Spartan got a reaction from rory in TMZ Breaking News: Las Vegas Aces Edition!
TMZ has an exclusive image of Las Vegas Aces Alex Letang, GM Proto (@Proto), ex-AGM Viper (@Viperxhawks19) and newly hired AGM Muffin (@.sniffuM) passed outside the MGM Grand in Las Vegas!
It appears that Letang and Proto were celebrating the end of a long and grueling season together, where the Aces managed to make the playoffs and make quite a statement. The young club managed to defeat the Philadelphia Reapers in the first round, but were bounced out by the dangerous Yukon Rush. The duo were joined by new LVA AGM Muffin, seemingly to welcome him to the organization.
However, TMZ spotted Viper crashing the party as he so often does. TMZ also acquired audio of Proto yelling "BANNED! BANNED! BANNED!" when he first saw Viper, and it could be possible that @GustavMattias, @Enorama, and @fonziGG were also accompanying Proto and Letang, as they were spotted being thrown outside the casino. However, all three promptly stood up, dusted themselves off, and walked back inside while yelling "I'm back bitches!!!!!"
Hopefully this incident doesn't scare GM's away from drafting Letang at the upcoming VHL Draft, as Letang has a reputation now of being quite the party animal. When TMZ caught Letang after he awakened from his drunken stupor, he mumbled "It's all Proto's fault." While this behavior is concerning, it is also the sign that the young Letang knows how to have a good time. TMZ will be watching faithfully for future Letang incidents!

1. Who on the team would you want to host a summer barbecue and why?
Me! Nothing better than a beautiful bbq on the east coast of Canada!
2. Who on the team would you keep as far away from the grill as possible?
Also me. I’m the host, not the cook!
3. What would you toss on the grill as your own contribution?
BBQ hamburgers man, nothing better!
4. At this summer barbecue, what's your go-to drink?
Just a beer kind of guy. Mixture of my favourite beers from my go to craft beer spot.
5. What's one food item you absolutely hate seeing on the grill and why?
Not much that I won’t eat off of the bbq. Pork chops maybe?
6. If you had a hot dog eating contest at this barbecue, who would win?
Former teammate Boris The Forest. Dude is a giant! Need to eat a lot of dogs to sustain that body

1. Han Solo/Chewie tandem for sure.
2. Following the rest of the playoffs. Not really rooting for either team but it's still hockey.
3. I feel like Ryo has outgrown his gear for some time now.
4. Interacting with people (obvious answer). Quarantining has been peaceful. Not fully enjoying it, but has its perks.
5. The Strokes new album was great (and overdue). Been on repeat for a couple weeks now.
6. Something with animals probably. Or a coach. Or both. Can dogs play hockey

Spartan got a reaction from Patrik Tallinder in Tallinder's S72 Draft Profiles: Part 8 - The End Of An Era

Spartan reacted to Patrik Tallinder in Tallinder's S72 Draft Profiles: Part 8 - The End Of An Era
Welcome everyone, to my final draft profiles article. This was a really tough decision to make, as this series has been a huge part of my time in the VHL so far. I will have an article in the near future, talking about why I'm moving on from it, and what you can expect from me in the future. To make it brief, it's been over half a year since "S70 Draft Profiles - Part 1" came out, and I don't want this series getting old and played out over time. Plus, this gives me a chance to be more creative with my future articles.
I owe a lot to this series, as it's opened a lot of doors for me. Thank you to everyone who has shown it support at any point during its time on here.
That being said, you can still expect draft coverage from me, just not as often, and not in this format. Without further ado, let's do this one last time.
Spencer Elsby earned the most TPE in the draft class last week, with 21.
Klaus Scrungledorf retired last week.
Spence King was hired as the AGM of Philadelphia last week.

RISER OF THE WEEK
Joseph Gainer - LW - 133 TPE @joeg
Gainer might just be my favourite stroyline of the draft. There's something about good prospects who join late, and I can never help but root for them. This is the case for Gainer, and previously guys like Vin Calia, Justin Graves and Ike Bennett. Clearly, these picks don't always work out, and their smaller sample size with earning TPE means more risk of inactivity down the road. However, the thing about them that I really like is the star potential in them, and the fact that they could end up a steal at their draft slot if all goes well. For reference, Gainer is currently my 21st ranked prospect of this draft. If someone were to draft him at 21st overall, and then he turns into a star, the pick looks amazing. This player has not missed any capped TPE in any of his full weeks yet, and has pieced together a nice scoring forward build. I wish him the best in his development, and hope he turns into the steal he could be.

