Though I guess I did change jobs somewhat recently so I can update this thread, regulating derivatives (basically two parties trading contracts based on some asset, could be a commodity like oil/wheat/gold or could be trading financial instruments like interest rates on loans or currencies). It's not a government job but government adjacent I guess?  Anyways it's a lot of verifying that big ass companies or high asset companies are following the rules for trading derivatives and futures so we don't have another 2008 crisis and that companies that work with retail customers don't defraud them through illegal market practices by colluding to influence market prices or wildly trading without having the capital on hand to cover losses.

@RinI was going to college for Comp Sci but recently changed the Data Sci, we’ll see how it goes!

I'm a case worker for adults with Medicaid. Connecting individuals to local community services and providing education, information, and assistance in establishing holistic Healthcare with a focus on proper mental health support and maintaining that treatment. Been doing it for close to 6 months now. There's an annoying amount of paperwork involved I'll be honest. Every client requires an up-to-date crisis/suicide safety plan, anxiety and depression screening, service assessment, metabolic screening, Wellness plan, and DLA-20 (evaluates functionability in 20 areas of life). Needs vary a lot between clients and everyone is different so at the very least I don't get bored.

Earlier this week, I went to another interview conducted in english - no F bomb this time haha. It was for Quality Control for Excalibur Army, the biggest Czech manufacturer of military vehicles and equipment.

Well, I had my medical examination done today, I'm signing the contract next week and starting training on March 3.

This is actually the first time in my life I'm switching jobs, even though I'm 30. It was about time to change something, I guess. Not that much of a payraise compared to my current job, but a new experience for sure.

(There went my plan to put 40+ hours into KCD2 during Fri, Sat and Sun lol)

Forgot to update here--

Put in my 2 weeks for current job last Friday, was accepted for a position with a locally based software company as a DevOps Engineer! Little bit of a career shift, but the team seems so much more fun and the benefits are so much better than my current situation. Moving on from a dead end into something that I might actually be able to put time into and grow with.

SAP is such a huge software that even if you are experienced with the Software you are going to have to learn how they are using the program but it is a very friendly program as everything is actually on-line. Most companies only use part of the program to do what they want it to do and maybe not even in the correct manner.

So...I work with SAP S 4/HANA now lol. The HR department loves it. The financial department loves it. All departments love it...except for us, the mechanical engineering department. But who gives a damn about mechanical engineering department in...checks notes...engineering. Right? It really seems like primarly an accounting program to me. So unintuitive for our purposes.

Well I was in grad school to get my PhD in Linguistics. But I dropped out after 3 years because Academia is a joke and a scam. So now I’m working for a pharmaceutical market research company as a data analyst. So I spend my days cleaning and checking the data and then populating the decks with said data so it can be sold to clients.

Are you using the program for PP (Production Planning) , PM (Production Management), MM (Material Management) or QM (Quality Management) ? As it doesn`t sound like you are using with ECM (Engineering Management) or ECC (Engineering Control Center); which are meant for Engineering. So yeah, if you are only using PP, PM, MM and QM aspect of SAP then yeah it is very much an accounting program.

Which is why I stated most companies don`t use SAP correctly or only use part of the program!! This sound very much like the issue and it is likely due to cost of the full program of SAP isn`t cheap and the company has found work arounds at the expense of the Engineers!!

See if you have CC01 or CCUNDO commands as that is the quick way to find out if you have access to ECM and ECC!! Based on my quick search doesn`t sound like HANA has these aspects so you might be SOL!!

Mostly Material Master, some CS stuff (for Bills of Material, idk what does it stand for lol), CA (for Routing)

I'm a "production attorney"/supervisor in the rights and clearance department for a television production company.  Thank god I never have to go to court!

I'm a mother fucking florist.

I do everything from at home deliveries to weddings and large events.  I'm mostly the face of the company.  During the week I sell weddings, answer the phone, coordinate with vendors, purchase, answer emails, etc. then Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays I'm on site setting up the weddings and events.

does being an actuary count, aka math for insurance pricing, it's thrilling. but have a co-op for it this summer :)

Did you ever go through with this? I'm an Inland Marine Territory Manager for a carrier and @eaglesfan036 is in the industry as well.

Yeah I did a co-op last summer doing pricing for whole/universal life. It was mostly updating rates for savings accounts in the product, updating assumptions in the model, auditing other teams who were using our model, and some other product strategy stuff. Was super cool actually.

Then this summer I'm going back to the same company but in adjustable valuation this time (not really sure what it is yet but from my understanding just making sure there's enough money reserved for all the adjustable products and making all the reports and stuff). Start on Monday actually lol

Currently unemployed, no luck with summer internships, moved over the year so my last go to job isn't an option anymore! Guess it's time for summer classes!

What a wonderful time to be a young adult making their way in the world! I'd offer luck, but you don't want mine!

This is a cool thread.

I’m a college professor in mechanical engineering at a big R1 university! I teach and do research; my group works in understanding the mechanics of soft matter when exposed to really fast energies like ultrasound or lasers.

Ngl, love nearly every part of my job, but the people are the best part.

Alright, sitting in my office, not much to do (most of the company took Friday off, considering it was state holiday yesterday), so I'm lookin at SAP (Fiori launchpad). Nope, I don't have these commands.

Transactions I've mostly been working so far:

- Production Planning (MRP): MD02, MD04, CA01, CA02, CA03

- Production Planning (BOM): CS01, CS02, CS03, CS12, CS15

- Materials Management: MM01, MM02, MM03, MM06, MIGO, MMBE, MI09

- Controlling module (Costing): CK11N, CK13N, CK40N, CK24

All our Project Engineers are partially SAP admins from the look of it lol. We pretty much maintain everything related to our projects in SAP as well. Create the materials and BOMs we work with, making sure materials that have been replaced are flagged for deletion, making sure all our materials are properly costed etc. Basically the company doesn't want to hire an extra guy who would take care of these SAP management things, so they just train us tp do these tasks related to our projects ourselves. But the pay is good, so I'm not complaining that much lol.

I started in March in QC for the company, but they soon moved me to mechanical engineering as a project engineer. I hadn't originally applied for this position, because I didn't have proper experience, but I guess fellow project engineers liked me lol
