While a lot of the latest league news revolves around retirements, a GM stepping down and nonsensical drama including Da Trifecta a specific player has fallen under the radar a bit. That player is none other than Mikey Blade. 
 
I felt it appropriate to bring Blade up at this time considering the circumstances for which he was traded. Bushito and his player Damon Tyrael made it known to the league wide that he was likely leaving Riga to take over as a GM. Riga could of easily tried to persuade Bushito to stick around and live life as a player but instead found a willing trade partner with Seattle and managed to get a underrated potential star power player in the trade. That player is of course Mikey Blade. 
 
While he certainly didn't under perform in Seattle, Blade never really had a huge break out year, and as such not many expected him to make a huge impact in Riga. Season 37 has been in fact a great year for Mikey Blade. Before the Reign acquired Kameron Taylor, Blade was leading the team in points. Even despite Taylors presence Blade is only 3 points back of the eilte center with 80 points in 59 games played. 
 
While one has to question whether or not Riga can win a Cup with Kameron Taylor and Malcom Spud this season or next, Blade helps add some star power for potentially several seasons after Taylor and Spud have left. This season has certainly proved that he compliments the Riga roster very nicely, and could play a very important role if Riga were to make a long playoff push in the future. 

I fucking hate cats. They are the furthest thing from adorable that I have ever seen. They are jumpy, they are frantic, they don't show good love or affection. Like seriously is a cat anything in relation to a fucking dog? Of course not. Dogs are the shit in comparison to cats. It doesn't surprise me Chris that you are a cat person because like cats you fail in comparison to the real deal. Sullivan is the cat to Braxtons dog for example. You as NY GM fails is the cat to me as GM. 
 
It is at this point that I urge the VHL faithful to hijack this thread Daniel Bryan style. Turn this thread into something about dogs, hell anything other than cats. (Or Malls) Fucking cats. I can't believe that you seriously think cats are adorable. This is making me question everything I think and know about you for sure. 
 
So now that all this is out of the way. VHL make a decision. Cats or dogs? Hell Cats or literally almost anything else. But be warned, if you choose cats....you are the stain of society. You are barely even a person in the eyes of real legitimate people. Let it be known that those who drink scotch, those who don't go to malls and those who represent amazing humans say no to cats! 

So you buy games for bro dudes, congratulations. Did you enjoy Spelunkey? How about Braid? Hotline Miami? Rogue Legacy? What do you think of Johnathon Blow as a developer? What is your take on the current transformation of the indy studio with self publishing on both major consoles? Any thoughts on Notch not supporting the Rift now that Facebook bought it?

Technically scotch is a type of Whiskey. But if your looking for something in Canada as I am an expert there the best brand I would suggest is Johnny Walker. The issue is always the price. Johnny Walker Swing is a good cheaper brand that runs about $80 per bottle. I've had it several times, it's a bit sweeter than most scotch almost like a bourbon. It goes down really smooth though. You can always tell good scotch from bad because good scotch you should never need to mix. If your like me a couple of cubes of ice and a glass can go down smooth.
 
I'd also recommend Black Label Johnny Walker. I've had it twice and a bottle of that can be anywhere from $50-100. Some of the labels of JW aren't all great either. Black and Blue are very good. Blue is like elite expensive though, can run up to $300+. Swing is a good "affordable" one as mentioned. 
 
Black Bottle is another good brand that makes a simpler smokey tasting scotch that you may be able to find for cheaper than $50 pending. The other thing to do is to sometimes just try stuff out. If your at a friends house who has a giant liquor cabinet just take some tastes of certain scotch and see what you like. Most of the quality blends cost more money, so shelling down that type of cash when you haven't tried something is quite risky. 
 
Alternatively you can also go to a good restaurant that has a nice scotch selection. I've been to a couple of steak joints that have and it is where I first tried JW Blue Label. I wasn't picking up the tab so I tried a few out. I didn't mind Bowmore 11 year old single malt which I tried. I've heard good things about Glenmorangie as well but I don't know what you'd be looking at for price. 

This is fucking awesome. Way to go sir! 

Couldn't we just add some type of incentive for people who do Media Spots to go along with this incentive? Someone on the suggestions section posed Media Spot/GFX of the year. Alternatively you could have "featured" media spots and GFX every week that get pinned and get some extra attention. Could be a thing determined by the graders and something that both Kendrick and I could share on social media. Then you throw them an extra 1 or 2 TPE. 
 
