Well, I'll be honest. I was originally gonna quit most of my sim leagues, and really focus my time on getting better in life and taking care of some personal stuff. I had cut down to really two, three leagues that I wanted to follow and focus on. I left a ton of locker rooms and really really winded stuff down. I was at peace that at most, I would be a 3 league guy.

Anyway, as you can tell, that clearly didn't happen. I'm still around, active in some leagues more than others, but i'm still doing point tasks, and I even have a team here! I have to admit, I've spent more time here than I initially thought, and the times that I've been active here a were a ton of fun. I had no idea what was going on my first season here, but the Marlins gave me a home and really helped me ease into things. I really learned a lot about how to run a team and what good coaching can do, and honestly the lessons here really honed my own coaching abilities and set a standard that personally, I have yet to match. I was totally confused when I was drafted - I had no idea how your draft system works if you are midseason joiner, but hey, it was pretty cool. I bounced around a lot in the minor leagues, including returning to the Marlins, and going to the Aces and the Wild. I've had some awesome times in the locker rooms (especially in the height of my Pokemon Mystery Dungeon playing days), and got to know a few names.

I'm going to be starting my 2nd players soon in a few leagues. I think I'm going to give it another shot here. I have no idea if I'll be able to stay active, or if I'll even make the majors (I didn't last time haha). I'm basically a zombie in the Kings locker through no fault of their own (I haven't cleaned my discord as much as I'd like, and there are some servers I want to leave that I haven't been able to pull the trigger yet), but I feel like it's worth being here. The community has been pretty awesome to me every single time I've been engaged, and while i'm not sure if there is value in a 4 of 6 point guy a week, I'm gonna see what happens.

    1. Season 70 is now underway. How well do you think we did in the first sim? - I thought it went very well. Our offense showed what it's capable of and that we're going to be a force to be reckoned with. There's still some rough spots to iron out, but things could have gone far worse.
    2. What are your personal statistical goals for this season? - I've stated before that I hope to get 30 goals and over 300 hits. With three goals in the first five games and a VHLM-leading 24 hits, I'm on track so far.
    3. We currently sit in fourth place. Do you think that is an accurate position of where we will be at the end of the season? - Not at all. We're sitting one point behind third place with only having played five games while the top teams have played six. If that shootout against Ottawa goes our way, we're in third place with a game in hand. Nothing to worry about.
    4. Which VHLer do you hope to model your game after? - Trying to be someone else never got me anywhere in life, so that's how I'm going to approach making the VHL. I've got to play my game, not someone else's.
    5. Who has been the biggest locker room presence thus far? - We've got a pretty active group, a good bunch. It's hard to say one is a bigger influence than the other when the whole place is buzzing.
    6. We recently acquired King Kruul via trade. What will his impact be on the team? - Tremendous. I played with Kruul last season on Halifax and he is a valuable asset on the blue line. He was second in the VHLM in hits and he'll make a great pairing with Roque Davis. Our defensive group is in really nice shape with his addition.

    Hi @Members,

There is 1 small change to announce this off-season but I think it's a pain point we will all appreciate being addressed. The number of questions required to earn 1 TPE in Team or Player Press Conferences has been reduced from 5 to 3.

    Revised Press Conference Rules:
All players can earn up to 2 Capped TPE per week through Press Conferences, by way of any combination of the following:
1 TPE for asking 5 3 unique questions in any team or other players press conferences 1 TPE for answering 3 questions in your own team or player press conference

Things are going well, for those who are curious my son has taken to the chemo well. Things looking up, my wife and daughter are both in good health. My job, settled down again after our usualy christmas rush people blowing fuses left and right trying to make beautiful houses for the holidays.

The few months fully away from the league, and the about half a year i was barely active. Given me a nice breather. I dont really desire to join this season. As the draft just occured, or is going too soon? So figure another couple months away for another season will give me a nice breather.

It also brings me to my next topic. As always my player will be russian national, he will be a Komarov. However i want to give the league, the choice in his first name, can not be Sergei, Vladimir, Pavel, or Evgeni as they have graced the league already. As well as what position/player arch i should be. I will rule out goalie right away as i was never a TPE whore, to be an elite goalie so that position makes no sense.

