    Welcome back to part 2 of the Greatest UK Players of the Portal Era. Last time we had a couple of the greatest players in VHL history, so let’s see what this part has to offer! If you’d like to check out part 1 of this list you can do so by clicking the following link;

So far we've had 3 skaters selected, which means we have 2 more skaters and a goaltender remaining.

Now with that out of the way let’s get into the list!

    D - Lance Flowers 1129 TPE  (@CowboyinAmerica)
To kick-start this list off we have defenseman Lance Flowers. Unlike the other players on this list Lance is the only player still currently active. After being selected 2nd overall by the New York Americans in S68, he has spent his career up to this point with them. In 421 contests (currently) he’s put up 58 goals and 273 assists for 331 points along with over 1500 hits and 700 shots blocked. He still has another 2 seasons left as well before he’s forced into retirement. Although New York hasn’t had too much playoff success so far, the limited time he has had he’s made the most of, recording 19 points in 19 playoff games. He was named rookie of the year in S68, as well as a two-time Jake Wylde trophy winner for best defensive defenseman. Even if Lance doesn’t win a cup in the next few seasons he’s had a great career regardless.

    D - Jeff Hamilton 1124 TPA (Unknown)
Next up on the list we come to Jeff Hamilton. Jeff’s stats haven’t been fully recorded, only having stats from 5 regular seasons from S49 - S53 but was on 4 different teams in that short span. In 360 career games he recorded 122 goals and 346 assists for 468 points. He did have stats from 6 seasons in the playoffs spanning a 7 year time-frame between S47 - S53. In the 54 playoff games he put up 9 goals and 30 assists for 39 points. Although his numbers are little less than what they should be he’s still a solid defender winning the Alexander Beketov Trophy in S50 for being the league leader in points. He’s also a two-time Sterling Labatte Trophy winner for the league’s top defenseman. He also managed to win a cup in S51 with Riga. Overall not a bad career for a defenseman.

    G - Finn Davison 1364 TPE (@Poptart)
Now with skaters finished off we move onto the goalie which is none other than Finn Davison. In 487 regular season games Davison posted a 230-198-53 record along with 36 shutouts and a career .920SV% and 2.54GAA. He was never able to go very deep in the playoffs only ever playing in 1 or 2 rounds. However, he did win a Greg Clegane Trophy for lowest GAA in the league in S68 along with an Aidan Shaw Trophy for the league’s top goaltender in the same season. He may not be as decorated as other goalies, he had a solid career none-the-less and deserved a mention. In my personal opinion he was snuffed a second Aidan Shaw trophy in S71 having very similar stats to the winning goalie but achieving the same amount of wins and 2 more shutouts in 6 less games played. He had a .926SV% and 2.00GAA for crying out loud.

That does it for part two of the Greatest UK Players of the Portal Era. Thanks for checking out my article and be sure to check back for more in the near future. If there’s a country you’d like to see me do next let me know!

Bayley got a reaction from Beaviss in My next player..
You know, I have just got started with Micah Adrienne, which I have really liked being so far. I think he has some real good history and a lot of buzz around him, that is what I like to see. But, there is one thing that is escaping me, that first overall pick. I want one of my players to go first overall in the draft. I thought I had a real chance with Adrienne, but that did not happen, as we know. I have loved my time in Vancouver so far, my first goal for Adrienne would be getting his name up in the rafters of the Wolves. We will see if he gets his name up in the lights for the VHL, but Vancouver, that will be the first goal.

Now, what will be next? How will I get that #1 pick that has been escaping me? Well, something that I was debating doing again this time was making a goalie. I was so close to making another Finn Davison, but I decided to go defense. Next, I will be looking at going back into a goaltender. I wish I almost did it this time as I am already missing being a goalie, but it's alright. I really do not have too much of a name picked out yet, but goalie will absolutely the next player.

When you look at the player beyond being a goalie, I have always wanted to be a scorer as well, but with everyone basically trying to do that, there is not much of a need for that. I really want to be the guy that no one wants to be. That is why I love being a defensive-defenseman with Micah Adrienne. No one wants to do the dirty work in their own zone, but that is something I have always loved to do, but I guess it's time to think about my success. Once I become the #1 overall pick, the goal will next to be in the Hall of Fame, as I am not sure Finn Davison will get in and it is way to early to see about the projection of Adrienne. I wish Finn would get in as I feel like he really deserves it. He spent a ton of time on a rebuilding team. I feel that if I was on a winning team, I would be in the Hall of Fame, but it is what it is.

People love offensive players, so I will be making a pure scorer after that. Think of Alex Ovechkin, that is the player I will likely be trying to build. I will be really enjoying my time in the VHLM with the million points that I will be putting up. We will see where I go with each of these players, but the future is bright. I feel like I always look ahead to what I will be building next. I love goalie, so that will be soon. I will be taking name suggestions for players if anyone has any. Bonus points if it is a Taylor Swift pun.

    S73 VHL SEASON PREVIEW

The S72 offseason has come and gone which means it is time for a new season of hockey to begin! We will be taking a look at the situation of all 16 VHL franchises heading into S73. We will be starting with the expansion teams and then be making our way up the standings from last to first. Without further ado, let us begin!

    Chicago Phoenix
    Expansion Team

Honestly, If I am a Chicago fan right I would be pretty excited for the kind of damage this team will be able to do a few years down the road. You may not have the best roster right now, but it is filled with future stars. The forward core is led by Adam Syreck, Squirrely Dan, Vladimir Shaposhnikov and Milos Slavik rounding out the top-six forward group. In net, they have their first-round draft pick in Jean Pierre Camus. They are lacking a lot defensively with the only notable name being Nikita Kulikovich, but if their forward core plays well and Camus has a great season, they can be a dark horse playoff contender.

