Review: Really sick signature with a nice high quality close up and effect. it gives me a cool almost retro-future kind of feel to it which I'm all about! The player itself is perfect for the colors giving the viewer chills and the font keeps it simple and not too complicated. Solid work!

Review: I like this signature a lot! The background blends well with the color choice that helps amplify the player and the two styles of fonts that gives it it's own personality. Well done!

Review: Very cool graphic with good team representation in the background. I don't mind the size of the player however I would like to see the text for the name pop out a tad more without losing the effect entirely but just my opinion. Overall, well done!

Review: Very vibrant and definitely pops! I really dig the effects along with the color and the font makes it look more personalized for the player. Simple things but added together makes a great complex product!

Review: Good to see a fellow Italian in the league! Reading the work ethic in the rink and value of his family, It's good to see Kaspars thinking of supporting the family that supported him by getting his degree as a backup plan. Hearing about the sacrifices that the family had to endure for the sake of his training was pivotal for his development cause he understood the real cost for his parents. Hope to see Kaspers make his family proud and well written!

1. How did you come up with your name? My grandmother's favorite opera singer was Luciano Pavorotti and couldn't resist my mother to not carry on her love for him in naming me. 2. Do you have any long term VHL goals, HOF, championship, well known player? A championship, of course! Besides that, I'd love to make a name for myself as a reliable, intelligent and well-rounded defenseman with legendary status. 3. Why did you pick the position you play? There's no better feeling in the world than to match your opponent's speed and anticipating his movements and shutting him down... all skating backwards. 4. We recently have gone 50/50 on our games, how do you feel about this? It's rough but everyone goes through a rough patch and tastes dirt before being able to wash that taste out with a sip from the championship cup haha We'll snap out of it. 5. We currently have Thorvald Gunnarsson 2nd in shutouts at 4, do you predict our defence/goalie is going to continue playing this hot? Of course! Gunnarsson is a monster between the pipes, seeing his play out there makes me as a defenseman want to play my guts out for him to help support him on the defensive zone. 6. Has anybody stood out to you so far, if so who? Owen Nolan is really killing it with the number of goals he has in the first season! The guy has 10 right now and that's second on our team, that dude is worth keeping an eye on for sure. Pierre Persson is a hitting machine out there that makes a significant difference out there, encourages me to work on my hits for sure!

Review: Solid job on implementing the player and blending him into the black/red background. Great choice in text and I like the addition of the black boxes behind it to make it look sleek! Not sure what effect you used on the player to make him glow but it definitely pops in a good way. Solid job!

Review: Awesome colors and special effect surrounding the player! Also great job on blending in the player with the background. The text looks clean, not too too dark but just legible to read and for the background. Well done!

Dirt McGert - The Origin of Gert B. Frobe [2/2]

Review: Incredibly graphic (pictures are priceless) and absolutely a riot to read! Glad to see Gert's parents were in full support of his playstyle and hockey career. Great redemption story for Gert and awesome backstory on both parents regarding their careers and as role models for him. I'm very much interested in seeing what kind of bruising Gert will do in the VHLM and also terrified to play against him haha Awesome write up and can't wait to read more! -
Review: Well written biography Fish! Great story and emphasis on parent's opinions on the sport. The loss of the mother adds a great realization point for both the father and the player and provided great inspiration to make Dad and mom, if she were alive, proud after all they've done to get Bruce to that point. Glad to see the Fish made it back to water and looking forward to reading more!

