BOOM reacted to STZ in Americans Active Early on in Off-Season
New York, New York.
After being eliminated in the Wild Card Round of the S92 Playoffs, The New York Americans wasted no time getting their ducks in line for the next season. They were outside a playoff spot at Trade Deadline when they made moves to acquire Alfred Champagne, Vinny Lecavalier, and Clueless Wallob. They were able to make a charge and make the playoffs, however fell short. Wallob and Malum Maellard both retired, so it left some holes in the roster, especially on defense. The New York Americans got busy, within the first two days of the off-season were able to make the following transactions:
Jasper Davis @Josh re-signs for one year contract extension New York Americans swap first round picks, in addition to sending 2 x 3rd Round Draft Picks to the Malmo Nighthawks to acquire Jebediah Big Ol Doinks in Amish @hylands Big Ol Doinks re-signs a three year contract extension CGY Janser @Daniel Janser re-signs a five year contract extension
Essentially days into the off-season the New York Americans have shored up their roster for S93. In addition to this, they made a statement that they are here for real. After what was an incredible rookie season 36W has earned his spot as the NYA starting goaltender, after re-signing a contract extension during the S92 season. The Americans still have a long way to go, and the North American Conference only got stronger. They are ready for a test, and GM Vince Wong is excited to get the season started to see his players get back in action.
Attention is now VHL Draft focused, where the Americans select at pick #11, after the pick swap with Malmo. After selecting Wayne Gretzky @MubbleFubbles last season, the Americans look to add on to the next wave of players that will help the team seasons into the future. They were ranked in the "bad" category for team's future in @badcolethetitan's surface level league outlook. New York has bolstered their roster without having to surrender a single 1st Round pick - both of their major deals included a pick swap. The Americans have put a emphasis on quality vs. quantity, and are ready to prove that they are not going to flame out any time soon.

BOOM reacted to Frank in Wolves Acquire Left Alone from the Menace
On the first day of the off-season Vancouver signed their goaltender of the future Dalkr Vidarsson @KaleebtheMighty to a long term contract. Some Wolves players namely Riley Martin @Smarch thought that Vidarsson gave in too easily during negotiations and left significant money on the table. A fact that the VHLPA is sure to investigate. The second move of the day came in acquiring star forward Left Alone @okochastar from the Moscow Menace. Alone has spent 5 of his 6 seasons with the Menace and now will spend the final two of his career in Vancouver where he will look to lead a young Wolves squad make the leap into contention. After putting up back to back 90 point seasons, Vancouver is banking on a strong finish to Left Alone's career, hoping for team and individual success in their final two seasons.
Also worth noting Vancouver will be icing 6 rookies this season as all of Logan Ninefingers @Scurvy, Riley Martin @Smarch, Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts, Vlad Von Carstein @Dom, Mikko Borisyuk @Minebro and DB IV @wcats will battle it out cage match style for the Stolzy (rookie of the season). Ninefingers, Carstein and Borisyuk are all coming off a Renaissance Cup win with Bratislava this season and they'll have a ton of swagger at training camp.
As GM of this team I'm very excited for what this upcoming season holds as well as the future of the team. More moves to come? 👀

BOOM reacted to STZ in Sunday Bullets 3/3
Off-season has begun. New York has kicked things off by swapping picks with Malmo in addition to sending two 3rd round picks for Jebediah big ol Doinks in Amish. This is an acquisition at defense that replaced Maellard. Big Ol Doinks is a younger option that should be a staple on the backend for years to come. In addition to brining in his player, @hylands will be formally introduced as the new AGM of the New York Americans this off-season. He and I have been a part of a management team before in Malmo, where we were able to win a cup together. I’m very excited to work with Hylands again, and hopefully achieve the same result! Was a crazy week for me last week. I went down south to Cancun for a week with 50 close friends and family. I came back a married man. The week was incredible, and flew by. The toughest part was having a 1 1/2 year old on a 3hr flight. But well worth it for a week of great times.

BOOM got a reaction from Thunder in HC Davos rebuilding roster around Ahma
Someone should enforce a rule that ensures that Davos doesn't essentially get a player for free.
If you don't like who drafts you, tough shit.

I'm not a VHL GM I don't usually look at the lottery. Not my circus not my monkeys.

BOOM reacted to Grape in Why Moscow?
My most recent player has inked a three season extension with the Moscow Menace, with the first season having a No Trade Clause. With this deal, the anticipation is that they will spend the majority of their career with the Menace. The goal of this player is to hopefully win something, as with all my players combined, I really only have one single trophy to show for it, being the Matt Benz trophy back in season 66. My players have not really earned any major awards, team or personal, and yet I am now locked in on a team with another defenseman who is pretty much matching me in TPE and performance, and a GM who has never been able to win a final. So, why have I chosen Moscow?
Team-wise, I feel that my players have always found their way to a team that ends up under-performing. My first player, Blake Laughton, ended up being passed around early in their career and found himself playing the majority of their career with the Prague Phantoms, who, being a pretty new team, started out not very good and his career ended with them being mediocre, never seeing much personal or team success throughout their career. My second player, Shawty Nananana, spent their entire career in Davos, head-manned by Gus, which means not really any success whatsoever, as Gus could not make Davos a good team no matter how hard he tried. My most previous player, Bob Vladovechsenkchushkin, probably had the best chance to get anything in their career, and ended up snagging a Victory Cup on a stacked Calgary team, but nothing else. Being my highest TPE player, by nearly 400 TPE, I would have hoped for more. He bounced around from contender to contender, but never could see much success. So far, going into season four of nine, my current player, Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage, has an empty trophy case. So why stick with a team where there’s an equivalent player on the blueline and a GM who has not been able to finish in the playoffs? Because this player, and this team, is different.
This has been my best earning player to date, being about 150 TPE away from matching my previous player, with five more seasons to close that gap and create a new one, with a build crafted specifically for success instead of just for fun. Results may not have been there in the first two seasons in the VHL, but by next season, they will be close if not on par with the top defensemen of other teams. As for the team, who in season 91 was near the bottom of the league, took one season of growth and finished fifth in the league, has something special brewing. Most of the roster is from the season 90 and 91 draft, so extremely young comparatively, with still a few decent prospects about to break through, and most claiming at a pretty high rate. This team is going to be scary good for at least a few seasons before the cap crunch comes for them. For those few seasons, there is a legitimate chance Spartan can finally break his finals curse.
So, why Moscow? Because they are going to win, and Obuz is going to win.

BOOM got a reaction from Steve in Moscow Menace Press Conference
1. Looking back at the playoffs, what positives can we take away from that series?
That Moscow was competitive at this stage and will improve moving forward into next season.
2. Raise your hand if you are hyped for next season and playoffs.
I am not sure how to express my hand gesture in written form.
3. It's my birthday on the 3rd, how old will I be?
Somebody told me that you'll be retirement age, so whatever that is.
4. Would it be fair to say that we put Moscow on the map during the season?
No. I'm fairly certain that Moscow was on most maps before this past VHL season. I have an old Atlas from my Grandpa and Moscow exists in that.
5. My player has a plan to really push defense up. Do you have a plan for your player?
Plan? Ha, good one. I have no idea what I'm doing with Dassler. I think he'll suck to be honest.
6. I am going to kick back and relax during this offseason. What are your plans?
Live my shitty life as best I can, until I need to do VHL shit again.
