The S72 VHLM Dispersal Draft took place last evening in front of many fans looking forward to seeing who would be on their team next. Let's take a look at whom the Aces drafted. 7th Overall: D, Micah Adrienne With the 7th pick, they took 6'6" defenseman, Micah Adrienne. He played 23 games for the Philadelphia Reapers last season putting up 17 points in 23 games. He is noticeably a really defensive player but been adding some offensive talent. He will look to bolster (likely) the top pairing this year for the Aces. 20th Overall: RW, Gregg Stallion With the 20th pick, they took winger, Gregg Stallion. Stallion played 68 games for Houston last season putting up 95 points in those games. He had 44 goals and 51 assists which is absolutely amazing. He had 9 PPG which is something that the Aces will absolutely be looking for this season. He is definitely sporting a high shooting attribute which means this guy likes goals. 46th Overall: G, Nils Friedriksen With the 46th pick, they went for a need at goaltender, something that a lot of people went higher, but this guy is a steal with this pick. He already has 134 TPE coming back to the Aces as he was with them last season. He had a 41-27-4 record with a .838 Save Percentage and a 3.61 GAA, but this year with Adrienne adding to the squad, those numbers are looking to improve. He was much needed and will be welcomed back with open arms. 59th Overall: RW, Gary Rush With the 59th pick, the Aces took winger Gary Rush. This guy is looking to be a defensive forward first with some scoring talent. Honestly, I love the look of where this guy is going in terms of build. He is a new player, so has not played yet in the VHLM. He is absolutely ready to hit the Aces. He did already update this week, so he is gearing and ready to go. 67th Overall: C, Jack Mount This guy looks to be an absolute steal. He already did join the locker room and has been wanting to get better. He is going to be the playmaker on the squad while everyone else decides that they wanted to score. You need someone to set them up. I think Mount will be that exact guy to do exactly that. What a steal with the 67th pick. 81st Overall: D, Joakim Lund With the last pick, they took Joakim Lund. He did play only 2 games last year for the Ottawa Lynx before being sat on the bench. He has not updated in a couple weeks, so hopefully he comes back to life for the Aces.

1. How has your training regimen changed with what's going on in the world now? Well, I really just like to eat a bunch of Chick-Fil-A and workout in my gym in my house. I used to leave my house, but not anymore. Oh well. 2. Who's got your vote for team captain this season and why? This is an easy one. I choose @Spartan3. What skill have you improved the most this offseason? I have been going a lot of offensive stats. I was going to go defense a bunch, but I have decided to be a well-rounded defensive player. 4. Returning players, who are you most excited to play with and why? Or new draftees, which Las Vegas vet are you looking forward to playing with the most and why? I am most looking forward to playing with @Spartan and @Da Trifecta. Both people I really like, so it will be fun playing with them. 5. In your eyes, what would the Las Vegas Aces mascot look like? A huge Ace of Hearts. I just think it will be cool to see. 6. What would be your biggest goal heading into the beginning of the season? I think just winning baby. That's my goal.

1) It’s the offseason. What’s your normal day like? Workout in my gym, eat a lot of cookies, it was what we have to do. Sleep a lot. 2) With COVID-19 restrictions in place many ice rinks are closed. How are you trying to keep up your on-ice training at home? We are supposed to be training? 3) Both the VHL and the VHLM drafts are coming up soon. Are you planning on attending either draft? Why or why not? I will be there in the green room, I think. I am not even sure with COVID if I am allowed to be there. Someone will tell me, right? 4) What small tidbit about your life is going to appear on the screen when you’re drafted? Micah is a huge fan of Taylor Swift 5) You’re forced to go on Shark Tank, a show where you pitch business ideas/inventions to investors. What are you pitching to them? I am pitching an automatic ice cream scooper. How annoying is it to have to scoop your own ice cream? What if someone does it for you? 6) For security purposes we’re going to be implementing a voice activated lock on the locker room door. You get to choose a three-word phrase as your password. What is your phrase? Taylor Swift rocks -
Defenseman Micah Adrienne is about to go through his first draft experience. He had the choice of teams before, but now, it is going to be about who wants him. You already know what you are getting from someone like him, but who will want Micah? We did reach out to Micah for some thoughts on the draft. This is what he had to say: There is a lot of unknowns coming out of this next VHLM Draft. Where will he go? Tune into the draft to find out.

1) Game 7s are a rare and unique moment in a hockey player’s career. How did you feel going into game 7? I am always nervous. It is a huge game, so always so nervous about what if I make a mistake. 2) Philadelphia lost and is the season is now over. What are your thoughts on the season for the team? I really enjoyed my half of a season in Philly. I wish them the best of luck. 3) How do you feel about your personal performance this season? I have a lot to do and work to do. It's just starting. 4) Now with Philly eliminated, are you rooting for any team to win? Why or Why not? I am rooting for Vegas to win. I heard the GM that drafted the team is cool. 5) Everyone gets to return home during the off season. What is the first thing you’re going to do when you return home? I need some of my mom's cooking. She needs to make me some cookies and stuff. I need good eats. 6) Our long-time goalie, Isak Sjostrom, is moving on to the VHL. We’re starting to evaluate new goalies for the team. We’re looking at some sumo wrestlers. Good idea? Why or why not? Any better ideas? Very good idea. Less spots to shoot at. -
I dont like quarantine, but VHL is good.

Shawn Glade III's season ends as quick as it began

Shawn Glade III + Micah Adrienne = dream pairing -
Are we thinking about AGMs all wrong? I think the point of AGMs is to develop someone that could be in a managerial position later on in the league. The goal is always to have a steady stream of GMs. Not that I think it's an issue here, what is the big deal of allowing someone to become a bigger member in the community as well as in the locker room? Allowing someone in to see what it looks like behind the scenes, giving them a taste of management can only do good things. Yes, can everything be done by 1 GM? Sure. But, that's not the point. The point is to have that person ready to take over if there was an open position. You give the person the chance and opportunity to show what they can bring to a team. I always loved bringing in @Viperxhawks19 as he had no experience in the GM area, so bringing him in would bring someone in that is dedicated to a position and would show that they can be a great GM. He learned how to use STHS, the portal, and everything else of what it means to be a GM in the VHL. I feel like that should be the purpose of a AGM. I go along with a lot of what @Sonnet said, but not necessarily to replace you, but to replace anyone. It's never a bad idea to have a steady stream of people who HAVE experience in being a GM. What better way to get experience than that of an AGM.

1) The playoffs are here! The stakes are higher, the intensity increases. What is it you like most about playoff hockey? I love everything about playoffs. It is physical, so much higher intensity as you mentioned. It is fantastic. 2) It looks like we’re going to be facing Las Vegas in the first round. We went 6-1 against them in the regular season. How do you think the series will go? It is going to be a great, long series. I think the GM that did the drafting and composing of the team is a great human, so they built a good team. 3) Vegas’ high-powered offense is led by Pengu, Joe Proto, Vladimir Shaposhnikov, and Jeff Blaze. Anything you want to say to them? I want to say good luck! I wish nothing but the best for Vegas. 4) Las Vegas is a city where you can do anything you want. We’ll have a couple days there during our away games. How do you plan to spend your time there? Oh, don't worry about it. I will not be giving out that information. It's for me to know! 5) How can we annoy the Aces during their post-game press conferences? Eat poptarts, I think that will annoy them a lot. 6) Philadelphia was(?) the home to many secret societies, like the State in Schuylkill. What secret society would you create and be the leader of? I will be the poptart society. We come together and eat a poptart every day. -