Gives some incentive to do point tasks and get good at them and features some of the people who sometimes pound away at those things with very little recognition.

Every hockey player has their own hobbies outside of the game they play, of course. Within the VHL and the VHLM, there's a collection of players that have formed a bond that brings them together, and that is professional wrestling.
 
With the regular season currently in full swing for both leagues, the players have all breathed a sigh of relief when upon looking at their schedules, noticing that there are no games to be played on April 6, 2014. The same day as WrestleMania 30.
 
This group of players, some names such as Logan Laich, Kimmo Salo, Steven Smyl, Wesley Kellinger, Blaine Olynick, Brick Wahl, among others took upon this opportunity to buy front row seats to this storied event.
 
"I'm going to be wearing my Heath Slater shirt, hopefully I can get a picture with him," said a suspiciously excited Brick Wahl.
 
Logan Laich has been vocal about being fed up with WWE and their booking, but since Daniel Bryan has been technically added to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture, the rest of the group has been pretty happy he's stopped complaining.
 
Some signs that the group plans to bring include phrases such as "Heath Slater for World Champ!", "I'd rather be watching ROH", and "Cena's okay!".
 
Going to last year's WrestleMania, Blaine Olynick thinks this one will be much better.
 
"It was nearly 30 degrees that day, I was sitting in the 5th to last row, I had drunks around me, and the only good match was Punk vs Taker, which was predictable."
 
No matter how the night ends, it's still about being at such a spectacle like WrestleMania. The VHL(M) stars will be sure to set their on ice differences aside for this one night.

Fair enough. The thing is both New York and Riga have near 400 TPE goalies and both have a few star power players. New York has Tordahl and Riga has Blade. Add in some top rookies and a couple of 400 TPE depth guys and these teams will steal some games. The issue for Seattle is they really have struggled against Vasteras this season and the games that New York has stolen were against top teams at the wrong time for Seattle. New York stole games against Davos and Toronto for example at just a bad time in the season for Seattle when they also faced a ton of Quebec, Vasteras and Davos. Which is what has lead to the current lead. But as you may of noticed you guys are closing in.
 
I'm not delusional. I don't think that New York is better than current Seattle. My issue wasn't with New York as stated, more so that I think league parity is at an all time high, and for any team in the league a few games where a lesser team steals a game from you which has happened to every top team in the league this season can easily alter the standings. 

I wasn't posting 6000 words when NY was cursed and not winning despite having great rosters in the playoffs. Certainly different since they did make the playoffs, but league parity also wasn't as deep back then. It's just a sim at the end of the day. It sucks when things don't go great and I do feel empathy toward you guys since you do have a good active team. But again, so does most of the league. Things go bad for a season, a sim or whatever? Bite the bullet, suck it up and move on.

No offense Toast but Seattle isn't that much higher in overall than the other teams. Like 1 or 2? I really think you guys underestimate league parity to be honest. It isn't just New York and Riga. The fact that the Bears specifically act like their roster on paper is consistently the best roster in the league is rather laughable. It's a good roster. Davos is a good roster, Toronto, Quebec, New York, Riga. The "they aren't that talented" comment to me shows how out of touch you really are with the league right now. So many teams with quality goalies, 400+ TPE players, star power spread out all over the league. 

RIGA, Latvia - There was talk around the Victory Hockey League that defense was at the lowest point in a long time with not many upcoming blue chip prospects but that has changed very quickly. Last year the rookie of the year went to a defenseman and so far this season it looks that it will be the same. Slaeter Fjorsstrom, who was drafted 1st overall by the Riga Reign in the off-season, joined the team and fit right in continuing his stellar performance from the VHLM last season where he helped carry the Bratislava Watchmen to a championship.
 
Currently Fjorsstrom sits atop the leader board for rookie scoring and is top five in all defensive scoring across the league.  He's Riga's number one defenseman which shows by being third in all minutes played this season and has been a huge role in having the young team in the playoffs this season which sets him up for lots of future success. It's obvious that he will only go up from here and will probably be on the ballot not only for rookie of the year but for defenseman of the year.
 
It's nice that this agency is showing success so early in this young guy's career especially now that their previous client Larsson has already been replaced by a player that plays the same and is captaining the Reign. Three cheers for the success to continue all around!
