    Name: Eric Parker

    Age: 17

    DOB: January 25th, 2001

    Height: 6’ 1”

    Weight: 195lbs

    Handedness: Right

    Hometown: Raleigh, NC, USA

    Early Years

Eric Parker was born on January 25th, 2001 to Charlie and Wilma Parker in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has one older sister and spent the beginning few years in this area. Both of his parents were hard working blue collar individuals who made sure they were always able to provide for their two children and help them accomplish their dreams. Eric spent the first few years of his life in Raleigh until his father’s job brought him and his family to Roanoke, Virginia a smaller city in the middle of Virginia. This new are of the country had its closest professional hockey team 3 hours away. At an early age Parker was a multi-sport athlete playing every kind of sport as long as it allowed him to be competitive. He played football, baseball, soccer, basketball, and even wrestled when he was younger. Eventually each sport would lose its appeal because it never fully intrigued him. He loved the competitive nature but never felt fully attached to each sport that he played. Finally, one day he saw a billboard in his city for the youth hockey league and knew he had to try it out. He begged his parents to buy him some equipment and let him try out for the team. His parents were reluctant because of his tendency to pick up and drop a sport on a whim, but once they saw him out there on the ice something felt different. Not only was there a passion for the sport that Parker had never shown before, but also, he was naturally gifted at many of the aspects of the sport.

    Early Teenage Years

As Parker began to get older he also began to get better at the sport. Hockey is not very popular in this part of the country so there were no competitive school teams that he could play for. There were only club teams where each city would have barely enough skaters to fill out a team and often players had to rotate between positions. Cities would play each other with their skeleton crew rosters and most of the athletes were barely even able to skate. Except for Eric Parker. He had a natural giftedness for the sport that was obvious to everyone who saw him play. Other teams were specifically making their game plan around him so that they could limit his ability to make plays, but that still didn’t stop him. This helped Parker start to gain notoriety around the regional hockey market. He was still having a hard time breaking into the national and international market but his popularity was growing. That is until his father lost his job. His father was a local business owner and his mother was an elementary school teacher. His father’s business folded leaving his father unexpectedly unemployed with his mother being the sole household income provider. Because of this unexpected change in income the family was forced to cut out no essential spending to help out and everyone was expected to do this. Eric’s sister was forced to stop dancing a passion she had for a while. Eric’s mother had to sell her keyboard and other instruments that she loved playing to help out. Sadly, Eric had to stop playing hockey because of the cost it put on his family to travel and pay the other expenses. During this time Eric frantically worked any odd job he could find. He mowed lawns, helped people move, dog sat, and even did some labor work for people who would pay him. These actions sparked something in Eric. He realized that he cared so much about hockey that he was willing to do whatever it took to be able to play again. His parents noticed this as well. Eric’s father was still looking for a job when Eric’s old coach came to see him. The team had done awful this past season without Parker and the coach was willing to do whatever he could to see that Eric was able to play again. Eric’s father wasn’t one to take handouts and the coach knew that so he had another idea. He offered Eric’s father a job. The coach’s passion was for hockey and in order to be able to travel with the team he had his own business chain where he was his own boss. The coach was about to open up another location and needed someone to run it. Eric’s father accepted the offer and Eric was able to go back to playing the next season.

    Late Teenage Years

With everything being fixed financially Eric Parker was able to start playing hockey again. The buzz of Parker coming back led to his popularity rising again. He got back on the ice and was a natural again. He was able to rack up the points and show his flashy ability of play while leading his team to tournament win after tournament win. This helped his begin to gain notice by the right people. Certain scouts from the CHL, colleges, and other programs reached out to him. This led to Parker having to make a decision about where he was going to play next. After consulting his parents and coach Parker decided to go into the United States Hockey Development Program. Although this was a controversial decision everyone was supportive of it.

Parker made it to the development program and this new culture hit him like a brick wall. He was no longer obviously the best player on the ice. He was already a dedicated player who was always looking to get better, but now it was obvious that he was going to have to work even harder. He was no longer given the ice time just because he was overly talented, but he was excited about that. Now he knew that if he was logging major ice time it was because he earned it. He made a name for himself although he did have some growing pains because of the new level of talent.

    VHLM

Eric Parker was drafted in the 4th round of the VHLM draft by the Las Vegas Aces and is looking forward to how he can make an impact immediately for his team. Definitely keep a close eye on him as he will soon be one of the best offensive defensemen in the VHLM and soon the VHL.

    Brick Wahl: The Next Generation

    Player Biography

    Name: Brick Wahl

    Height: 6’7

    Weight: 247lbs

    Born: September 1st, 1997

    Draft Season:  Season 64 Draftee

    Current Team: Las Vegas Aces

In the beginning there was just a pebble...