So with both members of Yukon management vacating their positions, this is the perfect time to give the job to someone who has been waiting patiently and applying to a lot of openings. Normally, we post apps - future positions, we will likely do so again. However, there's a guy who's been consistently one of the top guys in a lot of the previous app postings, and when there's a clean opening like this without having to take an AGM inheritance into consideration, it's a good opportunity to clear out a deserved member of the backlog.

Some of you know this appointment already, others will probably have suspected something fishy when he claimed "fired" in his discord handle, but taking over Yukon with time to get his prep in order is

@MexicanCow @MexicanCow123 (not sure which one is your newer one)

Also it would help me learn a lot more about the league as a whole. I am a hard worker, who has some free time on evenings and weekends, and would definitely be able to give you the most help I could. I know this is a shot in the dark, but it's worth a shot anyways. If you got any question or want to have a chat just let me know. Thanks, take care.

I would just like to say that you know that I am already helping with scouting so you know that I can help you with that! I’ve been active for a while now, playing for your team, I believe i’ve been active for 5 weeks. I am very willing to learn and take in any tips, suggestions, or advice that you wish to give me! I am very committed to this team, and I am dedicated to making it better, know matter how bad or good it can be. I’m used to being the underdog, so being a bad team will it affect me. I have a never quit type of personality. I’ve already learned a lot from you, and I know what it’s like to have fun as a player. I know that there is a time to be serious and a time to be funny. I am willing to take time out of my day, to make sure players are at their maximum happiness on your team. I am very good at setting, and suggesting lineups. I have practiced almost my whole life, to be a NHL GM. Now I am chasing that dream! You know that I am good at Scouting and recruitment. I have a lot of free time to do this stuff. I am very active on discord, and help with creating forums for the team a lot!

To all other applicants trying out, I wish you the best of luck. Rockstar, I will jot be mad if you don’t pick me, I just hope for the best for this team going forward, and if that means a different AGM than me, so be it. You’ll always be one of the best GM’s ever!

    Hello everyone,

It's been a little while since I've had to do this, however @MexicanCow123 has been officially relieved of his duties. After teaching him everything I know, setting him up for massive success and having him be an absolute legend, it's time for a new prodigy to be born. I have no doubt in my mind that he will be a great GM some day with all of the stuff he has learned over our time together and I really truly believe he's even helped me become a better GM.

With that being said, I'm a very fun GM, I'm an active GM but if you're going to be my AGM, I want someone who:

    > Is Active
    > Willing to learn
    > Is committed to the team regardless of results
    > Willing to go above and beyond for the sake of players fun

If that is you, this is what the job entails:
    > Setting lines/tactics when I am unavailable to do so
    > Recommending line/tactics whenever you god dang please
    > Recruitment (this is a biggie)
    > Draft Scouting
    > Discord & Forum Engagement

I'll field some applications for a bit, see how peoples activity levels have been, and then make a decision immediately when I feel I have found the right candidate. I know the tasks seems like a lot but you're taking over from one hell of an AGM who has done a lot for this team, and I don't really care for slackers.

Anyone who watched the stream already knows but hot damn did it like generating the same number multiple times. 2 people won twice despite having over 100 numbers to choose from. Of course we want the prizes to go to as many people as possible so they didn’t ACTUALLY win twice, I just hit re-draw on the lower tiers. As I mentioned on the stream, if you would prefer a prize in a lower tier than what you have won just let us know and we’ll accommodate that instead. We’ll be getting in touch with all the winners soon to get shipping and stuff sorted out. So, enough talking, who won?

Tier 1 - $10 VHL Donation x10 winners  - No actual cash value but the equivalent rewards of a normal $10 VHL Donation. You can claim your prize in the regular donation index, just link back to here to show you won.
@eaglesfan036 @DaftRaincloud @JeffD @Cusemode @Jayrad28 @ROOKIE745 @Grant @PadStack @McWolf @KC15 @GRZ* * I feel bad because I looked at the wrong number and initially announced the winner as GRZ. Considering this prize costs the league nothing I have decided to give it to GRZ as well on account of the confusion.

