Hi everyone, and welcome to the first installment of our Top 10 series, today we will be looking at the top 10 forwards in the VHL right now. All these forwards are having remarkable seasons and are a major reason for their team’s success. While you are here be sure to check out some of the other recent VSN posts!

VHLM Illustrated Edition 3 5/15/2022 | VHL's All-Decade Team: S21-S30

:chi: #10 - The Board Game Clue on Skates @MubbleFubbles :chi:

While not the highest TPE player on the list, The Board Game Clue On Skates has been a major reason for Chicago’s success this season. Currently, they lead all rookies in scoring with 73 points and sit 8th in goals with 32. Additionally, they have been fairly physical with 89 hits and 19 blocked shots. The Board Game Clue On Skates has a very bright future and will more than likely go home with some hardware at the end of the season as they are the run-away candidate for the top rookie award.

:sea: #9 - AJ Williams @ajwllmsn :sea:

AJ Williams has had a breakout season and is only 4 points back from their previous career high of 85 points. Currently Williams is a major reason for Seattle’s success this season with 37 goals and 44 assists for a total of 81 points. Williams has also done a great job of staying out of the penalty box and only has 5 penalty minutes.

:prg: #8 - Reylynn Reinhart @Ricer13 :prg:

Now with Prague, Reinhart has continued their production from their time in Calgary and is already up to 34 goals and 39 assists for 73 points in 54 games played. Reinhart also has had more shots this season than ever before with 464. Lastly, Reinhart is the focal point of Prague’s offense alongside Luc Tessier and Baby Bob who are also having incredible seasons.

:tor: #7 - Kyle Peace @Peace :tor:

The season 80 5th overall pick, Kyle Peace already has his 3rd consecutive point per game season with 37 goals and 44 assists for 81 points in only 53 games and is currently tied for 6th in points in the league. Similarly, to Williams, Peace only has 8 penalty minutes and is an outstanding +45 (first among forwards).

:sea: #6 - Zeedayno Chara @Jubis :sea:

Possibly the biggest effect a player has had following an offseason position change, Chara has been lighting it up this season with 40 goals and 39 assists in 53 games played. Chara has continued their physical play since their shift to forward as they have racked up 128 hits to this point in the season. Chara is also on pace for a career low in penalty minutes with only 67 minutes and alongside Williams has been nearly unstoppable this season.

:rig: #5 - Anze Miklavz @kelvi :rig:

The potential Dustin Funk Trophy winner, Miklavz’s play has leaped forward this season as they have already surpassed last season’s totals by a wide margin going from 53 to 88 points with 19 games to go. Despite Riga’s offense having slowed down a little bit since the start of the season, Miklavz has 31 goals and 57 (5th in league) assists for 88 points, good enough to be sitting 4th in the league right now.

:cal: #4 - Saku Kotkakoivu @DollarAndADream  :cal:

Saku Kotkakoivu has been tearing it up lately and thanks to a recent hot streak is currently 1st in the league in points with 93 in 54 games, comprising 43 goals (2nd in league) and 50 assists. Kotkakoivu also has been playing a rather physical game this season with 126 hits and 38 shots blocked. Kotkakoivu has been a bright spot for Calgary as they climb the NA standings and now sit 4th ahead of D.C.

:mos: #3 - Duncan Idaho @OrbitingDeath  :mos:

The three-time Scott Boulet Trophy winner, Duncan Idaho hasn’t changed anything this season as they currently sit first in the league in hits with 266 and have 20 shots blocked to go along with them. On the offensive side of the ice Idaho has been producing well and has 43 goals and 38 assists for a total of 81 points for 6th in the league. There is a very good chance we could see Idaho become the first player to win 4 consecutive Scott Boulet Trophies, giving him one up on Lahtinen and Groovy Dood, both of whom are in the Hall of Fame.

:rig: #2 - Alex Johnston @Alex :rig:

The other side of Riga’s dynamic duo on offense, Johnston has been finishing what Miklavz passes him and as a result Johnston currently leads the league in scoring with 47 goals and sits second in points with 91. Johnston has also continued their physical play with 160 hits and 18 shots blocked. The duo of Johnston and Miklavz has been feeding off of eachother all season and at this point the sky is the limit for the pair.

:tor: #1 - Paul Atreides @Mr_Hatter :tor:

In their first season with Toronto, Atreides has been unbelievable with 43 goals, 46 assists, and 89 points and is a major reason why Toronto is 2nd in the NA conference right now. Additionally, Atreides has 433 shots, 66 hits, 27 shots blocked and only 18 penalty minutes, making them the top forward in the VHL right now. Alongside of Peace, this makes Toronto's offence truly one of the best in the league.

On the Bubble: Luc Tessier @KC15, Vinny Detroit @dasboot, Brendan Telker @Telkster, Taylor Mourning @scoop, Druss Deathwalker @animal74, Jonathan Ori @ROOKIE745

Scott Boulette Trophy winner

Who the fuck is Scott Boulette and what has he done with my beloved Boulet trophy!

It's Boulet in french

*cough, cough* boulet is also a word in french and its used for canonballs. Boulette on the other hand is meat balls in your spaguetti, lasagna or whatever. Honestly, I prefer to keep the boulet name even in french.

In German 'Bulette' (without 'o' but sounding very alike) is a meat or fish-patty... So I second that it should be 'Boulet' (though in Swiss German 'Poulet' (with 'P', but again sounding very similar) is a fried chicken...)

I should not write such things approaching lunch time, I am hungry now... 🤤

My boy Atreides on top! GJ Hatter!

It's a close one this season ❤️ should be a fun run out. I'd probably go Idaho for the harder conference personally