    London United
    Expansion Team

London is another team that could do some damage if things go right. They have a solid offence with the likes of veteran forward Guy Lesieur along with some young forwards like Mac Hooper, Jay Jones and The Terrible Trivium. Defensively, they have James Rose who had a great season with the Houston Bulls in the VHLM last season. London’s biggest issue will be in the crease. Their starter going into this season will be Clayton Park, a career backup goalie who hasn’t fit too well into a starting role and this looks like his last season, so London may need a quick fix at goaltender but other than that I can see them possibly making a playoff push depending on what happens before the trade deadline.

    Los Angeles Stars
    Expansion Team

I could see LA easily making the playoffs this season. They look to be in the best position out of all of the expansion teams. Offensively, they are led by veterans Sigard Gunnar and Tyler Barabash Jr while sprinkling in some youth with Markus Nygren, Gary Neal and first-round pick Jeffrey Pines rounding out the forward core. Defensively, They are led by the trio of Rusty Shackleford, Gert B Frobe and Kaspars Claude. The only issue I see in their team kind of like London is in the crease. They also have a career backup this time in Kolur Bjoernsson. It will only be like this as both their defence and goaltending will be rounded when second-round picks Jiggly Gumballs and Drew Minott are expecting to come up to the VHL.

    Warsaw Predators
    Expansion Team

Warsaw is just like LA where their team looks like a fringe playoff contender, but can easily go further. Warsaw has the best centre depth out of all 4 expansion teams, with Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Zeno Miniti filling the roster down the middle. On the wings, they have 2 players with VHL experience in Dalton Wilcox and Damien Wolfe. Defensively, They have veterans Danny DeYeeto and Hugh Chan along with a younger player in Alex Bridges. Warsaw also has a solid goaltender in Nicolas Fomba. Mix this in with the first-round pick Dakota Lamb coming up to the VHL next year and this can be a dark horse candidate both this year and next year.

    Malmo Nighthawks
Last Season: 26-41-5 (12th in VHL)
    Did not make the playoffs

Malmo is a very different team from last season, having 3 first-round picks and nailing all of them. They still have a veteran presence in Aston Martin offensively but throw in young guns Chris Hylands, Ray Shields and top draft pick Marshall James Frostbeard and this team looks extremely dangerous offensively. This team was concerning defensively last year. What better way to fill that hole by taking the S73 draft’s top defender, Tyler Walker at 2nd overall. Mix that with the current core of Zyrok12 and Condor Adrienne and the call-up of Viktor Alexei Kamenov and this is a miles better defence then it was last year. In net, Malmo has long term stability in 6th overall pick Grekkark Gyrfalcon who is poised to have a breakout year in the VHL. This is a solid Malmo team that I can see as a dark horse candidate for a Continental Cup run.

    D.C. Dragons
Last Season: 30-38-4 (11th in VHL)
    Did not make the playoffs.
D.C. is one of those teams that can do some serious damage. They had a stroke of luck last offseason, moving up to 1st overall to select LW Groovy Dood. Dood has been working hard to fit in with the D.C line up for his rookie year in S73. D.C is led offensively by 2 young guns in Dood and RW Xaiver LeFlamant and veterans in Raleigh Ritchie, Mikko Aaltonen, Boris the Forest and Benny Graves, who is looking like he is prepared for a career year. Defensively, D.C is no slouch either being led by veterans Charles Drumm, Luciano Valentino, Ricky Johnson and a new younger defenseman in Liam Flaten. D.C also has more stability in goal as starting goaltender Stone Wolski did some hard training this offseason and looks poised to be one of the best goaltenders this year. With a team like that, you must be excited if you are a D.C fan as they could easily be a Continental Cup contender. I see them making the playoffs.

    Vancouver Wolves
Last Season: 32-35-5 (10th in VHL)
    Did not make the playoffs

Vancouver is a really unpredictable team. Keeping a lot of the players from last season but also sprinkling in some of the young talented players can do that to a team. Offensively, they are still led by centres Brock Louth and Andrew Su, but up the wings, they look deadly. On the right side, they have Jungkok, Gregg Stallion, Gino DiGiannantonio and Mat Tacco and on the left, they have Joe Proto. They will need to shift one or two of their right wings over to the left but they still a dangerous offence. The defence was a bright spot for Vancouver last season as they were 5th in the league in total goals against and they managed to grab Micah Adrienne at 3rd overall in the draft to further solidify their defence. Mix that in with the veterans in Jeff Downey, Andrej Petrovic and Griff Manzer and you have an excellent top 4. In net, they have stability in the starter position with Jimmy Spyro and they have Isak Sjostrom backing him up. If Vancouver can play up to their potential, they will be a tough team to beat this year, but it all depends on how they come out of the gate. They will be a playoff contender but the step to a cup contender depends on how things go.

    Toronto Legion
Last Season: 33-35-4 (9th in VHL)
Lost in Conference Semi-Finals to CGY 4-3

Despite how bad S72 looked for Toronto fans, they were in a playoff spot and managed to push the eventual conference champion Calgary Wranglers to 7 games. Not too shabby. Toronto could make a splash this year with an offence lead by Jeff Blaze, Teemu Lehtinen Jr, Chad Magnum and Kristopher McDagg. However, I expect incoming LW Joseph Gainer to have a good season. He is coming off a solid season in the VHLM and has developed nicely down there. Defensively, they are led by a young core of brothers in Gabriel and Leon Gutzwiler, Erik Killinger and a veteran piece in Fredrik Elmebeck makes for a dangerous top 4. In the crease, Toronto is no slouch either, having a solid young goaltender in Jaxx Hextall, who will only continue to get better. Add all of this to 5th overall pick John Merrick being ready to play for S74 and this Toronto team will get dangerous really fast.

