After flying to the top of the league last week, the Legion have gone 5-5 in their last 10 games and sit at 13-9-2. How has the team handled the up and down start to the season so far?
These things happen, what we need to take away from this is that when the puck wasn't going our way, we managed to put up a .500 record.
While the team-defense has been the focus of the off-season, Goalie Jaxx Hextall has continued to be a shining light for the team. His .930 save percentage is 2nd in the country, despite nearly leading the league in shot attempts against. How does the team feel about how he's playing right now?

Newcomers Teemu Lehtinen Jr. and Anthony Matthews are on pace for career years. How has their play shaped the team on offense, thus far?
By grinding it out, and showing that you are never too old to have a career year.  Plus it makes you think what would have happened if other GMs had given them a chance earlier...instead of burying them on the 2nd line.
Chad Magnum is also having his best start to a season after being selected as team captain. How would you describe Magnum's leadership?
I have always walked to the beat of my own drum.  I may not wear the "C", but I act like it...Maggie's been a great counterpart for when I got nothing.
Erik Killinger and the Gutzwiler twins all three made the switch to defense this season and the team has seen an improvement. What can you say about their progression so far?
They are Killing it and playing their Gutz out.
Before the season, Toronto had modest expectations for S72. How has the start of the year changed the mindset around the year, if any?
I'd like to say I walked in and turned the radio up, but that is a lame reason to be seen as a leader.  My mindset was always to win, so for me it's never changed.  We have just made a our lovely GMs job a little bit harder.

1. Getting tossed by Seattle in the Conference Finals sucks, what should we have done differently after we started to go down in the series?
 
Got on HHH's case more...this is his MO - disappear when needed.
 
2. What are your plans for this offseason?
 
Same thing I do every offseason...
 
3. What are your expectations for next season?
 
To play, to win, to be there for HHH.  He needs me to bring out the best in him.  Also for him to actually do something in the playoffs.
 
4. Who do you think will win the S71 Cup?
 
It doesn't matter anymore.
 
5. Who do you think our top individual playoff performer was for S71?
 
Matthews...it's not all about stats...
 
6. Do you prefer Surf or Turf? 
 
I've never really been a surfer, more of a football and soccer player.
 
7. What is our biggest weakness as a team and is it going to get better or worse for S72?
 
HHH, probably worse, everything goes to his head.
 
8. Are you excited to play in the S71 AllStar game?
 
I just can't wait...but how did I get in there?

1. What was your favourite moment of the Season 71 regular season?
 
Being traded to the Wolf pack
 
2. What is your mindset going into these playoffs this time around?
 
Same thing it was back in Yukon...help win the cup while carrying HHH's ass when he disappears.
 
3. Who would you say has improved the most this season?
 
Me.  I went from Davos to Vancouver.  The bottom to the top...you can't get any better than that!  It's like I walk into a hotel and have no reservations.  Then suddenly they move me to the penthouse.
 
4. Who was the most underrated this season?
 
HHH, no one gives him credit.  Sure I talk about him not carrying his weight all the time, but he does, he's just wasn't consistent in Yukon...plus our GM insisted on playing him centre and me on the wing.  HHH was more of a natural winger at that stage in his career.  I think he's smartened up... I like to think that was my influence on him.
 
5. Who do you think will be nominated for the all star game?
 
The Davos GM...took a lot to get someone to see through the stats that Davos players put up and get me out of there.
 
6. Where is the first place you would want to take the Cup to celebrate?
 
I already did that in Las Vegas.
 
7. If you resigned here, what made you want to stay a Wolf?
 
The need to keep HHH on the right path...we don't want him to go off the rails and start crouch chopping everyone.  Someone needs to keep him in check, looks like the Beavs has tagged that as my job.
 
8. What do you think our team’s identity was this season?
 
Wolves hunt together (I modified Ducks fly together, but it works)

1. TIME TRAVEL NOISES. You are yourself, 5 years before you joined the league. Today's you suddenly appears, tells you about the VHL, and asks you to sign up. Are you interested, and do you do it?
 
