It's a mind game. I just saw this same tactic in the show Vikings. Vote for the enemy King but persuade all to vote for you. You win and save face. Clearly he's trying to swerve us. Thus all must clearly see the logic in ending him now before he becomes unstoppable.

It's also a tactic to avoid being lynched. It makes the town think that maybe you're the jester, so they're more reluctant to lynch to you.

@Doomsday decides to take matters into his own hands and kill @Alex Bridges. He does, but that doesn't accomplish anything as Alex isn't a citizen of the town.

The sun rises on day 2, and the first thing anyone notices is that "MURICA" has been written on the wall of the town courthouse in blood. The town knows that the VETERAN got to someone last night, and it's not too long before someone finds @Nykonax, who seems to have gotten just what he gave out last time he was a resident of this town. A good look at his house reveals that he was the CONSORT.

 

Nyko did not leave a last will.

 

Everyone else, though, is present and accounted for! The town has escaped Night 1 unharmed.

 

Day 2 begins now!

I'd say it's more likely the mafia hit someone with high defense or someone that was jailed.

Even if the Mafioso was blocked, the GF would carry on with the kill.

Unless both were blocked, by some sort of mircale.

You'd have to rb both gf and mafioso to stop the mafia kill, so likely they just hit Hatter. Unless they hit another evil with defense and the SK hit them. Most likely though there probably isn't an SK and we're dealing with an Arso, WW, or Jugg.

Yeah I hadn't realized to be honest.  Also according to the role sheet the only neutrals are Neutral Evil and random Neutral (and possibly the random role if they end up neutral) so it's possible there might not even be a NK.