    Prague Phantoms
Last Season: 32-32-8 (8th in VHL)
    Did not make the playoffs

Missing the playoffs was a bummer for Prague, who despite finishing better than the playoff-bound Toronto Legion ended up ultimately missing the big dance due to S72’s stacked European Conference. Prague has a powderkeg offence led by Thomas Landry II, Ondrej Ohradka, Dagmar Havlova and Alex Pearson. Defensively, they still have the 3 headed-monster of Cinnamon Block, Seabass Perrin and Wolf Stansson Jr. In the crease, they still have Virgil Ligriv in net for his last season but behind him is the young goalie Woody McPine, who was a force in the VHLM last year. Things can turn around for Prague really fast, with centre Andre LeBastard coming up from the VHLM next year.

    HC Davos Dynamo
Last Season: 35-30-7 (7th in VHL)
Lost in Conference Semi-Finals to RIG 4-0

HC Davos was absolutely steamrolled in the first round by the eventual champion Riga Reign in S72. This doesn’t change the fact they have a solid lineup, led offensively by SS Hornet, Jet Jaguar, Soren Jensen and Jerry Garcia. Davos’ defence remains mostly the same led by David O’Quinn and Roque Davis but Davos made a splash move to bring in Charlie Paddywagon from Calgary to round it off. Davos has the young up and coming Joakim Bruden in net who has a chance to have a great season. I see Davos returning to the playoff, but they can go farther than just playoffs.

    Moscow Menace
Last Season: 35-29-8 (6th in VHL)
Lost in Conference Finals to RIG 4-0

Just like Davos, a sweep at the hands of the eventual champion Riga Reign doesn’t take away how good the Moscow Menace was last season. Moscow still has a deadly first line with Nate Telker, Ryo Yamazuki II and Henrik Zoiderberg leading the way offensively but with upcoming stars Vin Calia and Lucas Brandt, those holes that come up once the first line leaves will be easy to fill. Defensively, they still have the deadly duo of Vladimir Pavlov and Oskar Lagesson but added the dangerous VHLM star Alex Letang to an already loaded back end. In net, they still have Raymond Bernard. This will be a tough Moscow team to beat this year and I expect them to be a cup contender.

    Helsinki Titans
Last Season: 36-26-10 (5th in VHL)
Lost in Conference Semi-Finals to MOS 4-2)

Helsinki had a good season in S72, ending with a fantastic 6 game series against Moscow where they easily could have taken it. Helsinki is led offensively by a top line of Hiroshi Okada, Jim Bob and Erik Draven. They also have some solid 2nd line and depth pieces in Ben Hafkey, Jared Spaz and Valtteri Vaakanainen. Defensively, they have Erik Summers and Kyle Andersen leading the way along with rookie Spencer Elsby. In net, Helsinki has the two-headed monster in Zamboni Driver and Samuel Ross. Adding all of this with S73 draft picks Patrik Laine and Oh Sens coming in next season and Helsinki can easily win a Continental Cup.

    New York Americans
Last Season: 38-26-8 (4th in VHL)
Lost in Conference Finals to CGY 4-3

New York’s playoff run last year came to a heartbreaking end in game 7 against the Calgary Wranglers, giving up the game-winning goal with just 30 seconds to play. New York’s offence is still as dangerous as ever with a top-six forward group made up of Julius Freeman, Acyd Burn, Owen Nolan, Jerry Wang, Bjorn Scoringsonn and Richard Penisson. Defensively, they have the tenacious trio of Micheal Gary Scott, Lance Flowers and Hugh Jass. In net, it is also the same with A Red Guy being the starter. This team can easily make a cup run and I expect them to be a contender all season long.

    Riga Reign
Last Season: 39-25-8 (3rd in VHL)
    Won S72 Continental Cup!

The defending champion Riga Reign definitely have something to be proud of, going 12-1 throughout last year's playoffs and easily taking the Continental Cup and with a lineup like theirs, who says they can’t go back to back? They are led by the insane centre depth as you have Phil Marleau, Kyl Oferson, Pengu and Codrick Past roaming the middle. They also have Patrik Tallinder and Shush Nyko up the wings making this a dangerous team in the offensive zone. Defensively, they still have their top pair in Lincoln Tate and Guy Saskamoose. Those two will be just as dangerous this year. However, the biggest X-Factor in this team’s success lately, goaltender Greg Eagles. He was the big reason why Riga won the Continental Cup last spring and if he plays even close to the way he did in the postseason, I see Riga going back to back.

    Seattle Bears
Last Season: 47-22-3 (2nd in VHL)
Lost in Conference Semi-Finals to NYA 4-1

Just because Seattle lost in round 1 last season doesn’t mean anything. This team is still extremely dangerous, led offensively by veterans Scott Greene and Ambrose Stark as well as young stars Ola Vikingstad, Uhtred and Timothy Brown. Defensively, Seattle has Hulk Hogan, Berocka Sundqvist, Odin Omdahl and Randy Marsh rounding out an impressive top 4. In the net, Rayz Funk looks like he is going to play his final season, but Seattle was prepared and snagged top goaltender Jacob Tonn in the S73 draft to back him up and take the reigns once Funk retires. Seattle can easily go all the way back and win their 4th Continental Cup in 6 seasons.

    Calgary Wranglers
Last Season: 49-16-7 (1st in VHL)
Lost in Continental Cup Finals to RIG 4-1

Calgary went through a lot of games last season and ended up just short of a Continental Cup, but there isn’t any reason they can’t go back. They still have RJ Jubis, Kris Rice, Mikko Lahtinen, ACL TEAR and Willie Dredge leading offensively. Defensively, it is mostly the same, with Edwin THE Encarnacion and General Zod enforcing their will. Calgary traded Charlie Paddywagon this offseason, leaving a big hole there and it is expected that incoming rookie defender Kosmo Kramerev will fill that hole. Calgary still has Jacques LaFontaine in the net. The question for Calgary isn’t whether they can win a cup, the question is can they do it now? Their window is closing fast, the next 2 seasons are probably the best chances they will have at a cup run before they have to retool everything. Your move, Calgary.