Defenseman Luciano Valentino (Center) celebrating after his only goal thus far in his first VHLM season. HALIFAX, NS - The hometown Halifax 21st got off on a rocky start this season but were able to even themselves out in the standings with a solid 3 wins, 3 losses tally. Although many would be skeptical on the team's success, the Halifax locker room says otherwise. "It's the first time many of us have played at this level but I am very certain that we, as a team, can turn things around with the help of our veterans and coaching staff," The Rookie and Assistant Captain Luciano Valentino assured. The Italian born defenseman has spoken louder in his actions rather than words in the place that matters most: on the ice. Although it's his first season in the VHLM, Valentino currently leads the team in points with nine points including eight assists, a goal and twelve shots blocked. When asking for a reaction of such a performance Valentino replied, "This is a team game, I can't put up numbers up like that if it weren't for the great teammates I have with me on and off the ice." His words were not wrong. In Halifax's last game against San Diego, Valentino only provided one assist after his teammates Joakim Sakic, Owen Nolan, and Ryszard Franciszek netted a goal each following a great shut out performance by Thorvald Gunnarsson between the pipes. This is a team game after all. 228 words

Review: Great take on the void that his father left him and diverting that angst and desire for a father-figure into his game. I really enjoyed the transition from the beginning to the introduction of his coach that would help mentor him throughout his young hockey career and development. Great read and well written! -

1.) What do you think of our quik turnaround from the harsh start from the season? I'm thrilled! I think this group of vets and news guys like me are just starting to click so don't count us out yet! 2.) Did you have nerves coming into the season? If yes, have you shaken them off yet? Of course, I'm playing at a professional level for the first time in my career but I'm thankful to be surrounded by great players, coaches, and staff to help me adjust. 3.) How has the city of Halifax treated you so far? Halifax is great! Reminds me of the coastal towns back in my home country but the people here are much friendlier and the fans are great. 4.) How has the adjustment been coming into a new league like the VHLM? The adjustment has been a little rocky at the start in trying to figure out where I fit but I'm starting to really figure out the plays and team chemistry. 5.) Has anyone mentored you so far? The coaching staff, the locker room, especially the vets on this team in past seasons are great people to look up to. There are too many to name. 6.) What are your thoughts on the captains that were announced? I couldn't be more honored to wear this A on my jersey and proud of the others selected. I hope I can be a role model in the locker room one day. 7.) Is there something Halifax needs to improve on? I think it's hard to tell cause it's so early in the season but I think whatever kinks we have left will be polished and perfected in no time. 8.) If you could play against anyone in the VHL, who would it be? Give me some time, I think I could shut down almost any VHL out there in the future.

+10 Luciano Valentino

The new Halifax 21st Defenseman Luciano Valentino began his contract year by hosting a hockey camp catered to inner city youth in Nova Scotia. Coming from a small impoverished town in Italy, Valentino wanted to give the kids in his new home address an opportunity to remember. The camp was hosted over the weekend of July 6th-7th and allowed over 100 kids across Nova Scotia, ages 8-12, to enjoy skating and remembering they are just kids. At camp the kids learned skating basics, puck handling, and most importantly defensive strategies and scoring. The camp was from 8 am to 3 pm with lunch and snacks catered by his mother’s family restaurant, Valentino’s. When we asked Daisy, Luciano’s mother, what she served she stated “Pizza and Italian ice of course! That’s what I would make for Luciano before every practice. Now look at him, VHLM. That’s my boy!” Seeing how the camp was a great success, Luciano states that he is interested in hosting more of these camps in the future. “The kids were a blast, seeing them get a chance to put on skates and play their heart reminds me a lot of my youth. I just want to let the fans and community here know how grateful I am to have me here and give them something to smile about,” Luciano asserted.

The Life So Far of Raymond Bernard [2/2]

Review: I love a great detailed story with a very realistic and relatable setback with positive ending resulting from personal growth cause that’s exactly what I felt like I just read! Especially choosing the goalie position and transitioning from soccer to hockey and having that internal conflict within oneself. The included coach quote is golden and a great asset to the story. Well done and I can’t wait to hear more on him! -
Review: Great backstory on his youth and being the child of a Hockey Legend with high expectations. Also glad to see that his lessons from his heroes can be contagious within the locker room in a positive manner and I can only imagine a great redemption story after that final game against the USA and how it could further motivate him in developing his skills to compete with the best of the best. Well written and can’t wait to read more!
