So that's how it ends... Thanks to everyone on the team. Not the result we wanted but I'm very happy with the core we had this season and i'm sorry that I couldn't get you guys a founder's cup. To make up for that, here's some little team awards. I wish the best for everyone on this team in the futur. I'll quote @McWolf here and say "We lost. It's sad. See you all next season, unless for those that go on different teams, then screw you, get vlg'd"
 
 
Basset Hound award ( Team MVP)  
Catia Goncalves @cLoWn & Dominik Kopecky @DustyMclaren
 
So in my first ever draft I moved up to 2nd overall to get Kopecky as my first every draft pick then, in the 2nd round my 2nd ever draft pick was... Catia Goncalves and well, I don't see how the 2 of them could have been better. Both were powerhouses in the M their duo was the heart of that team. Both were PPG 30 goals scorer with 86 and 84 points respectively. 
 
 
 Pitbull Award ( Defensive player of the season)

Now that's an easy one, the only d-man  that played the full 72 matches of the regular season. At one point, he was even the only d-men on the team. Overall, he had a strong season and our captain helped the team a lot. 
 
 
 Dashund Award ( best hidden gem of the season ) 
Gremlis Lielais @Anomalijs
 
Gremlis Lielais aka the Latvian Superstar was a waiver addition that we made at the start of the season. He was pretty active by times and brung a lot to the team despite always being one of the lower tpe on the team. We can all recall his hat-trick that was probably the most heart-warming moment of the Hounds season.

In the discord and the lr, a few members not related to the team currently are active. I wanted to recognize them with this award. I'd like to give Jason @Jason kranzan honorable mention. Actually, i'll give him lr permissions rn as his honorable mention gift. But for our favorite goat fashion stylist and icon of dyland the one and only Jean-Paul Goatier, he has been very active in our discord and his character has brung a lot of life and character to the team. Now, Sjin. I actually hate that guy but he's active so he gets the award. Luckily, this season didn't end with some weird notthingham drama.

With 153 penalty minutes howdy doody has a big lead on the 2nd Kopecky with 63. Fair to say the race was done before it even began

Sometimes, you need an heroic person to save you and well most of you guys know Matthew Boldy. Well here, we have Robert Boldy and he's just as good. Out of hhis 33 goals, 8 of them were game winning goals. No one is more clutch in this team then boldy. 
 
 
 
So here is the end of the first ever Hounds award ceremony. I'm pretty lazy today so I won't do anymore then that for this season. We'll see if i'll add more awards next season. Thanks to everyone who has been apart of our team this season and good luck in the future ! 
 
 

As the plane that i was on landed at the Pearson International Airport, my heart was racing, i was so excited to meet everybody. It was a new page to my hockey career. As i stepped off the plane i felt a cool Canadien breeze, it was super weird, i have never felt this way since it is my first time in Canada. I was greeted by the GM at the airport.

As i drove trough the streets of Mississauga i knew that this is gonna be the best place to persuit my dreams. It seemed like the perfect placeplace for me.
 
The next day i drove to the rink dressed up my gear and laced my skates. I met 
all of my teammates and had my first practice. When i oppened the front  doors everybody greeted me, it was great, everyone was super polite. In Latvia i never had this, most people are  always grumpy and inpolite there. I like it betterhere.
 
When i stepped on the ice everyone gave me tips and encouraged me, at that moment i understood the Missisauga hockey community is as passioned and suporrtive as i hoped. It was akward at first, but everyone was talking to me, trying to get to know me so it wasnt that bad.
 
 
After practice i spent  some time exploring the city. It's very vibrant here. Each neighbourhood with its own unique charm. The cultural scene captivated me. I attended a concert, went to a restourant. And i made some friends already.
 
About the team. I havent done much research about history so i don't know much. All i know is i like the team colours, the staff, and ofcourse my teammates.
 
The time i will be spending here, i will do my best i promise. I will work on my goals and ofcourse the dream - the VHL I hope i can contribute and progress well too. But i guess we will see that in the future. 
Off the ice, i have devoted my self to physical conditioning. I have pushed my body to the limits these past few days, i have been sweating through intense workouts that build strenght, endurance. I have worked on my agility aswell since i like to skate quick and fight my way towards the net.
In addition i have started to work on my mental aspect, i will sharpen my mental game. I have engaged in sports psychology lessons, i am learning techniques to enhance focus, concentration, and reisilience in high pressure situations.
 
My favorite club growing up was Riga, it still is. After the Hounds of course haha. It would be nice to play there some day, it has been a big inspiration for me since it is my home country club.

Anyways i'm really looking forward for the first game of the season. I will work really hard in this last period of the offseason and hopefully it will pay off. Its been very different these past few days, but surely i am gonna get used to this and everythings gonna be alright.

Season 88 Experience Points
 
Congratulations to all @Members for the completion of another successful VHL season, as well as to the London United for taking home their first Continental Cup. As always, with the season past, all VHL players have earned some more experience....
 
But wait, that's not all! Before I get into the usual yada yada I want to point out the rest of the title up there: Experience for VHLM & VHLE! The commish team and BOG have decided that the time is right to have the VHLM and VHLE receiving some experience as well. Now there's will not be as complicated or plentiful but it's still something. Anyone who participated in the VHLM or VHLE in S88 is eligible to claim 3 Experience Points.
 
Okay, moving into the rest of the post now.
 
How to Claim
Claim experience in the Player Management area by clicking the 'CLAIM UNCAPPED' button, select Off-Season, then select Experience from the dropdown. Enter the amount of Experience you are eligible for as described below and link to this thread.
 
Once approved, the Experience will be added directly to your player's experience attribute. You do not need to apply it yourself. 
 
NOTE: YOU CAN NOT CARRY OVER EXPERIENCE POINTS EARNED BY A RETIRED PLAYER ONTO A RECREATE

Partial VHL Season - 2 points (Less than 72 GP in VHL, unless due to a trade)