Tier 2 - VHL Merch x5 winners - Beaviss can confirm but we were aiming for a $20 value here so I believe this means a VHL T-Shirt. He can also confirm if the designs for every team are ready or if it will be a VHL Logo version. The blue team will be in touch with you about claiming this to get your sizing and shipping information.
    @Sonnet @diamond_ace @Phil @Beaviss @Peace
Tier 3 - NHL 20 x3 winners - A copy of the latest VHL ripoff EA Sports NHL game for whichever console you’d like. The blue team will be in touch with you about claiming this to get your console choice and shipping information.
    @studentized @Motzaburger @Patrik Tallinder
Tier 4 - NHL Jersey x1 winner - Finally the big boy. $250 value to a single person. A Jersey of any NHL team and player (or custom) that you’d like. The blue team will be in touch with you about claiming this to get your sizing and shipping information.
    @MMFLEX
Congrats to all who won and I hope you all enjoyed your VHL 12 days of Christmas!

As most people have seen by now it seems like San Diego are clearing house, the GM has look at the sheer strength of other teams in the upcoming season like Mexico City and Saskatoon and made the tough decision that the Marlins don't have the assets to compete at that level for a championship. Therefore players are being shipped out to various destinations in return for picks in future drafts as San Diego move onto a rebuild. Some fans will be devastated given that last seasons playoff performance was perhaps the pinnacle of the franchise in recent years, taking Vegas to a hard found 6 game series where every game was decided by a single goal. Others will see the move as a necessary component of how the league runs in cycles and that the GMs flexibility in accepting the hard truths will lead to a brighter future for the team.

    San Diego receives:
    John DuBolk
    Ryan Dingle
    S70 MEX 1st
    S70 MEX 2nd

    Mexico City receives:
    Markus Nygren @Devise

Big hitting LW Nygren moves on to a contender in Mexico City as the Marlins snag a couple of decent picks in return. He chipped in with 9 assists and goal in limited minutes but was definitely an impact on the game in other ways with 192 hits.

    Mexico City receives:
    Daldo @Harpskii

    San Diego receives:
    Kels Mills
    Little RiDog
    S70 MIS 3rd
    S71 MEX 1st
    S71 MEX 4th

The young winger Daldo joins his teammate in Mexico City as well, the backup forward provided a spark off the bench for the Marlins last season, providing 19 assists and finding the net himself 14 times.

    Halifax receives:
    King Kruul @LefLop
    S71 SDM 2nd

    San Diego receives:
    S71 HFX 1st

Another trade see's arguably the Marlins best defensive player last season move onward to Halifax this time and the Marlins move up a round in the draft in return. Kruul lead the entire league in hits last season by a wide margin, 270 hits put him 21 ahead of the 2nd place and he's sure to shore up the Halifax defence.

    San Diego receives:
    S71 MIS 1st
    S71 MIS 2nd
    S71 MIS 4th

    Mississauga receives:
    Will Clarke @Will

Arguably the biggest trade of the lot so far. Will clarke was one of the standout stars in San Diego last season and his production from the defensman spot played a huge part in the Marlins late season resurgence to make the playoffs. He had the most points of any defenceman with 37-60-97. He excels as well in power play situations, tallying up 21 of his goals in power plays, which is tied for the most in the league.

Despite these moves there's a still a fair amount of talent left on the roster that we might see on the move soon, most notably the star RW Roadkill Steve @stevo, he had a stunning season from the forward spot hitting 63 goals and 65 assists. The 3rd highest point total in the league last season, there's no doubt though that there's a fairly heavy price on his head set by the Marlins GM, as talent like Steve doesn't come around often, especially as he's likely going into his last year in the VHLM. The other lesser RW on the team likely up for grabs is Raleigh Ritchie who netted 45 goals and 40m assists last year after making significant strides since coming back from injury in the off-season last year and is making some name for himself despite being selected 61st in the S68 VHL draft.
