Daniel Janser 2,216
Swiss Central Gazzette (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) Welcome back to our regular update on the Janser brothers' career. Please enjoy the following summaries. 3-5 Marcel's Iron Eagles faced Cologne in their first match, which ended in a 5-3 defeat. The first period ended in a 1-1 draw, with Snakehole scoring for the Swedes. The second frame saw four consecutive goals by Cologne to which only Young had an answer in form of the single Vasteras goal scored in these 20 minutes. The Express limited their effort and focussed to keep the distance and nurse the lead home. This plan came together as the Iron Eagles only scored one goal 3:27 minutes into the third, Marcel carried the puck into Cologne's zone and shoots, but only hits metal. Not being lazy he picked up his own rebound and tries again, this time it goes wide and the biscuit ends up with Bonaparte who shoots and Vladovechsenkchushkin deflects into the net. Komaryk (1g/2a), Xavier (2g/0a) and Vladovechsenkchushkin (1g/0a) were named the three stars of the game. Utonium (.917) stood on their head to keep their team in the race against Wilson (.833), but the sheer volume of shots (60 vs 18) made it impossible to steal a win, despite their heroic efforts. Vasteras' power play was a no-show (0/4) and the penalty kill was underwhelming (3/5). Marcel achieved 0g, 1a, +0, 2 PIM (Slashing, lead to a goal against) and 10 sb (which made him block almost as many shots as Wilson) 5-4 The second match was against the Geneva Rush with a final score of 5-4 in favour of the Iron Eagles. Vasteras scored a brace in quick succession, before Geneva answered with a goal of theirs around the half-time mark of the first period. The first goal was scored in power play, when Utonium played the free puck to Marcel, he relayed to Young. The recently acquired forward rushes from end to end and buries the puck topshelf. The second goal was scored by Bonaparte on even strength. In the second period, it took Vasteras 23 seconds to score the first time. During a power play, Young digs out a lost puck and shoots, just to see his shot being blocked by Desu. Marcel then picks up the orphaned disc and fires, but misses the twine. The puck finds its way to Elsby, who one-times it through the five hole. Less than two minutes later, Bonaparte wins the draw in the Rush zone and passes to Elsby. Elsby to Janser, Janser back to Elsby who just has to tap in. At the 12:57 minute mark, the Eagles are on a one man advantage. After a puck dump, which is hoovered up by Marcel and passed to Elsby, Vasteras enters the Geneva zone again. Elsby dishes to Bernier, Bernier to Young. Young relays the disc to Janser on the blue line and the Swiss defender winds up for a slap shot. Poor Taliferro gets in the way but is winded as the puck hits a vital point. So Toon can grab the puck and bury it. The score is 5-1 for the Swedes after two frames and they look like the sure winner. However, Geneva is down but not out and three consecutive goals of theirs make it a one goal game again and they pulled their netminder for the last two minutes. Luckily, it was too little, too late and the Eagles grab two points. The three stars went to Elsby (2g/1a), Live (0g/2a) and Janser (0g/4a). Utonium (.882) had one of their weaker days, but still outperformed Arpa (.844). Vasteras special teams were outstanding with power play converting 3/5 opportunities, while the penalty killing did not have to show up as, the Eagles played very disciplined and Toon, who took the only minor of the team made sure that his adversary Desu joined him in the sin bin. Marcel was credited with 0g, 4a, +0 and 4sb. 3-4 (SO) Daniel's Wranglers played the Seattle Bears first in a 4-3 shootout win. The first period ended with a score of 1-1, with Johnson scoring the equalizer on the powerplay. The second frame saw one goal each with Eagles converting a one man advantage for the Wranglers. Since the last period was a 1-1 tie as well, this time Reinhart scored her compulsory goal late in the game, and the overtime did not bring a decision either, the teams had to go into the (from the Wranglers dreaded) shootout. This time Fortuna was on Calgary's side and Jokinen scored the only shootout marker of both teams. Chara (1g/1a), Petrenko (1g/0a) and Jokinen (0g/2a) were name the three stars of the game. In the goaltender duel between Klamasteris and Flex we saw a rare tie, as both netminders parried 41 of 44 shots for an extraordinary save rate of .932 each. The Wranglers' power play was good (2/7) there penalty kill not so much (2/3). Daniel recorded 0g, 0a, -1, 4 PIM (Holding and Hooking, the former lead to a goal against), 2 hits, 1sb and face-off win rate of 53.19%. 4:3 The second match Calgary played Riga in a 4-3 defeat. The first frame ended 3-2 Riga. Funk and Nasherov netted for the Wranglers. The middle period went 1-0 to Riga, while the third was 1-0 Calgary with Perry scoring short handed. The three stars were awarded to Giant (1g/1a), DaMoose (1g/1a) and Johnson (0g/3a). Despite Klamasteris' (.895) clear dominance over Reinhart (.870) between the pipes, he was not able to steal a win. While Calgary's box play was decent (5/6), the power play had a lot of room for improvement (0/4). Daniel had 0g, 0a, +0, 2 PIM (Tripping, no consequence on the score), and a FO% of 41.94. This was certainly no night to write home about for the young Rotkreuz native. Shindigs 1,771
Only Västerås could muster the epic feat of losing when a single Dman has 10 sb in the game. (Though i think we more or less did the same against Rome) Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/116301-a-tale-of-two-brothers-a-quarter-done/#findComment-909759 Share on other sites
