i thought that was a given because the 30th is when they say we open to the rest of Canada. Which is why I was confused why they bothered creating all this commotion for the sake of one week despite NB not sticking to the agreement for the Atlantic provinces to open at the same time -

I understand what you're saying, and it might be a valid argument, but a couple points:
-A star player going through their whole career on competitive teams is a reward of its own. I'd hardly call that situation "unfair" because this is someone who isn't on a team that is going nowhere.
-The absolute most bonuses are going to do is let someone buy one more regression fighter (saving 50-ish TPE if that player is top-tier and saving less than that if they aren't), so I really don't see why that gives a team (or even a player) enough of a competitive advantage that it's worth nuking the system over it.
Yeah fair enough, I agree any ‘unfairness’ is not hugely significant and that was just going to my general point that I don’t really see the logic/value behind bonuses in general. All that being said, do I think nuking them is worth the outrage it would cause? I’m not sure. Probably not.

I do see your point about potentially helping with regression fighters but tbh there may be an argument to be made that that in itself is somewhat unfair? If the criteria for a getting a significant bonus is basically whether you happen to be on a rebuilding team or not, it seems kind of imbalanced that a ‘star’ player (or really any player) could go through a whole career without getting bonuses if they happen to be on competitive teams. There’s probably another side to that argument of whether it helps non-competing teams become competitive but seems a bit weird to me.

I don’t disagree with this but to provide an opposing view, I don’t necessarily see much point in bonuses at all in a league where money really doesn’t drive player decisions. It’s not like bonuses are used to attract players, it’s always just kind of been a “I have cap space so I might as well throw you a bunch of money” kind of thing. And of course the result (I think) is that most bonuses go to lower TPE players on non-competing teams which I feel is kind of backwards from what I would think a traditional bonus should be all about.
i guess I just don’t really see what value they add to the league

- 7-day suspension
- 2 week TPE ban (weeks ending April 11th and April 18th)
Nick Kirkpatrick and Bobby Bummhole have been permanently banned.
Operating a multi for any length of time is a serious offense and return to the league will be subject to a discussion with the commissioners/mod team at the conclusion of the initial suspension.

This is what my reaction wants to be but at the same time I think, controversy aside, there's a case that live simming is really the prudent thing to do with a league as big and active as this is now, and we clearly have the capacity to do it even if it is a pain. And I don't mean this as a knock on any of the simmers in any way but with the efficiencies the portal has created for simming it'd still be an 'easier' job than it used to be even if simmed live.
That said the people calling for the simmers to jump through extra hoops, like show a timestamped discord message, will never be satisfied and they can eat it IMO.

I've looked at this a bit and I think in its current form we could do some VHFL tracking on the portal but I can't see us implementing the drafting, that would be a pretty big job. Something where the fantasy manager uploads the final rosters and then we track VHFL stats in real time would likely be manageable but I think people are more or less doing that with the API already so not sure if that would be a valuable addition or not. Might be able to do something nicer with a different format.
For weekly fantasy zone - I was actually pretty far into working on a fantasy system in the portal before my little hiatus.. It's a bit obsolete now with these changes and VHLE but I will look to modify and finish that once I know what the requirements are.
