yukon Rush after choosing his hometown team as the destination he wanted to play in, expectations were quite low as the Rush slotted him originally as a bottom pairing defenceman. However, Welch showed that he wasn't just any other waiver pickup. Through hard work and determination, Kristof Welch put in the work to slowly get his way to top pairing minutes on the Rush and end the season helping lead his team to the playoffs even as the team went into more of a rebuilding stage. Although he had a disappointing post-season, Welch's regular season success as well as development had him going into the VHL draft ranked as a top 10 pick, however with his very new status into the league there were some thoughts that he could slip out of that range.

Despite this, Welch continued to develop after the Rush's playoff exit in preparation for the VHL Draft. Not only to show that he is getting better, but to show that he is ready for the VHL sooner than later and is ready to log minutes for the VHL team that decides to take the chance on him. While some teams either did not have the space or need for Welch to make their roster, the Toronto Legion GM @Peacetold Kristof Welch that in his own plan that he would envision Welch also making the roster right away. With this shared goal, Kristof crossed his fingers that Toronto would use one of their high picks in the draft to select him, and the shock to hear over the livestream of the draft that he went fifth overall sent an entire lightning bolt of shock through him.

After the shock wore off, the talks with his new General Manager and his new teammates began immediately. However, the one thing that ran through Welch's mind was:
"I've just been drafted to Toronto. That means I'll be in the VHL next season."
This thought came through as the General Manager immediately had Welch sign his entry-level contract and informed him that, "Well, you made it kid. We're one step closer to dynasty."

Knowing that he will join the ranks as other top rookies like Scotty Kaberle @fromtheinsideand Jolly Greene Giant @DoktorFunkon the blue line means that Toronto will have a young defensive core that will stick together from day one, as well as Toronto's other top draft choice in the same draft Frank Funk Jr. @Rayzor_7and John Callahan Jr. @Callahanas rookie forwards, and finally Sirkants Klamasteris @hedgehog337as a young goaltender of the future, the Toronto Legion has an amazing youthful core of the future and are the blueprints of what could be a dynasty.

Although there is some obvious anxiety as although Welch wants to make the VHL right away to prove that he is ready and can handle the bright lights in Toronto, there is some expectations overall that he will have to be able to hold his own with harder competition compared to the VHLM as a second pairing option for the Legion right away, however even for himself there is personal expectations that he wants to show that out of all the defenseman drafted alongside him in the S76 Draft, that he is one of, if not, the best one that was drafted.

But as of right now, the only thing to look forward to is the upcoming training camp where he will see all his future Toronto Legion teammates in person for the first time all together as a squad as well as looking forward to the puck drop of his first VHL game of Welch's career.

Callahan got a reaction from DMaximus in S75 Philadelphia Reapers – The greatest VHLM team of all-time
Review: I have to say when it comes to Media Spots or any sort of writing Dmax you always bring the heat. You included thorough in-depth stats of your players from where they started to where they ended as Reapers. Back when I was a Reaper I was proud to play for a guy like you and I couldn't be happier (any squad besides MEX) won the VHLM championship! Again, this was a great read and I always look forward to what you have to say in this community! 10/10!

Season 75 was a different kind of season for Toronto, a rebuilding team with some good young talent, backed up by a star goalie. This Toronto team seemed like it was struggling to find its groove at times this season, but towards the end the group started to find their identity. It's also relevant to mention that this team was close to finding themselves in a wildcard spot towards the end of the season. But what else is there to say about this team? The only thing left is to show off the team.

    1. John Merrick @Steve
John really has a knack for scoring goals and winning games.
John Merrick finished with the most points in the league this season with 45 goals and 62 assists for 107 points.
This is coming off his already amazing rookie season where he scored 38 goals, and 46 assists for 84 points in his rookie year.
John Merrick absolutely has an amazing career in front of him with a lot of good talent on thus team to back him up.

    2. Oh Sens @osens
Another good sophomore season for Sens, finishing off with 39 goals and 43 assists for 82 points.
Sens really likes scoring goals, and he's directly on the wing with Merrick making the two of them a dangerous duo.
Sens was drafted 18th overall in season 73, and his contribution to the team is absolutely noticeable as well.
I'd say this first round pick was well worth it.

    3. Jaxx Hextall @ROOKIE745
Future hall of famer? Honestly maybe so.
Jaxx is an insanely good goaltender, this season putting up a 9.2 SV% with 30 wins this season.
A 30 win season is absolutely insane, and on a team that's supposed to be rebuilding and losing games, an incredible feat.
Hextall is currently one of my favorite VHL players of all time, I mean look at his past seasons.
His stats are insane, and potentially good enough to make HOF if he has just one more good season.
Hextall startes his career in Toronto, and that's where it looks like it'll come to a close as his retirement nears.
Regardless if he makes the HOF or not, this is a historical goaltender.

    4. Ziarie Anibogu @ngine4
A defenseman who can put up points and keep pucks out of the net with ease.
Ziarie just finished this season with 13 goals, 68 assists for 81 points.
Pretty damn good if you ask me, he also blocked 170 shots this season, with a +/- of +9
I think that Ziarie has a long career in front of him, and I look forward to season 76 with them on the top d pairing,

    5. Leo Strauss @gregreg
This stud has what it takes, he's got what makes you tough, he's got the stuff.
This kid is a STUD, top 5 in the rookie scoring this season, with 71 points.
Leo has it all, he's got the scoring touch, the playmaking, and the grit to back it all up.
Drafted in S74 40th overall, he's proven to be a massive steal in the draft.
I can't predict the future but look forward to a few triple digit point totals in the coming seasons.

That does it for today's article, I only looked at 5 players but they're some of the players that make this team what it is and what it can be soon. I'd like to give a few quick shoutouts to the other players I didn't mention, Jolly Greene Giant @DoktorFunk John Callahan Jr @Callahan Joseph Gainer @joegand a quick shout out to @Peace for his work in assembling this team, if he's able to keep it all together then this is a high octane team looking to dominate the ice this season. All I can say to the other teams this year is to watch out, it's Toronto's year.

1.) I think we do. We've been playing strong and we're 7 points ahead of Philly. I think we will be able to come out on top by the end of the regular season.
2.) Huge pickups. Shoutout to Hylands and Rory for bringing in two capped guys to help give us that final push into the playoffs that we need.
3.) Our depth is incredible. I'm having a blast playing on this team. It's been incredibly fun to see guys getting a lot of points that are not on the top two lines.
4.) HUGE. Kevin is a big time player making big time plays. He's basically becoming Bobby Orr
5.) I really hope I get a new iPhone with an international service plan because ever since being in Mexico, I've barely called my mom and she's pissed.
6.)I do like winter weather but being in Mexico City it doesn't snow so I miss that a little bit. It does make the holidays a little interesting without it for sure.

1.) I think were just a little tired. Christmas break is coming up and it'll be a good time to rest. We'll be back in shape in no time.
2.) Those are definitely going to be tough. Philly has a great squad these games are definitely going to decide who is in first place.
3.) Miami, ever since what happened in S74 they are absolute sleepers.
4.) Penne Pasta all the way. Maybe some garlic bread too.
5.) Naughty absolutely. You can get a way with a lot more things in Mexico than you can in the States.
6.) Throwing "reindeer food outside your front door so the reindeer have something to snack on when Santa is at your house."