If you came here looking for a prediction, forget it. What I say now will either trigger one of three things and I will list them here.

My predictions will be wrong by the trade deadline.
I will predict the playoff picture correctly, but everything will just fall off at that point.
My predictions will be wrong by the end of the first week.

Bayley reacted to IamMOOSE in King: VHL/VHLM Draft Statement
Well it’s official. Kevin King has been drafted in the second round, 19th overall to the Vancouver Wolves. He’ll be going into s73 as a member of the Miami Marauders of the VHLM and will be building towards the s74 season as his debut in the VHL. King’s journey from being out of hockey, to a returning threat is on the horizon. I will now turn this over to Kevin King for a statement on the last two days of drafts:

“I want to first take this time to thank @Spartan & @twists for my time in Las Vegas. It was a smooth introduction to this league, and I enjoyed every minute of my time in the uniform. Moving forward, I want to thank @Ricer13 and @Beaviss for their interest in me in both the VHLM and VHL drafts. It’s an honor to be a top 5 pick in the VHLM and to go within the top 20 in the VHL as a first-generation player. I am excited for the opportunity to play for the Miami Marauders (VHLM) and to in the future play for the Vancouver Wolves (VHL). As I have previously stated, my plan is to remain in the VHLM for the entirety of the s73 season, where I can continue to mature as a pro in the VHL system.”

“I now want to address some things that have been said in regard to my draft analysis. I am proud to be a 2nd round draftee, that said I’m not content. I don’t accept this 2nd line Center label, and I expect my production, drive, and activity to propel beyond many of my naysayers as I take my place on the top line one day in the VHL. I’ve seen the comments, I’ve read the reviews, I’m not content with those things, and I don’t feel I should be. Good is not good enough for me. Great isn’t what I’m aiming for it’d be settling. If I’m not working towards being elite then I shouldn’t be here. So, I will be elite. And I want the record to be shown that King was a missing opportunity for 15 other teams. 19th isn’t something to be ashamed of. It is 18 picks worth of a chip on my shoulder that I want to remind myself of what I’m playing for.”

“I will now open the floor to any questions.”

Q: Now that you’ve been drafted, what were your expectations for this draft? Were you higher or lower than you expected?

King: “I wasn’t really concerned with what team drafted me. I had some teams that seemed more interested than they ended up being. I’m not upset about. I want to use that to motivate me to be even better for the teams that did go with me. I feel I was drafted where I needed to be. I expected to go near the 20s high or low. This is about right.”

Q: Vancouver made some say, controversial moves in s72, are you at all worried you may end up moved for other pieces?

King: “I can’t worry about that too much. I would hope that as a top 20 selection they have plans to make me an integral part of the lineup. I do understand it’s a business though, and sometimes tough decisions have to be made to move guys/gals that maybe aren’t performing or are pieces that can be transferred in order to benefit the long term goals of the organization. So, I’m not worried about it. For now, I’ll lace up for Miami. Next season I plan to lace up for Vancouver. If that changes, I’ll change with it.”

Q: You’ve now been taken over Matty Socks in both drafts, does that make you a better player?

King: *laughs* “Absolutely. No, seriously, I don’t know what the logic is there. I know for Miami; they were back-to-back picks, so it really doesn’t mean anything. The VHL on the other hand is a different beast. Could be as simple as the need for Center at one position in the draft, and defense going the other way. You replay the draft 100 times; I doubt I go ahead of Socks. @fishy is a great personality and I’m happy to have gotten the opportunity to play a couple seasons as a teammate and I’m excited to see how she pans out in Chicago.”

Q: Last question: With so much expectation on Miami this season, what are you looking at most as your target for improvement?

King: “I want to hit 250 quickly and just bank as much as possible. I’m very excited to continue to grow and develop. I think an emphasis on offense and intangible things like Puck Handling and Faceoffs are important. I’m in a position to succeed if I continue to put the effort in, and I will.”

“Thank you all for you time.”

Bayley got a reaction from Beaviss in Micah Adrienne Prospect Scouting
    Micah Adrienne
    Height: 6'6"
    Weight: 250 pounds
    Birthplace: ??

    VHLM Statistics
    Season 71 (PHI) - 23 games, 4 goals, 13 assists, 17 points, +15, 21 hits, 29 shots blocked Playoffs: 7 games, 0 goals, 2 assists, +3, 15 hits, 10 shots blocked Season 72 (LVA) - 72 games, 23 goals, 49 assists, 72 points, +46, 250 hits, 104 shots blocked Playoffs: 6 games, 3 goals, 6 assists, 9 points, +4, 21 hits, 9 shots blocked
    PROS
    Defense (87)
When you look at Micah Adrienne, he is ready go to defensively. He may be one of the most ready players in the draft for that reason. You can instantly toss him on the penalty kill and be happy with what you see. Now, you are going to get some mistakes from this guy just given the fact that he is so young. He is only 16 years old, so you are definitely going to be getting some of that mentality. However, defense is his strong suit, he will be happily stepping into that role.

    Checking (69)
I think one thing that really goes into the defense is his checking ability . During last season for the Las Vegas Aces, Adrienne had 250 hits, causing his opponents be always looking around for where this 6'6" body was. I think he will continue doing that at the next level. He needs to continue to develop this, but it's something that you will get from him, without question.

    CONS
    Passing (61)
Now, one of his shortcomings will come on the offensive side of the ice. He is not a great passer at all. He makes silly passes and really sometimes has no idea where he is going with the puck. At the VHLM level, you may be able to get away with passes like that, but at the VHL level, you best believe that you are going to be sat at the end of the bench and told how much you suck. People in the VHL will make you pay for stupid passes like he did for the Aces. He needs to be better, but offense is just something he has to work harder at.