Jay Jones, Riley Knight Gee, John Poremba, and Nils Friedriksen each hit 100 TPE last week.
Andrew Su, DeFenz Mann, Izzy Valencia, Chance Rust, Larry Butz, and Joakim Lund won the Founder’s Cup with Ottawa!
ACHIEVEMENT CENTRE’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Andrew Su - C - 232 TPE @Da_Berr
Well, here comes my last profile of the series, and it deservedly belongs to Ottawa center Andrew Su. Moving up to 7th in my rankings this week, Su has been amazing both on and off the ice. In terms of his elite skillset on the rink, the Canadian teenager shines with the puck on his stick. He is a versatile threat in both zones, with the ability to read plays and turn them into opportunities. This led to his 51 goals and 99 points this season, and that's not including his additional 20 in the playoffs. His TPE earning has also been incredible, earning 16+ in six separate weeks, and only missing out on 2 capped TPE in 10 full weeks. Especially after winning the Founder's Cup and creating the new Miami Marauders logo, Su has established himself as a tremendous talent in this draft.

Spartan reacted to Oatex in Miami Marauders AGM Hiring Thread - HIRED
Greeting Krice,
I already told you I am going to try and be as serious as possible in this, so here I go... grab some popcorn and a camera, this will be funny. I am your best option here Mr. Krice. I am as active as a gym rat, and if you think i’m active in the Yukon LR, just you wait, i’m way more active in San Diego, and Davos, teams that I play for, and if I get hired, I will be just that active in Miami as well! Back when I was in my rookie season in San Diego, I was their team scout, and when I became AGM I even got to help with the draft. I am wanting one more chance at an AGM position and I think Miami is the place for me. I am also very good at keeping locker rooms active, and positive. I am great at welcoming new people and showing them around.. or at least that’s what fong said... anyways - I think I am the perfect fit for your team, and would be more than glad to be your first ever AGM.
Yours truly,
The 6 foot 3, 198 pounds of beauty, Alex Bridges

Spartan reacted to Ricer13 in Miami Marauders AGM Hiring Thread - HIRED
These are exciting times in the VHLM. I am proud and humbled to be apart of this expansion process as the Miami Marauders first General Manager and I am looking for someone to join the ride with me. I will be leaving this thread here until after the playoffs have ended but wanted to give ample time for everyone to apply.
What I am looking for in an Assistant GM is:
-Activity: I want someone who will be a great locker room presence and can help build a sociable atmosphere in the Discord LR as well as in the forums.
-Recruitment: Assisting I’m recruiting and helping new members as they join the league and making the transition as smooth as possible to keep them around.
Any additional tasks will be discussed upon hiring!
Good luck to all those who apply!

1. In honor of the day, who is your favorite Star Wars character?
I'm going to go with Han Solo. He's a main character, sure, but he comes with an edge. And I'm all for anybody who has witty one liners.
2. Since we've been officially eliminated from the playoffs, how are you killing the time?
Between that and quarantine, it's not the most fun time in New York right now. Just a lot of Netflix and ice cream, which probably isn't great for our training...
3. Now that the season is over, which player on our team really needs to get a fresh set of equipment?
A Red Guy saw a lot more pucks against him than I would've liked this year, might need a new pad or two.
4. Looking ahead to the offseason, what is one thing you're actively going to avoid doing?
Watching the playoffs. It's just a bit too much right now, I don't want to see what could have been.
5. What's a song you've been listening to recently that you would recommend to others on the team?
In my sad about missing the playoffs state, it's been a lot of emo. I'm not sure how many other players want to listen to The Cure, but sure.
6. If your VHL player had to get a summer job, what would it be and why?
I think I'd be a pretty good body guard. I certainly have the penalty minutes and the goon status for it.

Heya there, on this lovely May 4th, I got some more questions for you!
1. In honor of the day, who is your favorite Star Wars character?
Darth Revan from Knights of the Old Republic
2. Since we've been officially eliminated from the playoffs, how are you killing the time?
Just staying busy with other work and such!
3. Now that the season is over, which player on our team really needs to get a fresh set of equipment?
I believe my current equipment is a few seasons old now so I could use a new set for the upcoming season. Hopefully I can get a big paycheque!

