First of all, I'd like to thank all of the applicants for applying for this position, receiving over a dozen applications through here, PM and Discord DM was surprising! Please don't be discouraged because I didn't select you, I have a very fine particular taste so I can't just let anyone -- INTERNALLY -- call me an idiot when I fuck up, alright? There is an open Las Vegas AGM position available, so head on over there and apply. Proto is looking for his first official AGM after taking the reigns, so everyone here has a great chance at another AGM position.

As the trade deadline approaches, scouts across the league have been paying attention to another VHL event: the opening of declarations for the Season 73 draft.  With these new players entering the VHLM as free agents, many VHL teams will be keeping an eye on how this draft class shapes up.  And so far, we’ve already seen an interesting development in the recently declared draftees.  Compared to past seasons, it appears that there is a much larger number of relatively high-caliber goaltending talent.
As it stands, there are four goaltenders that most GMs will probably be looking at as early picks: Canadians Jordan Tonn and Jean-Pierre Camus, American Cal Conway, and Greenlander Grekkark Gyrfalcon.  That’s not even to mention the other netminders who have declared for the draft in Mikkel Kjotthaug and Emery who could very well move up draft boards depending on the other players in their position.  For the time being, Tonn and Gyrfalcon appear to be the two leaders among this class.  With so many goalies coming into the league at the same time, this could make for an interesting future of goaltending in the VHL.
 

In the latest attempt for the Toast player agency to make its big return to the VHL, it seems the player they are representing is not even seen in the eyes of the VHL or the VHLM. 
 
Toast's player Larry Butz opted to sign with the Ottawa Lynx a few weeks ago. In the 56 games played with the team thus far, Butz has registered a solid 0 points. This may be due to the fact that Ottawa has played Butz for an average of 1.6 minutes per game and does not currently have Butz on any lines. It seems the minimal effort from Butz to perform on the ice has been taken as an insult and he is now watching the games from the press box. 
 
Larry Butz currently finds himself ranked 49th in the S72 VHL Entry Draft rankings, but will a pro team be willing to take a shot at using a draft pick on him? 
 
"I'm just trying to do whatever I can," said Butz. "If Ottawa thinks that I'm better off serving hot dogs at a concession stand during the game, that's cool! I'm just happy to be here and doing my part!"
 
While Butz seems overjoyed at the fact that he doesn't have to do much on the ice, his player agent certainly doesn't share the same feelings.
 
"It's frustrating," said Toast. "I was intrigued by the Ottawa offer for Butz, but it's clear maybe that wasn't the greatest idea. We're going to work at being better on the ice and hopefully with the upcoming VHLM and VHL drafts, general managers will acknowledge that."
 
As the season approaches its end, will Butz find himself playing any sort of role in the Ottawa post-season run?

Hi @Shaka. welcome back! I'm the GM of the Philadelphia Reapers. I'm going to be honest. I have the top goalie in the league right now and we're in the middle of an intense cup run. We have a spot for a backup goalie, but it's likely I will never play you this season. But we have a locker room and I enjoy hearing old war stories, so join us to kill some time until next season.

Welcome back to the VHL Minors! I'm the GM of my local kickball team and I think you'd be the perfect fit to join us. We're not very good yet but we have a lot of promise. Gerald had to go to his uncles all summer and so we had to replace him with Eugene, which is pretty significant downgrade but we're managing it. Plus, Eugene's goldfish just died so his head just hasn't been in the game. I think you'd give us the boost we've been looking for to beat the 5th graders.

The Saskatoon Wild would love to add you in their ranks. We already have a starting goalie, but if you join us, I'd split the starts between the two of you for the rest of the season. We are pretty a middle-of-the-pack team right now. We win some, lose some. We are pretty much locked in the playoffs, but might have trouble against the top teams when we get down there. But hey, who knows?

S73 goalie battle ?

The  @Commissioner team discussed it and actually decided that given the circumstances this actually is a fair solution. So, as of now, S73 creation is open. We'll be writing the guys that joined since Monday and they can choose whether they'd like to be in the S72 draft or the S73 draft.
