@v.2

Hey everyone, with us just passed the halfway point of the season there are a lot of players approaching major milestones with only 30 or so games left in their career. There are also several players with considerable time left in the league that are closing in on major milestones, some of which are quite impressive. In this article we’ll discus some of the major milestones about to be eclipsed, the likelihood of it, and in addition there will be some honourable mentions at the end of the article. While you’re here be sure to check out other recent VSN articles:

S85 VHL Awards Race | Prospect Pipeline 9/20 | VHL Power Rankings S70'S part 5

:mos: Hard Markinson @STZ

Potential Milestone: 700 Career points

Likelihood: Possible

Markinson has had a career that will surely see them inducted into the Hall of Fame, having won 5 individual awards over the course of the past 7 seasons including 3 Sterling Labatte Trophies. Currently they have 184 goals, and 485 assists for a total of 669 points. Markinson will hit the milestone with their 85th point of the season, they are currently on pace for 84.8 points meaning that they are on pace to finish their career with exactly 700 points.

:que::nya::ldn: Jerome Reinhart @MexicanCow123

Potential Milestone: 700 Career points

Likelihood: Guaranteed

Jerome Reinhart will get their 700th career point this season as they currently sit at 682 points in only their 7th season. Currently Jerome is on pace to get their 700th point in their 61st game this season. Following this the race will be on for point number 800 and their 300th goal.

:cal::hel::rig::dav: Alex Johnston @Alex

Potential Milestone: 600 career points / 300 career goals

Likelihood: Probable / 50/50

Johnston’s career to date has been an interesting one with a 17-point rookie season. Currently Johnston has 286 goals and 304 assists for 590 points with only 25 games left in their career. This means that while Johnston will more than likely get their 600th (on pace to finish with 621) their race for 300 goals will be much closer with them needing 45 on the season and just being at 31 so far, they will need to score 14 goals in the final 25 games to reach the milestone, becoming only the 3rd player in the 80’s to do so.

:mal::la::dcd: Tui Sova @v.2

Potential Milestone: 600 Career Points

Likelihood: Probable

Along with Hard Markinson, Tui Sova will likely see their name inducted into the Hall of Fame in the near future and picking up their 600th career point would be another reason why they are one of the top defensemen of this generation. Currently they are 19 points short of the milestone and are on pace to reach it well before the seasons and their career’s end.

:mal::dcd::nya: Taylor Mourning @scoop

Potential Milestone: 500 Career points

Likelihood: Guaranteed

Taylor Mourning has had a very solid career so far and has been in the Boulet conversation several times. Currently they have 487 career points. This season they have 40 points in 45 games and are currently on pace to score their 500th point in the next 15 games.

:dav::prg::cal: Luc Tessier @KC15

Potential Milestone: 250 Career Goals

Likelihood: Probable

Tessier has been a solid player for their entire career and has certainly lived up to the 4th overall pick hype. Currently they have 248 goals and will surely score their 250th before the end of this season when they play their last game. They are currently set to score their 250th goal over the course of their next 5 games. They also recently passed the 500-point mark earlier this season!

:mos::hel::que: Nico Pearce @Spartan

Potential Milestone: 400 Points / 200 Goals

Likelihood: Both Guaranteed

Nico Pearce could very well go down as the best player of the 80’s. Currently Pearce has 187 goals, and 197 assists for a total of 384 points in only 335 games played. Pearce will surely fly past both of these milestones this season barring major setbacks, in which case they would reach them early in S86 along with reaching the 500-point mark in S86.

:mos: Papa Emeritus @Beketov

Potential Milestone: 250 wins

Likelihood: Probable (in S86)

Papa Emeritus has been one of the most dominant goalies of the 80’s and with their play they are currently set to become the 4th goalie since S70 to reach the 250-win milestone. Along the way they have racked up a 208-96-29 record, a 2.70 GAA, and an impressive 0.922 SV%.

:dcd: Eno Rama @Enorama

Potential Milestone: 500 Wins as GM

Likelihood: Guaranteed

The only person to ever be the GM of the DC Dragons is nearing the 500th win of their career with a current record of 479-589-29. Eno is set to reach the milestone early next season or if the Dragons can pick up the pace by a hair and get their 50th and Eno’s 500th this season, they are currently on pace for 46 wins.

Honourable Mentions:

:prg::rig::nya::que: Nathan Powers - 400 points (Reached milestone yesterday!)

:sea::dav: Vinny Detroit @dasboot - 2000 hits (currently at 1976)

:cal: Saku Kotkakoivu @DollarAndADream - 400 points (Reached milestone Yesterday!)

:nya::la::war: Tavish DeGroot @rory - 200 points (Currently at 190)

:cal: Ben Dahl @Ben - 100 wins (Currently at 93)

:dcd: Bubbles Utonium @fishy - 100 wins (Currently at 95)

Bonus points: the franchise wins record is 259 so I’m currently 52 wins off setting that as well.

When you pretty much have the same number of hits as boot but you are not on the writers team so you don't get mentioned.

I almost included your player, but went with Boot due to them being on pace to crush Deathwalkers record.
