The results of the lottery are as follows:

SDM 1OA (30% chance, 12th place team)
MIN 2OA (25% chance, 11th place team)
HOU 3OA (25% chance, 10th place team)
PHI 4OA (20% chance, 9th place team).
 
The results went exactly in order of team, no one "won" the lottery so to speak. This was done on a randomizer wheel in discord, viewed by @rjfryman @Ricer13 @Spartan @Renomitsu @Rayzor_7 @DMaximus who can vouch for it happening - I don't know how to actually stream myself doing a lottery so this was the best I could do.

Glad to see you making a return man

Earlier today and after much deliberation, I finally took the plunge and headed to the portals "Create a Player" section. It's been a while since I had a player here in the mighty VHL, but the lure of the place, combined with ever more regular logins to Discord, finally convinced me that it was time to get back here. I've had several players, from Vladimir Boomchenko to Vaydar Odinsson and Bismarck Koenig, but the glory of my best player Odin Tordahl was possibly the worst thing that could have happened. After his retirement, the doubt set in that I could ever develop a player into anything remotely resembling Tordahl's success. I was probably correct. Members who know me a little more than just "Boom", know that I tend to put a lot of pressure on myself, which in turn can lead to disillusionment and thoughts that my time of being relevant in the VHL is over. I believe that happened with Odin, and I never really enjoyed being here with my subsequent players.
 
After Vaydar Odinsson(who obviously shares the surname of my new player, Gunnar) it was time to take a break from what was becoming a weekly grind to earn the maximum TPE. I was viewing GFX and the other tasks as chores and was increasingly lacking the desire to get them done before the weekly deadlines. I dropped by occasionally just to see who was active and generally what was going on, but the desire to recreate just wasn't there. That was until I listened to @Berocka and @dasboot with the "One and a half Aussies" podcast. Hearing them and knowing they were down here as well and involved in the VHL was the catalyst that made the decision to create again, that much easier. It reminded me of being on the Pajodcast occasionally with @Advantage and @Devise where I always enjoyed talking with them and listening to what they had to say. So I'd like to say thanks to those guys, plus others who talked to me about coming back in the league discord. People like @gorlab @OrbitingDeath  @BladeMaiden @Banackock @Peace Ferk and others who know they answered my questions have all been a great help. 
 
So here I am, with Gunnar Odinsson, the nephew of crappy four season VHL'er, Vaydar Odinsson the former Titan, American and Nighthawk. He won't be anything special. No superstar, first liner or stat leading defenseman, but that's OK. He's not meant to be. He's just the reason to be here, active and enjoying what the VHL and it's incredible members have to offer. A place to hang out, talk shit and occasionally care about sim results.
 
I've missed it and am damn glad to be back.

Hey there everyone who actually cares to read anything I write. 

As my path in VHL has been very interesting I wanted to actually tell you about my name - FrostBeard and where it comes from. I have been using this name for over 5 years across many different platforms. Previously (And still in some communities like World of Tanks) I used a name - SelonianViking but that is another story. Actually, being called Frost was a somewhat of an everyday thing when I was a part of Youth Guard (Youth organization for National Guard in Latvia). Our instructor decided that it would be fun to assign Call-signs to us when we used old soviet radios. For me it was simple - as one of my RL names is Sarmis and it translates quite closely to Frost the call sign was there. Not that I really liked it at first as I found it to be better just called Sarmis as it was rare enough (Only about 50 people bear that name) but no, the decision of call-signs was final and we had to go with them. Funny but more people called me Frost, more I started to enjoy that and slipped away from SelonianViking in gaming world. I think the first game I used FrostBeard was in BF4 if I remember correctly. That said, still, a long time a go. When it was time to join VHL there was no real doubt in my mind to come and choose that as my name. That said - why Beard? Well, I had to keep some heritage from Viking part of my old nickname - you know - Viking had beards, I will call myself that. Done. 

Since then, every single name for a game character, for an account in a game has been related to Frostbeard. Funny how when I restarted playing Star Trek Online I without hesitation called myself John Frostbeard and then stopped to smirk for a minute. It is something I will probably never change. FrostBeard for life. 