Yes.
 
2. New York is NOT off to a good start! What can we do to make it worse?
 
Why are we worried about others?  Why not trying to make our start better?
 
3. Who on our team is most likely to show up to a game drunk?
 
Gustav
 
4. The team holds a cookout for charity. What do you make?
 
Punch and Pie.  More people will come if there is punch and pie.
 
5. Our #1 goaltender and returning starter Samuel Ross has somewhat struggled, while our #2 guy Pekka Pouta has put up decent numbers, all things considered. Who do we trust most to take down New York in this coming run of sims?
 
Why don't we look at who can help right the ship?  Perhaps Pekka needs to take a run and Ross needs to know that the job isn't just his.
 
6. How are you, in real life, affected by the current situation? Are you doing OK job-wise, time-wise, people-wise, all that stuff? What's changed for you?
 
Job-wise: I took an unpaid leave for this semester (still doing the odd supply work - two days a week), my wife is also a teacher, so we still have work.
Time-wise: The days seem to fly by pretty quickly with my two boys keeping us busy.
People-wise: I've got my family around me so I'm pretty good.  I wasn't that social, but the one thing I do miss is getting together for a games night.

1. We keep beating New York and really nobody else. What's the deal with that?
 
That's easy, we put more pucks in the net than they do.  Either that or our GM paid them off...
 
2. Just recently I announced that I'd be bringing in @Proto as AGM, to help keep our locker room active and to teach him some stuff about running a team. Thoughts? Should I have hired someone else or did I make the right decision?
 
Only time will tell.
 
3. What was your first season in the VHL and what memory from that season stands out to you the most?
 
It was my 3rd pro season, after having a break though final season of the minors, it was back to where I started in my first season, 3rd line duties.
 
4. What's one thing you don't like about this league? Is there anything I could be doing as GM to change that and make it a more positive experience?
 
Dunno, this is my first go around.
 
5. Let's assume our top pick in this draft lands in the top four. Who would you most want to see on our team? (Keep in mind that Killinger is headed to Toronto as Peace's player)
 
I'm not the GM, stop asking us to do your job for you
 
6. Who do you think will win the cup this season?
 
Riga  - I have trained them well.  That is assuming we don't win.

2) Who do you expect to show up & do well in the WJC? Will they win?
Team Canada should do fine....I hear they have a player from Team World that made the All-Tournament team playing for them now.
 
3) We've had a few recent losses, mostly OTLs, against the Titans. What are they doing better than us?
I think the answer is fairly simple there.  They have a locker room policy of 'Get Under HHH's Skin'.  They get him off his game, he can't score the game winner like he's supposed to do.
 
4) Malmo dropped from 2nd/3rd to 7th over the last couple of sims. Is this a bad set of sims, or is there something going on?
It's like in baseball, you play enough games, you will eventually find out who is the best team.
 
6) How much will the VHL need to expand (in a few seasons maybe) if S67 and S68 are comparable to S66? Are you worried about being taken away by an expansion team?
Why expand, when you can offer GMs the ability to play 3-4 lines (with endurance/fatigue turned on)
 
7) Do you follow any leagues outside the VHL? Are you buddies with any players we should know about?
Like you mean the VHLM?  That's the only league I know of other than the VHL.  Unless you mean like minor hockey...
 
8 ) Let's say the whole VHL is entered into a Hunger Games-style tournament. Who dies first, and who's alive at the end (can't choose yourself!)?
Apparently Riga is looking good - they can't stay out of the sin bin, so they must be tough....either that or whiny wimps that need to play dirty to win.
 
9) What's the most-played song on your Spotify/iTunes/Pandora at the moment?
More of a podcast right now.  I'm just listening to it for one segment, unless I'm interested in the guest.
 
10) You're in a battle for your life with the devil/grim reaper, and he says you can choose the game/contest you want to play to live. What is it, and why?
Battleship, Clue, Magnetic Football, and Twister.   Forgot to add the why, but if you don't know what I'm talking about, I don't want to be your friend.