    Puck Handling (70)
I think on the same lines as passing, puck handling is something he needs to work at. When you look at some of the times he has just been stripped of the puck so easily, you know that he needs to work on it. Somehow, he put up 23 goals last season, no one really is sure how. With every goal he scored, he was curious how it got there. You see him on the ice and wonder why he even tries to touch the puck. It's something he needs to work on, definitely.

In just a few days the D.C. Dragons will be officially on the clock, for the First Overall selection in the Season Seventy-Three VHL Entry Draft. The top earner in the pool of eligible prospects is defenseman Tyler Walker, but the consensus amongst the league does not have the Canadian defenseman taking his talents to D.C. Instead in a recent poll taken by the league, it appears that 36.59 percent of those polled believe that Micah Adrienne will be wearing the Dragon in Season Seventy-Four.

Adrienne is coming off a stellar season with the Las Vegas Aces, one that really cemented him on top of the prospect pool. Adrienne put up twenty-three goals and forty-eight assist in the seventy-two regular season games he played for the Aces in Season Seventy-Two, and we believe tonight will be the final reward for all the hard work over the past year and a half in the VHLM.

This year’s draft will of course be a little different than we are used to as well, with the prospects all gathering in a virtual green room waiting for their names to be called. Hopefully they will still be able to experience the joys of hearing their names called  as the prospect that came before them did.

Bayley got a reaction from Spartan in Micah Adrienne talks
The end of the season just came for the Las Vegas Aces as well as the Draft Lottery happened. With the DC Dragons getting the first pick, Malmo second, and Vancouver 3rd, it will be interesting to see where Micah Adrienne will end up. There are a lot of mocks that has Adrienne going in the top 2 picks, but where will he end up? First, we caught up with him who had some end of season thoughts.

Bayley reacted to Spence King in S73 VHL Draft Mid season Top 48 Rankings
Good day VHL Community and Top of the morning to you, especially to the focus of this article - S73 VHL Draft Class. With S72 having surpassed the 50 games played mark and less than 20 games left it's CRUNCH time. Since we’ve last checked in “VSN’s Top 24 Early Standouts” there has for sure been what some may call chaos, I view it as excitement and more unpredictability. This Draft has some very exciting prospects headlined by MJF @frosty the without question top player of the S73 Draft class Marshall James FrostBeard along with superstar defenceman Tyler Walker and a handful of great goalies in Tonn, Gyrfalcon and Camus all slotted to go 1st round. Along with the unforgettable John Merrick showing flashes of Hall of Fame play as well as a blood relative to the legendary Glade family as VHL players and GM, the youngest highly touted defenceman Shawn Glade III.
With the recent news of the VHL’s 4-Team Expansion announced for this offseason creates even more variables and “chaos” for Current VHL GM’s; Let the fun begin. From first glance, it’s easy to see this is not the deepest draft class and a major drop nearing round 3.  It's important that I clarify and we are making this clear these “Rankings'' are not a Mock Draft, it is who VSN’s Scouting Department believes are the best picks at each spot without any connections to the teams making the selection nor Positional Value (Pure Rankings). These rankings are based and referring to play progress before the playoffs*

The VSN Scouting Department with the amazing crew of scouting experience run @Patrik Tallinder The Director of Scouting and Assistant Director @Spence King have spent countless hours watching every VHLM game travelling across North America and not to mention the passing WJC and now playoffs. A major factor the scouts highly value in a player is consistency (being active weekly/levels of participation) extensively tracking weekly opportunities claimed even as far as the differences between total capped and uncapped TPE earned. VSN scouting Staff are always keeping a VERY close eye on each player’s activity trends and participation in the community.

    Let’s get ready to rumble!
here are VSN’s S73 Draft Mid Season Player Rankings:

    #1 - Marshall James Frostbeard- 300 TPE
Trending down, Low risk, High potential
If anyone is shocked to see the MJF trending “down” is the sole reason that @frostbeard is a VHL GM himself and has his player’s rights protected in the draft and he is the clear cut #1 Overall prospect in this draft.

#2 - Tyler Walker - 281 TPE- No trend, Low risk, High potential
Tyler is the ultimate coaches player, he does everything you ask of him and is always in the right place at the right time, no player other than MJF has shown more consistent growth/Activity and development in their game other than Tyler. Whichever team drafts this young man will be getting a future franchise defenceman that will play MANY games in the VHL and very soon.

    #3 - Jacob Tonn-  276 TPE
No trend, Low risk, High potential
Jacob Tonn has proven to be a steal for the ages, with the hounds able to draft some great players and snag Tonn in the later rounds is truly unbelievable that any GM let this young man go past the 1st round let alone outside the Top 5. Tonn is having a fantastic season in his draft year proving to have the potential to be a future starter and potentially star goaltender in the VHL

    #4 - Micah Adrienne - 276 TPE
No trend, Low risk, High potential
Micah is by far one of the best defenders his age in a long time. Micah is easily one of the leagues top 5 Defensive defencemen with way above average defensive IQ, amazing body checker with terrifying hits combined with his smooth skating and puck handling make him a real contender for the #1 overall pick come draft day. Biggest Flaw is his terrible discipline.

    #5 - Jeffrey Pines- 240TPE
Trending UP, Low  risk, High potential
Jeffrey was on a tear after the WJC and really proving the league his playmaking abilities are just as strong and he might actually be a stronger playmaker as well as really fine-tuning his work in the defensive end and proving to be one of the most hated players to play against in the league. Jeffrey has a very bright future in the VHL his potential is sky high and he can fit any role his team needs for him.

