  1. 1. With their very impressive starts; how big of pick ups were Barry Bonds Jr. and Bill Nye for Miami?
It doesn't seem to have translated on the ice just yet, but they both have great potential. Nye might be a little too balanced right now, but players like that can grow into their role after a few years. Bonds has some muscle on him, just like his pops, and he can throw it around.

    2. Who on the team do you think has the most potential in their VHL career?

In addition to having an awesome name, Poopy Peepants plays like a great all-around defenseman who can do everything well. Players like that can go far in their careers.

    3. If you’re in the VHLM again next season what would you want from Miami as an organization to fill your needs and desire to stay?!

I'm definitely going to be in the VHLM again next season...I joined Miami off the bat because I know the general manager from back in the day, which isn't the case with most teams, but for a full season I'd definitely prefer the team be more competitive than it is this year,

    4. What is your personal highlight of this season as a Marauder?

I know defensemen aren't always the best scorers, so it's been nice to kick off my career as a point-per-game player, even if it's just through a handful of games.

    5. Do you read a lot of books? (If so what is your favorite)

Not lately, but I love the Witcher stuff so I've read through those books when I've had the chance. I loved the games and the show, and from what I've read the books seem just as good.

    6. Do you have any tattoos? (How many and if not would you want one)

Nah, dude, I'm a chameleon. My skin is cool enough without ink.

@Hybrid1486 Hello old friend! I returned from a 3 year hiatus last season, and I also think Discord is lame and impossible to keep up with! Though I kind of try to do so anyway.

    Welcome back :)

I am also on Miami, but stupid VHLM teams don’t have a locker room on the forum anymore 😒

Remember that one time we did something like a 3 hour podcast and it was amazing and awful at the same time?

    We go way back!

Miami is re-tooling but this means we have TONS of playing time available and a lot of people that would love to have more people on the team to hang out with and play with! If you want to play a ton of minutes and just have a boatload of fun, come join Miami. Quote this to accept!

I know you, so I'm in

Kind of, IMO. Discord is still the number 1 source of activity. I’d imagine a few LR’s on the forum are active but nothing even comparable to the good days.

Would be awesome to see you return though!

Meh, prolly not then...Discord always seems to suck the fun out of things for me, I join it in relation to something I like but then I have to be connected all the damn time and it becomes a chore

But it was nice to see random PMs from last year saying I was missed...thanks for that

  5. Is being active in the Discord still unofficially part of being able to be relevant in the VHL? I've popped on the site a couple times lately since I'm off school for a bit but I still hate Discord so if not being on it means it's going to be impossible for me to be anything besides a bit player then I'll just go back to my regularly-scheduled life

  6. I'm not going to waste anyone's time/draft picks since I'm not into the VHL at all anymore. Given that I don't recruit (since my internet presence is almost nil outside of Twitter and Facebook) and I'm not particularly into Discord, I feel like the league has moved away from where I can be involved to the level I'd like to be. I'm not saying this is bad (clearly it's not, given the crazy uptick in activity lately), it's just not for me. Best of luck to y'all.

  8. Since last week was a theme week, I didn't get a chance to properly explain my sudden retirement of one of the top ten TPE players in the middle of his prime, so I'll go ahead and do that now.

Simply put, I just got tired of Slipher. At the beginning of his career I thought his stats were held back by being on a three-line team, especially in that monster offensive season of S62. This season, though, I realized he was just destined to be an okay player. He was a fixture in the mid-20's in the scoring ranks, and somehow didn't manage to eclipse my personal record of 33 goals in a season (set by Alex Stoyanovich in S20) despite having a scoring rating in the 90's for most of his career.

So, yawn. I got tired of putting in work for a guy who was struggling to really do anything and decided to take a stronger interest in a defenseman. I was going to go with a goalie, but I still can't make sense of the market there. I've never put a ton into a defender aside from the beginning of Clint Guite's career, and he ended up being a dud of a first overall pick, so I don't know how this will go.

That said, Slipher set my new personal bar with over 850 TPE. That's barely over halfway to the record, and inflation definitely factors in, but still. That's worth something. I'm hoping he can cap his career off with an upset string in the playoffs and my first Continental Cup with an active player.