Born following a local avalanche resulting in the creation of various rock formations; Brick Wahl was destined to rise from the rubble and claim his stature among the greats as his uncle did years prior. His early life as an above average sized child was spent at his fathers constriction sites assisting with brick laying and various brick related activities. Bricks academics were admired among his peers. Teachers often noticed how stone faced he was as he read through his text books and completed mathematics while showing his work. Quadratic equations and geometry came as easily to him as tying his skates. Brick's love for hockey was kismet. He spent most of his free time at the rink watching his uncle (also named Brick Wahl, sponsored by Advantage Energy Drinks) backstop the local professional club. Interestingly enough Brick started out as a defense man but was convinced to change to goalie by his uncle due to his size and lack of agile skating ability. Brick was placed (forced) into ballet classes by his Mother Ashlar Wahl and power skating by his father Dreylan Wahl (aka Dry Wahl as he was know in his community). A noticeable improvement was found in his agility and skating prowess although he was still considered average at best.

    Early Career

In 2013, Brick was scouted by the Moose Jaw Bucks of the 'AAA' Minor Western Hockey League. Brick appeared in 11 games earning a record of 8-1-2 allowing just 19 pucks past his large frame. He spent just one more season with Moose Jaw before moving on to Swift Current of the NWHL. Although being considered a goon acquiring 29 penalty minutes from his crease, Wahl went on to a highly impressive 35 win season through 45 contests. Brick was seen by several psychologists over the course of the off-season leading to his university career at the University of Saskatchewan (Huskies). Being a husky guy himself, he was teased among his peers for fitting the bill as a Husky. During his years at University, Brick studied Geology in hopes of one day becoming a Geoscientist should his career in hockey not go as planned .Brick played 3 seasons with Saskatchewan before his eligibility with the VHLM.

    Brick's Interests

The aforementioned Geology interests are evident through Brick's daily activities. Brick is an avid viewer of the Discovery Channel and views documentaries on rock formations and volcanic eruptions. Brick is a devoted collector of various gem stone classifications. His favourite vacation spot of none other than the mysterious historical site; Stonehenge. He has also been known to identify with the Fantastic 4 comic book series and idolizes "The Thing" for obvious yet ironic reasons.

A series of unfortunate shopping experiences

From goalie equipment to the shirt on his back; Brick has always endured an emotional journey in the malls of America and the respective world. In Japanese size, Brick is known as a "we don't make that, you must pay extra. Please come back, 3 weeks!". His latest visit to Tsuyu Clothing Co. ended in an unfortunate incident where he split 4 individual pairs of pantaloons. Brick has been seen wearing many sleeveless shirts and not because he is rough with the female populous. With his generous VHLM contract from the Las Vegas Aces, Brick can now special order clothing to fit his abnormally large build. His first purchase was previously discovered in a recent interview; a pair of 1997 Reebok Air Pump Runners. As you can imagine, Brick's feet take a toll day in and day out so walking on fresh Vegas air relives the feet'al stress. Brick's hockey equipment was specially crafted by the same athletic architect who designed Yao Ming's basketball jerseys and shorts. Vegas footed the bill for Brick's incredibly irregular order of hockey equipment and regretted offering Brick such a fair contract. Brick has Sertapedic™ on speed dial due to his recent order of a 7 and a half foot length bed. Shaquille O'Neil was Brick's referenced to the Sertapedic™ brand.

    Bricks personal life

Brick was recently seen canoodling with his new lady friend. She is a local University Student (Fashion major) coming in at a staggering height of 5'2" Caylin Aqua. Brick was asked recently regarding the difference in height between him and his companion although the reported could not reach their microphone to Brick's mouth in order to get an audible response. The look sold it. We won't be questioning this further. Time will tell if Brick and Caylin will be featured on TLC's "Odd Couples".

    Charity Work

Brick put his construction skills to the test in 2017 during a rebuild project at the local animal shelter. A new facility was constructed by the volunteers. Brick went above and beyond adopting a Boston Terrier appropriately named Jasper and a Chihuahua named Citrine. As an avid dog lover, Bricks walks his dogs on a daily basis, and although it is a site to behold, his neighbors are in love with his dedication to the little fluff balls. When his K9's are pooched, he will carry them in his sweater pockets better known as sleeping bags to normal folk.

    Career expectations

Brick is a goalie with quite a high ceiling and hopefully he hits is as he does in his entrance way at home. Saying Brick will be a starter as his uncle was is an understatement. He is expected to start most games with the Vegas Aces this season in the VHLM and has hopes of one day being considered for the VHL. Should Brick have been available in this off-season's draft he may have been overlooked due to his recent addition to the pool of available talent. Vegas should count themselves lucky for landing a rare talent whose name should be etched in the concrete that the Aces arena stands upon. Brick has a promising career and it will be fun to watch as it unfolds.

Guys, first of all let me say it wasn't easy to get to the point I'm at in the VHL and VHLM. FIRST I was handed a VHLM team on the CUSP of winning it all, and obviously mess up the lines and blow the finals. We all remember that, it's a little gross. Next, I had to be good enough to be a quality pick in the VHL draft, 6th overall to be exact, so that I could be a lottery pick. With that, I was a top 2 player on a tanking team, the Titans, who would win sooooooo few games. When we did win games, it was because @Pandar and I would go for like 4 points each. It was tough to be a fan of the league, but I trusted the god damn process. Then, @Quik rattles off an amazing offseason, and grabs some of the better prospects, guys like @Jubo07 and @Sonnet to name a couple, who I had resented all season, and even @SidTheKid87 who I reluctantly traded away my VHLM rights to. To say I'm grateful for the work he's put in on the VHL level would be an understatement, but what I'm here to talk about is MYSELF AND WHAT I WAS ABLE TO DO.