    #6 - Grekkark Gyrfalcon - 228 TPE
Trending UP, Low risk, High potential
Grekkark Gyrfalcon is what some scouts are calling “The safest pick”. This due to the fact that Grekkark is affiliated with the EFL and is guaranteed to cap out with 12 TPE with his EFL Job alone.

    #7 - Jean Pierre Camus - 217 TPE:
Trending UP, Low risk, High potential
J=ean Pierre Camus is our third goalie in the top ten and he's there for a reason. JPC may not have the wins like the other goalies but the skill is there and it’s evident. Truly an exciting player to watch. Camus with a record of 18-42-4 is still currently the league leader with the highest Save % of any starting goaltender. His lightning-quick hand speed combined with incredible style and  rebound control and jaw-dropping reaction time

    #8 - @ShawnGlade III- 213 TPE
Trending down, Moderate risk, High potential
Shawn is right there with Tyler and Micah in terms of potential. The relative of the legendary Shawn Glade gives us some insight into the hockey blood in this player and his dedication and consistency. Shawns defensive IQ always has him in the right position at the right time. Glade III has an amazing first pass out of the zone to go along with his ability to rush the puck with his strong puck handling and skating abilities.

     #9 - Groovy Dood- 206 TPE
Trending UP, Low risk, High potential
Groovy Dude AKA @bigAL The AGM of the new VHLM expansion Franchise the Miami Marauders. Groovy has proven to be extremely active and one of the most consistent draft-eligible players continually increasing his draft stock. Mr Dude is arguably the top playmaker in the draft. His defensive abilities are also what really separates him apart from the other players in this class is his obvious effort and dedication consistently week in and day out and will always give you 110% effort.

    #10 - Kosmo Kramerev- 204 TPE
Trending UP, Low risk, High potential
Kosmo is in the top 10 of the league scoring not only as a rookie but also as a defenceman. Kramerev so far in 64 games is 1 point shy, sitting at 99PTS and going to hit the 100 PTS plateau as a rookie. The difference between Kramerev and the “Big Three” Walker, Adrienne and Glade is that Kosmo is a much more offensive-oriented defensive player while saying that he does not lack in defensive abilities and has amazing defensive skills.

    #11 - John Merrick- 179 TPE
    N/A, Low   risk, High potential
John Merrick looks to be a very promising and potential first-line centre in the VHL. Merrick, the User @Steve recently retired unexpectedly Guy LeGrande early and was not expected to recreate LeGrnade had 1177 TPE already and still had 2 seasons to go. That says a lot right there about Merricks potential. Merrick is already proving to be a great 2-way centre, He has the size and strength to go along with his great puck handling and skating abilities.

     #12 - Wolf Stansson - 190 TPE
Trending UP, Low risk, High potential
Wolf Stansson was a hot name on Trade Deadline day, and with that being no surprise. Wolf has proven to be the next name on this list of extremely talented 2-way defenders. Wolf plays with an edge to his game and can really bang bodies on the ice and I mean that literally by an “edge” Wolf has learned to master body checking and cutting off the rush with huge hip checks always making clean hits and is never afraid to sacrifice his body.

    #13 - Dan Baillie Jr – 194 TPE
Trending UP, Low risk, High potential
Dan Baille Jr “The Junior Rocket” has been trending up and up all season and the ski is truly the limit for this man. His skating is out of this world and without a doubt the most accurate and quickest shot in the draft, Baille Jr goal and assist totals in SSK do not reflect his skill or potential. Baille is going to have a very great and long career in the VHL.

    #14 -Andre Lebastard- 189 TPE
Trending UP, Moderate risk, High potential
Probably the best Faceoff man in the draft if not the VHLm.Amazing 200-foot player, Fantastic passing IQ and accuracy, Logs Massive minutes and can shut down and play with the league's top lines, needs to work on his strength

    #15 - Patrik Laine - 174 TPE
Trending UP, Moderate risk, High potential
The hottest thing in Houston right now, Laine is one of if not the most active prospects in the pool and is continually opening more and earning a lot of attention and this spot in the rankings. Laine is the most well-rounded prospect ranked to go in the first round with equally strong skating, puck handling, scoring and defensive IQ but still has a long way to go before being  VHL ready anytime soon.

     #16 - Mikeal Keef  - 195 TPE
Trending UP, Low risk, High potential
Mikeal will more than likely be playing in the pros next year, whichever organisation is lucky enough to snag this franchise defenceman will be smiling ear to ear when they call his name to the draft stage. The 6’4 205 lb smooth-skating defenceman excels the most in his own end with his jaw-dropping hits.

    #17 - Cal Conway - 179 TPE
Trending UP, Moderate risk,  High  potential
With his eye lightning, fast hand speed and reaction time Cal has shown many flashes of stardom. Just look at his numbers and its easy enough with an outstanding .913% Save percentage and almost under 2 Goals against a game at 2.07 GAA.

#18 -The Terrible Trivium- 189 TPE
Trending UP, Low risk, Moderate potential
Trivium is built like a truck and if he can turn that weight into muscle he could very well be one of the VHL’s power forward winger for many years to come. His fantastic positioning when backchecking, a total 200-foot player. His Shot is his best asset registering 297 shots on net in 72 games played.

    #19 - Oh Sens - 162 TPE
Trending UP, Moderate risk, High potential
The Japanese sensation and fan favourite in Miami Oh Sens has a well-rounded skill set with his puck handling and powerful shot make him such an exciting winger. Very strong player physically, look for next season to be a breakout for this young man

    #20 - Ajay Krishna - 152 TPE
No trend, Low risk, High potential
Ajay was once considered the clear cut safest goalie available after the big 3 all set to be taken in the 1st round. Krishna skill is definitely there and with his reaction time paired with his size, his potential in the crease is sky-high. Ajay had a very strong start to the season with high activity and looked to be a lock for the 1st round however the second half of the season Krishna’s progression noticeably declined. Krishna still has time to prove himself as a 1st rounder if he can return to his early-season progression.