Also, so that people don't flag this as - Oh, it is not league related. Well, I can say this - Malmo Nighthawks had an amazing season and we went up ahead against super strong teams. I would not have thought that Malmo would get swept by Helsinki squad but oh well. For me it is a difficult path now as I have to wonder if there has to be any changes made to the squad or are we ready to go and do our best. In the end, it really doesn't matter what I do, it is always up to STHS gods to give us a good sim. I am quite happy with our individual performances - Wakaro had a great Rookie season and will turn out to be an amazing piece for Malmo future. Adrienne was as dominant as he could have been considering our team was getting better and better. Impressed to see Hylands shining with his teammates. I think I can say that we are looking at future Top Goalscorer in VHL. Well, at least there is no doubt in my mind it is going to be that way. Gyrfalcon had a bit of a struggling end of the season but I believe with more improvements we might see Gyrfalcon shine on the big stage next season!

Condor Adrienne on the Move from Malmo?
 
Legends were born to play in the VHL...well...legends and Logan Laich.  With that being said, one of those legends (maybe even the king of them) may just be on the move.  One rumours site titled “ProbablynotTrueRumours” came out with the following quote:
 
“We have been hearing from many anonymous totally real and important sources that Condor Adrienne, the future Hall of Famer and current best defender (and maybe player) in the league is likely to be on the move to one of the other teams in the league.  We can guarantee, with absolute certainty, that he will play somewhere in either Europe or North America next year, and frankly we are as shocked as all of you.
 
As for who he could go to? I am unsure but I imagine if Malmo does this you have to be looking to their youth to build their future and maybe find Adrienne a competitive team to go to, in order for him to still have a great shot at a Continental Cup.”
 
For those who are keeping track on the talent that is Condor “I may be better than Conner Low” Adrienne, you will know that after a suspect start to his career, he has exploded to basically win every individual award in existence.  With two Jake Wylde trophies for Best Defensive Defender (and likely a third this year), he has shown to be one of the best defenders in our generation when it comes to his own zone.  He also has won one and probably soon to be two Alexander Valiq trophies, showing how valuable offensively he is to his team.  Finally, he has won soon to be two Sterling Labatte trophies which crowns him the best defender in the league.  Don’t be shocked if he joins some of the greats of all-time by winning a trio of Labatte trophies.  Of course, the cherry on the cake is his Mike Szatkowski Trophy for most points and his Brett Slobodzian Trophy for Most Outstanding Player (which is not an easy award for any defender to win).  He is truly once in a generation (well..twice if we include Smitty).
 
As for Malmo, they did release a statement on the matter:
 
“I, Frostbeard, keeper of the keys here in Malmo will confirm we want to move on from Condor.  We see more talent in some of the other defenders as he is getting old, cranky and just frankly, he has become an ass.  Now is the perfect chance to ship him off to the Commies in Moscow or Toronto and move on to the greatest defenseman to ever be named Tyler Walker.  I haven’t told Condor though yet, so please do not publish this!”
 
There you have it.  Frostbeard, the GM of the Malmo Nighthawks, has confirmed that Condor will be moved on from.  Frankly, I’m startled by this but perhaps once you reach the age of ninety-five, things just don’t work the way it used to.  Plus, with the talk that Condor wants to focus on his dying grandfather, Thomas O’Malley, perhaps this change will be vastly needed for the old giant of a defender.  Regardless, good riddance.

I don’t know tbh. I assumed you must have been accidentally assigned that group but you weren’t listed under it, unless someone fixed it in the last hour. I wound up moving you to another group and then back to updaters to see if that fixes it.

Its progression. We went from a small community to a much larger one. There are bound to be cultural changes and something akin to "small town feels" to what essentially is a larger community where people may not know everyone else even and you can meet strangers or other players you've never met before. Yes we've kind of moved form strictly only "VHL Hockey" to become a community that uses the VHL as its core but members participate in a great deal many other things and games. You may not like this but I do personally as the objective to me from day 1 was always not just "bap" but to create a long lasting community where we have a common interest but large enough to include multiple other interests. 
 
We've essentially grown from like a farm town to like a large city with multiple sectors and fields. Will everyone like it? Nope, but generally I feel we keep moving towards good stuff. I disagree with you assessment of us going downhill but since that is merely an opinion, I'll just leave it at that.
 
On a more review like stance. There is solid content here. The formatting somewhat leaves something to desire. There isn't much to help engage the reader but at least you spelt things out. No coloring, graphics but also no errors anyways. I didn't remove any marks for lack of graphics though since I feel it probably wouldn't be as appropriate for your topic. But this could've been dressed up nicely

Pretty cool graphic! The missing eye is fitting as Halloween is around the corner, but it looks really clean and crisp. Nice font/size. 9/10
