Bratislava AGM situation
 
I am not gonna sit here and lie and tell you all that this was an easy decision for me. As a GM I have actively stood behind my decision to not have an GM (There have been previously situations when I have broken that rule of mine). This time, I have made a decision that I want a companion or squire for Bratislava Watchmen as my time zone situation can be a bit rough and I surely can use a member to help me out with that. 

Sadly, this is not going to be an application thread as more of an announcement as I have already selected my AGM and have worked closely with him for the past week. I would like to congratulate Mr. @Zetterbergwho recently stepped down in VHLM on this new assignment. Zetterberg will join Bratislava front office squad and become my right hand man.

Because I know that literally all of you care about what's going on in my life, here's an update!

It was just over a week ago that @LuluSalesAway and I found out we were having a son. It's incredibly exciting knowing that our son is growing and changing inside of her, and it has completely consumed our lives in a good way. We've been making the registry, preparing the nursery, learning more about parenting, and just preparing ourselves for parenthood. It's exciting, scary, amazing, and intimidating all in one. All of this is going alongside my job at a new church, in a new town, in a new state (though we are from here originally). We are meeting countless new people, making great connections, filling our schedules with so much to do. I never realized how busy my late 20s were going to be.
 
Well, yesterday was a bit of a stressful/good day. Morning worship at church was great, as was Sunday School. In fact, Sunday School is almost always amazing because I don't have to teach and I actually get to enjoy being present without having to be prepared or concerned. I spend all week preparing for worship, and to not have to worry about Sunday School is a breath of fresh air! What made it even better was that we had a few visitors checking out the church, and a couple of them stuck around for Sunday School as well. 
 
After all of the fun I went home and began working on a few other projects, also preparing for the start of another semester of seminary. I'm only 5 classes away from my Master's Degree, so I'm really pushing hard to make sure I don't fizzle out. Well, because our church gives a lot of money out to various organizations and camps, I'm often invited to be present at certain events. I was asked to be present at a ground breaking event for a ministry we support who is building an addition on to their cafeteria. I thought I was only going to be driving 20ish minutes to get there (remember, I'm new to the area), but as I pulled it up on my map it was actually just over an hour! So, I had to rush so I wasn't late, and I ended up getting there just in time. It was outside, it was hot and muggy, I was still in my dress clothes, and I was exhausted already. So, this event wasn't the greatest for me, but it was good to learn about the ministry more.

After I got home @Eldredman wanted me to get online and play World of Warcraft with him (what am I, a nerd? yes). I was just so tired that I declined, laid on my couch watching TV, and then got around for bed.
 
Here's where things get really good.
 
I was in our bathroom brushing my teeth when I hear Larissa say, 
"Quick, come here. He's kicking!"
 
I threw down my toothbrush, rinsed quick, and ran to the bed. And, it happened.
 
For the first time, I felt my son kick. I know, it may not seem like a big deal, but anything that happens that reassures me that things are going well is a win. Plus, I don't get to carry my son. I don't get to feel that he's really there like Larissa does, so to feel him kick is such an amazing thing. I had been spending the last few weeks just hoping to feel something, and it finally happened. All of my exhaustion and stress from the day vanished and I found myself restless due to excitement.
 
I know fatherhood has to be endlessly stressful and tiring, but it's something I've wanted for a very long time, and I can't wait.

Hello VHL! It has been a long long time. I am an original member, a S1 expansion draftee and Hall of Fame member. I joined this league so many years ago and checked it multiple times a day for years. I have not been active for years now but still every few months I check out and make sure it’s still running smooth. 
 
I am not sure if I will recreate or not at the moment. The itch to be apart of it again is there but I have recently just started my own business and I am staying pretty busy. I recently quit my full time job to do freelance graphic design fulltime! I owe it all to the VHL. I joined this league with no experience whatsoever with graphics or photoshop at all and through the help of the members in this league I found a passion that they helped me build and develop into a skill I can make a living off of. 
 
I wanted to pop my head in and give away a stock pack to anyone that wants it! I recently uploaded some resources to my website and would love to pass it along to anyone that would find it useful on this site.

Cameron Elsby is a S81 VHL Draft eligible defenseman but most of all a S80 VHLM Draft eligible prospect, who hails from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. His older brother, Spencer Elsby, was drafted by the Philadelphia Reapers in the S72 VHLM Dispersal Draft and played briefly for the Missisauga Hounds prior to the draft in S71.
 
Prior to his time in the GNML and NOJHL, Elsby played youth hockey for Soo Greyhounds U14 AAA, Soo Thunder U15 AAA and the Soo Thunderbirds U16 AAA as an underager and Captained the team the following season Also representing team NOHA at the OHL Cup as well as being selected to Team White of the U-17 Team Canada Roster. Elsby was drafted 21st overall by the London Knights with the last pick in the first round in the 2021 OHL Priority Draft and was poised to make his OHL debut in 2021-2022
 
Due to COVID-19, Elsby didn’t play in the OHL this year. But, was named to Canada’s U18 roster at the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championships in Frisco, Texas and Plano, Texas. Elsby recorded one point in the tournament. He had recorded an assist when he fired a stretch pass at the blue-line in the neutral zone, his teammate collected the pass and scored a snap shot goal from the perimeter.
 
After an outstanding rookie season with the Thunderbirds', I was fully confident that Elsby would rise in people’s rankings when the OHL eventually got back on the ice for the 2020-21 season, but that didn’t end up happening. As a result, he is taking the best of his situation in making the transition to the VHLM for the end of the S79 Season creating a chance to prove to people he could be drafted in the first three rounds, even though the talent is there. Picking Elsby in the late rounds could be a real bang for your buck pick when we look back on it 10 years from now.
 
At this point, the next time that Elsby is scheduled to play again is when the today with the Mississauga Hounds as his season kicks off while the Hounds are continuing there playoff rush Elsby has now joined. Potentially, we could see Elsby play at the VHLM/VHLE Top Prospects tournament in Sault Ste Marie Michigan, but the rosters are not finalized yet. There is still much to learn about Cameron Elsby as he is such a RAW Talent with so many uncertainties and unknowns, the public is dying to know more and hopefully we will get to know more about this towering defenseman.

During this S79 VHLM season, Jakub Brozik has slumped in production compared to his first season. The team is doing better, and Brozik hasn't been a very key piece. With the switch over to Center, Brozik has been able to win some draws for his team, but not able to produce as much. However, can he step up during the rest of the season? Will Brozik be able to reach that PPG pace once again?
 
With this stacked team, Brozik has relaxed on scoring points it seems. It appears he is focusing on winning instead of scoring, will this attitude last? Brozik might have to step up production-wise come playoffs, otherwise this team may not have a shot. Will he be able to help the team AND score? Will he stop helping all together? Will Jakub Brozik ever return to his PPG form? Will Brozik get the Hounds a cup before he leaves the VHLM?
 
With all of this being said, tune in next week to... Episode II: Attack of the Broziks... to see if Brozik has stepped up on offense and is able to help his team produce.