    #21 - Dakota Lamb - 173 TPE
Trending UP, Moderate risk, High potential
The most skilled Faceoff man in the draft Dakota Lamb has amazing offensive capabilities with his combined skill set of skating puck handling and offensive IQ. Being the most skilled at  FO points doesn't always win you the most Faceoffs, Dakota has to put on some serious strength to turn those skills into an invaluable asset.

    22- Calvin Harvey - 156 TPE
Trending down, Moderate risk, Moderate potential
Calvin Harvey has had a rough go this season in San Diego much like the rest of his marlin teammates, he was peppered with shots and really had no chance to ever develop confidence on the ice. He has very good reaction time and a nice Style control.

    #23 - Matty Socks - 161 TPE
Trending UP, Low/ Moderate risk, Moderate potential
Matty Socks has been playing phenomenal for the Aces all season. Extremely consistent and without a doubt one of the most skilled defensive defencemen in the draft class as well as the entire league. Along with strong offensive IQ and powerful skating. With some filling out in strength and conditioning as well as passing accuracy socks could be another diamond in the rough

    #24-Kevin King - 145 TPE
    N/A, Moderate risk, High potential
The player with the most intrigue other than John Merrick. Kevin King has only had a short time to prove himself and even with minimal ice time. However, his skills do all the talking. Scoring and defensive IQ are way above most in the class and especially at this position. King has the best faceoffs skills by far in the draft class. With building strength and continuing to progress at this level don't be surprised if Kevin King is a 1st round pick on draft day.

    #25 - Han Jae Kuk - 132 TPE
No trend, Low risk,  Moderate  potential
Han was at one point the hottest name on the trade block with his great early start to the season, but just like the marlins did this season, Han Jae looks to have drowned. He is borderline inactive and potentially falling out of the top 40 if that were the case. Jae Kuk’s has incredible defensive abilities and above-average skating, he has the skill and potential the issue is an effort right now.

    #26 - Alec Volchenkov - 156 TPE
Trending UP, Moderate risk, High potential
Alec Volchenkov is definitely our most interesting and unique player in this draft class and by unique, i am referring to his playing style. Volchenkov is the definition of a Shut down player. His scoring abilities have much work to be done, however, his Faceoffs and defensive play in his own end are above most forward in the VHLM. Volchenkov has the potential to be a lifelong role player in the pros and I could even see him being a team's 1st line Center one day.

     #27 - Jesper Norberg - 142 TPE
N/A, Moderate risk risk, High  potential
Jesper Norberg has come into Vegas hitting the ground running harder than every pair of dice in town combined. This Swedish winger comes over with a diverse skill set highlighted by his IQ in the offensive zone. His passing, puck handling and skating are showing improvements daily along with an impressive build, very strong on his skates.

     #28 - Florent Vericel  - 126 TPE
Trending down, High risk, High potential
The Quick sharpshooting Canadian forward signed early in the season with the newly expanded VHLM franchise in Miami. Florent proved very quickly that he is a consistent and very strong shooter. His shot combined with his speed is by far his best attribute at his ability to find the shooting lanes. Strength along with Puck handling is in need of improvement.
     #29 - Fat Palloon - 122 TPE
Trending UP, Moderate risk, High/ Moderate potential
Mr Palloon has been on the scouts’ radars from the minute he stepped on the ice with his incredible defensive positioning and willingness to put his body on the line to block shots and passing lanes. Palloon’s season has been somewhat of a roller coaster in terms of production. As of late F.Paloon has made huge strides in his passing accuracy and skating. If he can maintain this progression as of the last two weeks this could be a steal in the draft. Still has a lot of practice to be done over the offseason.

    #30- Jeremy Lin - 136 TPE
No trend, Moderate risk, Moderate potential
The once highly touted prospect Lin has fallen and continues to do so, his activity and progression have hit a hard standstill. With his quick and accurate shot combined with his ability to rush the puck up the ice on his own proves lin has the skill. The question mark is consistency.

     #31 - Kirishima Wakaro - 134 TPE
No trend, High risk, Moderate/Low potential
Kirishima went ghost a couple of weeks this season where is progression really hit a standstill. Wakaro is still quite the question mark for scouts with his activity being monitored very closely. Kirishima has shown moments of stardom from the beginning of the season with his defensive and offensive abilities and positioning along with his skating.

     #32 - Rick Osman - 108 TPE
Trending UP, Moderate risk, High potential
Rick Osman the giant on skates and one of the tallest players in VHLM history Rick a massive 53 banked TPE. His activity has been consistent, never capping out but consistent every week and if Rick can use this offseason to diversify his skill set. Right now his defensive IQ is great but he is really lacking a lot of fundamentals at this level, and must really work on those if he's to ever play in the pros.

    #33 - Gary Rush- 115 TPE:
Trending UP, Moderate risk, Moderate potential
Good 2-way forward with equally strong offensive and defensive IQ. Showing consistent growth in Skating and puck handling. Needs improvement in the weight room and work on checking

    #34- Rocket - 130 TPE
Trending UP, Moderate risk, Moderate potential
Rocket is a really solid welfare prospect who takes advantage of uncapped opportunities as well. He usually earns 6-8 capped TPE, and whatever uncapped TPE he can get his hands on as well. There’s a good amount of potential in him as a scoring winger, and hopefully, his steady progression keeps up.

    #35 - Bobbie Cheechoo - 97 TPE
Trending down, High risk, Moderate potential
A prospect battling with inactivity at the moment, Bobbie Cheechoo is a pure goal scorer with an exceptional combination of skating and a heavy shot. If he can return to form, there’s definitely some potential here.