I was able to draft an easy 200 TPE cap guy in Quik, but @Kisshan, @Advantage, and keep together the group of Yukon Free Agents I had previously signed in @RyanZabby @Philliefan @NathanN for what looks like an awesome season. Couple this with keeping the now FANTASTIC @pierogituxedo (Rhett) alongside both @BBNAT and my dude @803, we look to really compete this season. As a whole, I think Yukon will be a really really scary team to face this upcoming season, and I'm excited that I got to put all of the pieces together, and that the pieces were guys I've gotten to know, talk to, and have made sure they WANT to be here, to win with us. I'm excited to see what the boys in Helsinki, and Yukon, are able to do this year, and hope it's a 2 cup year for me.

    Cheers boys,
    Barzy

Good evening, I’m Dusty Britches, and this is Sports Center.
    Our top story tonight:

With the VHLM dispersal draft in the books, it would seem like Dan Montgomery and the Yukon Rush have stacked the deck for next season. One person who can’t stop smiling about it is Starting Goalie Rhett Stoffiday.

“Lord, I can’t stop grinning and laughing! Mr. Montgomery pulled off nothin’ short of a Draft day Miracle! With picks like Bailey and Shan and Sullivan, we have a team that’s going to be amazing in the future! I can’t wait to get in there and get my hands dirty with the boys!”

Stoffiday, who starts his second season, is the cornerstone which the Rush built around. The goaltender registered 16 wins in what was a season of rebuilding for Yukon. He says now that Yukon is abuzz for the hometown team, and jerseys are flying out of the team store!

“Lordy, the Kronos Bailey Jersey is a hot seller, as well as Junior Sullivan, and Kissan Shan! They’re giving my jersey a run for its money, but Lord if I ain’t excited! Hell, I bought a couple myself!” Stoffiday would admit.

“It’s an amazing feeling, having our team back. After last season, I didn’t know how the draft would go, but I’m proud to be a Rush Fan!” Jiminy Christmas, a Whitehorse, Yukon local, who has followed the team for almost a decade would state.

The Whitehorse Gang will return to Takhini Arena for pre-season action next week.

One major question for the Rush will be answered this evening: The question of where Rhett Stoffiday will be playing after Season 63.

“Lord, I don’t even know ya’ll. Yukon’s my home, and I love it. It’d be great to remain in Canada for a while, perhaps with Calgary or Toronto, and Seattle is just down the continent!  It’d also be amazing to go to New York and play for the Americans, or to Finland! We played in Oslo, Norway last season, and I got the chance to visit Scandinavia for the first time, and I loved it. I’d even love to play in Latvia, even though I’ve never been there! It’s mighty tempting to speculate where I’ll go, but I ain’t worried. I’m trusting God to put me exactly where he wants me to go!”
Stoffiday said, looking cheerful as ever.

Country Strong, just like his nickname, and stoic as ever. If Stoffiday was ever nervous, you wouldn’t know it. He’s content just being with his team, and the rest will work itself out.

“I’m blessed. I’m so thankful to get the opportunity to live up here and bring some semblance of joy to these folks. These are good people, who care about each other. Sure, I miss Nashville, and I miss Vegas, but this is where God wants me right now. I believe that. This is where I’m meant to be, and I’m gonna make the most of it. Most of all, I know my daddy’s lookin’ down and enjoying every minute!”

Shoot, I think it should go to Ottawa’s goalie! Dude was a beast!

The VHL World Cup will take place this season, do you believe you can make it onto your country/continents respected roster?

It would be an honor to play for the United States in the World Cup. I believe I might be able to make that team, or even make the team for North America. I’d just be honored to be asked!

My teammates are mostly inactive, with the exception of a few. That being said, the guys who are active are great at keeping pucks out of the net, and I look forward to playing with them next season!

Stoffiday reacted to Jubo in Las Vegas Welcomes New Management
Earlier this week, Las Vegas' AGM Jubo07 was promoted as the new General Manager. After a successful first season as AGM (50-15-7) and the stepping down of @jacobaa19 , the league made quick work of filling the role. Next in the hiring process was filling the now vacant Assistant General Manager position. There was a surprising lack of applicants but that did not mean a lack of quality. After much deliberation the role was awarded to @oilmandan who Las Vegas management believes will be an asset to the organization and will commit to reserving Vegas' image and continued level of success.

Dan comes to Vegas after spending a season as a member of the Ottawa Lynx organization who have found great success in the S62 VHLM playoffs.
The Las Vegas Aces have a lot of work to do this off-season and Dan will work closely with Jubo07 to ensure Vegas is game ready come S63.

    Congratulations to @oilmandan
