  1. Calgary was for sure the better team. They just scored less, won less, and played more poorly. That means they're better @HenrikZoiderberg
  2. Well researched and incredibly accurate. Hire this man for VSN.
  3. LETS FUCKING GO BEARS!
  4. Apply for USA!
  5. Congrats Van. Golf is a fun game.
  6. 50. I think it was the Bears, brother. We really showed up and kicked some ass. 51. I was. I didn’t have as many minutes, but I still performed close to what I did last season, so I’ll take that as a win. 52. @FrostBeard took off like a rocket. He’s amazing. Future Hall of Famer 53. YVONNE 54. Yep. I knew we’d be #1 in our conference. 56. I think Seattle takes it in 6.
  7. Everyone get your lines in ASAP! LETS GO BEARS!!!
  8. I'm scared
  9. inb4 new Seattle Overlords takeover
  10. Review This is a really cool, very minimalist design. Black and gold always look good together. Very cool geometric elephant. I think the font could've matched a little better, but this is awesome.
  11. Review I like the clean, symmetrical look of this one! Good color scheme too. The font placement in the word Vipers is a little awkward. But cool look.
  12. Review Incredible. How the top one wasn't our logo I will never know. I really like both of these and it would've fit the meme-heavy Mississauga locker room perfectly. I think a little more black in the dark lines would make it look even better.
  13. Review Like the soft lines and the blending on this one. It makes it feel like a college team logo or something. Good color combination. I think the scroll behind the font is a little distracting however, and it would look cleaner without it.
  14. Review Really nice animation, again. Cool color scheme and neat devil design. The font feels a little shoehorned into the frame and I think it would've looked better under it. Really cool.
  15. Review Cool logo! Great coloring and nice design! The orange stands out and compliments the blue nicely. Would've liked the color scheme incorporated into the font somehow, but that's a very minor quibble.
  16. Review I like the effort here. Very reminiscent of a Christmas card to me. I like the contrast of the red on the VHL logo to the snowy look. The font is a little distracting, and I think it would've looked better centered. Nice job!
  17. Review I really like this. Very spooky. Would've been a cool logo and name for sure. The animation is very impressive. Would've liked a LITTLE more color, however. If you're thinking of it from a team coloring perspective, it's a little bland. But damn impressive animation.
  18. So today, because I don’t want to miss out on my theme week, and because I love DA BEARZ, I thought we could take a look at the Seattle Bears all-time greatest goal scorer, Gabriel McAllister. Just looking him over, he has a couple of interesting things going for him. First, a brief overview of his career, and then an in-depth look at two seasons of his, both of which were in Seattle, baby! McAllister is a two time Continental Cup winner, one with Seattle and one with Davos, a three time Scotty Campbell Trophy winner, three time Scott Boulet Trophy winner, and many other awards across his career. He started with Saskatoon in the VHLM and then was drafted by the Seattle Bears for season 56. He has a career total of 397 goals, 429 assists, and a +/- of 286. He’s certainly deserving to be on the list of All-Time Greatest Seattle Bears. Now, for the two seasons, we’ll be taking a look at seasons 60 and 63. These seasons contained his highest individual performances, although the team didn’t win the Continental Cup in these years. The Bears finished second in the league with 48 wins and 19 losses, with only 5 shoot-out losses. McAllister played on the first forward line with teammates Mattias Forsberg at center and Verner Reinholdt on the right. McAllister lead the team in scoring, netting 61 goals and 59 assists across all 72 games of the season. He also had a shot % of 12.01. Sadly, the Bears lost to the Helsinki Titans on the way to their Continental Cup victory. After this, McAllister spent two seasons with HC Davos, which I don’t really want to talk about because it’s Davos (love ya!) For his final season, McAllister returned to Seattle one last time. This is his highest performing season with the team, netting 55 goals and 84 assists for a total of 139 points across 72 games. He again lead the team in points and had a shot percentage of 8.42%. This is where some current and former Bears were playing with him, like then-defenseman Maxim Kovalchuk and Malmo’s Matt Thompson. Once again, however, the Bears didn’t make it to the Continental Cup, falling to the Calgary Wranglers in the first round of the playoffs. Still, the Bears had an impressive season, with 52 wins, 15 losses, and 5 OTL, finishing second behind Riga, who would go on to hoist the cup that year, taking the Wranglers out. I’m sure there are those of you out there who remember these seasons, but I really do think it’s interesting to dig through and see the history of a player like McAllister, especially since it hasn’t really been all that long since he left Seattle behind. Is he the greatest Seattle Bear? Probably not, but he definitely scored the most goals, and that’s pretty good. Now we have to look to the future to see if anyone might one day overtake him. Such is life. ____________ 501 words, claiming for next week’s theme week ending in 10/27 Claiming this one for 12 TPE and claiming the VHL.com Article for 4 for completion of Theme Week
  19. The Seattle Bears are holding a history night this upcoming weekend. The event is expected to cover the history of the team and some of it’s all-time greatest players. Since starting in Season 20 of the Victory Hockey League, Seattle is one of the oldest franchises. “Many have come and gone, but Seattle is still standing, baby,” says Seattle forward Scott Greene. “I remember watching Seattle when I was much younger, It’s crazy that it’s already been 47 seasons of Seattle. Where has the time gone?” Members of the Bears organization are filming a short video celebrating the history of the franchise to play at the event. The entire current Bears roster is expected to attend the event, as well as retired Bears alumni. “It’s going to be a celebration,” says Greene. “I can’t wait to speak with some of the older players about their experiences. It should be a really good time!” ———- 153 words, claiming for theme week ending on October 27th. Claiming this article for 4 TPE for completion of Theme Week