    #36 - S Kuchar- 113 TPE
    N/A, Moderate risk, Moderate potential
Late season signing with the Lynx after they shipped out their top two forwards Kuchar picked up the slack with ease, averaging almost 4 shots on net per game and registering a point per game. Kuchar is proving he can score in this league

    #37 - Empty - 110 TPE
Trending down, High risk, High potential
Started off very hot in Halifax scoring over 50% of their goals in his first 10 games played. Incredible offensive abilities and very good defensive IQ, his progression however after the WJC has come to a standstill and Empty has become a real question mark going into the draft.

    #38 -Keno Wolf- 99 TPE
Trending down, High risk, Moderate potential
After showing a promising first three weeks, Keno Wolf has only earned 2 TPE over the last 2 weeks, which is quite worrying. If he comes back, it would be good for him to work on his puck handling, which seems to be a weakness as of today. Being able to claim 6 TPE welfare, Wolf shouldn’t have too hard of a time getting back to where he was just a couple weeks ago; It’s just about finding the time and motivation to stay consistent.

    #39 - Peekay Soupcan - 88 TPE
Trending down,  High risk, Low potential
Peekay has recently gone inactive, a promising youngster started off very strong with consistent activity and production, his scoring and skating are his greatest attributes, if Peekay remains on this trend he will be as quiet as his recent activity.

    #40 - Victor Grachev- 129 TPE
Trending UP, Moderate risk, High potential
Very Intriguing prospect Victor is a 1st-time VHL User as well as this being his first experience with any Sim League and he hit the ground running! Grachev has used literally every opportunity to earn the most  TPE possible since joining and the effort he has put in so far is incredible, consistency will be the big factor with him. Phenomenal Defensive D-man, very good 1st pass and puck handling knows his role and plays it well. Still needs to fill out his frame and fine touching his overall skill set.
Dont be surprised if he goes in the 1st round - "Spence King"

    #41 - Ben Mills- 73 TPE
Trending down,  High risk, Low potential
Pint-sized Ben Mills started off the season strong playing much more minutes in Mississauga. As the season has progressed it seems as if Mills is going to be a Welfare/Practice player only and if that at best with his inconsistency has him trending down. Good defensive skill and potential, fairly well-rounded skill set, his development seems to have just hit a dead end.

    #42 - Jiggly Gumballs - 122 TPE
    N/A, Moderate risk, High potential
In only 16 games played and being in VHLM for 2 weeks, Jiggly Gumballs has shown signs of greatness and potential stardom. His defensive abilities and positioning in his own end are impeccable and might be the best shot-blocker I’ve ever seen. Very well rounded skill set and sure to skyrocket up the list if this activity trend continues.

    #43 - Wane Jetski - 87 TPE
    N/A, Moderate risk, Moderate potential
Scouts have only had a short time to view Jetski since recently joining the league. His scoring touch and skating abilities are what stand out the most. Still needs work in the defensive end along with his hand-eye puck skills.

    #44 - Theodore James St Louis  - 90 TPE
Trending UP, Moderate risk, High potential
In his very short time so far in the VHLM Theodore James St Louis has made a great impression on VHL scouts his very well rounded game and truly game-changing ability when he’s on the ice for his team. Much about TJS is still unknown as to what role he will take on, St Louis has a very diverse skill set and could potentially be the steal of the draft if his activity spikes.

    #45 - Teriyaki Chicken  -  TPE 78
Trending down, Moderate risk, Moderate potential
Teriyaki is definitely one of the smaller D in the league but he is built like a truck. His biggest assets are his Checking and defensive skills, a very good stay at home defence. Needs to really work on his passing and puck handling

    #46 -Drew Minott - 120 TPE
Trending UP ,  Moderate risk,High/ Moderate potential
The sky's the limit for this big lanky Goaltender with a very well rounded skill set, the sample size is small so far, Minott continues to show impress scouts more every game.

    #47-Joromir Jogr - 107 TPE
Trending down, Moderate risk,  Moderate potential
Jogr has gone dark for a while, a very fluid skater and knows how to use his body to create scoring chances, very high hockey IQ and shows flashes of greatness. Really need to work on his passing accuracy

    #48 -Tim Kameshev - 64 TPE
Trending down, High risk, Low potential
Kameshev is almost strictly a practice player as of recently however has shown moments of great potential, his skating is what separates him from his peers. Needs a lot of improvement and a big increase in fine-tuning his entire skillset.

Bayley got a reaction from Da_Berr in Why to pick Adrienne over Walker
With the Season 73 VHL Draft coming up after the Las Vegas Aces with the Championship, there is an important question to ask, who should you choose, Tyler Walker or Micah Adrienne? Well, how about I help you with that.

Tyler Walker was a -10 in his rookie season with the San Diego Marlins. Why would you want someone that had a negative impact on his team. Micah played 4 more games than Walker did and had a +15 in the rookie season. So clearly, you should pick Adrienne.  Look at the defensive attributes. On defense, you want Checking and defense. Tyler Walker has 50 checking and 80 defense. Micah Adrienne has 69 checking (nice) and 87 defense. Why do you want someone that is purely offense on your team? No one likes a showoff.  Walker had 60 hits on his opponents. You want someone who is soft and refuses to hit someone? Mich Adrienne had 250 hits. You do the math, do you really want someone who cannot hit.  Also, if you want someone who puts stuff into scoring, at least make sure he scores more goals. 23 goals is more than 21 by my last count.
So, there, why would you choose Tyler Walker? I am not seeing the evidence.

@Advantage I hope you enjoyed this piece of humor. I do plan on keeping up our rivalry for a while, so enjoy the ride.

With the Season 73 VHL Draft coming up after the Las Vegas Aces with the Championship, there is an important question to ask, who should you choose, Tyler Walker or Micah Adrienne? Well, how about I help you with that.
