So now that Project 2.2 is being discussed publicly, I think it's a good time to discuss how I specifically would handle such a project, especially how it would work with my role as Ottawa GM. 1. I would participate, but only on a welfare level. My P1 would still be the primary focus. The only times P2.2 might get a full PT worth of value is if we were awarded a free week, either through a league giveaway or if I used one from a donation. This would still be viable since welfare pays out pretty well, especially if you've had good players before. 2. I'd probably be the only one with this particular focus given the way many view the VHLM, but my player would primarily be a VHLMer, even artificially so. If I got to 125 before the VHLM cutoff, I'd immediately stop adding. I'd use it much like the VHL GMs use their players, as a way to permanently boost my team (of course I'd have to acquire him first, likely via draft, so it would be fair for the other teams since he's not a free piece). He'd also almost always be a passing and defensively oriented forward, since so many new players tend to go scoring first, so that my guy could fit well on a line with theirs and give them success early on, which in turn could keep them going and keep their interest in the league up. If there was a point where players would have to go up, I'd be faced with a decision - either retire and make a new 2.2 player, or just go ahead and go up, but at no point would my main focus with a 2.2 be the VHL.

Agreed - VHLM could probably expand from this, but not VHL.

I like this idea, there are obviously some things to work out (Trifecta's thing about wanting P2 to become P1 - not sure where I stand on it, but it's something we'd have to decide on either way) 2. You know I'd get him to 125 and stop for a while, basically make a VHLM-only passer to set up any first gens I'd draft with a scorer build (should help retention at least, if they see their guy doing well). Then in the 5th season when he'd be auto-retired otherwise (and only then, no sooner) I'd debate adding to him and getting him to the bigs

As far as options - I personally don't enjoy the PC that much. Since I already get job pay (2 from VHLM GM) am I still eligible to review some here and there

I don't have many picks (sold them all off for a cup run, and we're up 2-1 in the final so it might have worked). If you're somehow around when I have a pick, I'd definitely be interested in bringing you on board. Yukon has most of the picks though so I'd say about 60% chance you end up there

I remember playing FM12 where Karius was the half star goalie prospect with 5 star potential for Mainz (and I played as Mainz a few times over the years, especially considering I kept going back to FM12 until I finally caved and bought FM16) and I always used to send him off on loan deals until he eventually led Mainz to the Bundesliga title. Shame something like that couldn't happen for him, although admittedly I'd be significantly less interested in it happening for Pool.