Spartan got a reaction from Jubis in DREDGE! !!!
Doing a little review work here, but my first glance at your sig saw some really good stuff. Overall concept and execution is really well done, love the tint and stormy clouds over the player. Might have needed to get a little better image for the background since there appears to be a decent amount of visual pixelation, but you worked with what you had and made it really good! The "Calgary Wranglers" text may not need to be as opaque as it is, but that may just be a personal preference. Overall, I think you could have added a few more overlays to make this pop overall, and perhaps found a slightly better background, but I really like it! I'd give this a solid 8/10.

Spartan reacted to Quik in S72 VHLM Expansion
VHLM EXPANSION
It's no secret that the VHLM has had an awkward format for a number of seasons now, with 11 teams being in the league for the past 6 seasons. Well, the league has decided that it's finally time to round that number off and add #12. I could keep writing things to extend the length of this paragraph, or I could tell you the name of the team...I'm sure you would rather the name, so without further ado, the VHLM's newest franchise:
With 12 teams, there are of course some rules that need to be addressed, as changes include the introduction of Divisions, and a schedule that will follow that of the VHL. There will also be a new playoff format that will be introduced. Oh, and there won't be an expansion draft, either.
The changes are as follows:
Division
Theusch Division (701) -> HFX, PHI, MIA Glasser Division (DA) -> MIN, OTT, MIS Corcoran Division (Corco) -> SSK, LVA, YUK Kendrick Division (Kendrick) -> MEX, HOU, SDM
Each of these members for whom the divisions are named after, have made a large impact on both the VHLM, as players, GMs and/or commissioner, as well as the VHL as a whole, and are wholly deserving of the honour!
Playoff Format
Each Division winner will be guaranteed a home playoff spot, while the next 4 teams in the playoffs will be decided by Wild Card format. Each playoff round will be determined by a best of seven series.
Expansion Draft
What? No Expansion Draft? No, rather than having an expansion draft, the Marauders will be receiving a compensation pick at the end of each round, which will be the 13th draft slot.
S72 Dispersal Draft
The Marauders will draft from the 10th slot in each round of the Season 72 VHLM Dispersal Draft.
---
Welcome and good luck to the Miami Marauders!

Season 72 VHL Draft Lottery
Date: Friday, May 8th, 2020
Time: 1PM EST (Give or take a few minutes)
Before we begin, a refresher on the Draft Lottery Rules:
I'll be conducting the draft lottery with screen shots that have time stamps to show this was all done correctly. I will be using a Random Number Generator from 1-1000, with the winners determined as follows:
1-300:
301-550: (from )
551-800: (from )
801-1000: (from )
Should there be subsequent lotteries, the winning pick's number range will be deducted from the total, and the odds will be re-ordered accordingly.
i.e. If Davos wins with their own pick, the next lottery will be done 1-700, with the odds being split as 1-250/251-500/501-700.
With all that out of the way, here are the Draft Lottery Results:

Spartan reacted to Patrik Tallinder in Tallinder's S72 Draft Profiles: Part 7
Hello everyone, I'm glad to say that I'm actually on time this week! Welcome to the 25th all-time installment of the draft profiles series, and I just want to say wow, I can't believe we've been doing this for half a year. Thank you to everyone who's been on this ride so far, and continues to read these regularly. But enough of me rambling, let's get to the article.
Chris Hylands and Thomas Moore earned the most TPE in the draft class last week, with 35.
Chance Rust was traded to Ottawa last week.
Kachur was hired as the AGM of Las Vegas last week.
SS Hornet leads S72 draftees in playoff points so far, with 8.

RISER OF THE WEEK
Spencer Elsby - D - 184 TPE @Spence King
It's basically a tradition now that I don't use one of the week's risers as the Riser of the Week, and this section may have to be restructured a bit. Elsby is the Riser of the Week this time because of two things. First off, he moved up two spots to enter my first round projection. Additionally, he became the AGM of the Philadelphia Reapers! This is a massive step in his young career, and will make him a much more attractive option for general managers come draft day. The Finnish defenseman had 35 points this season, and has really developed into a quality two-way defender. His TPE earning has been interesting, since he wasn't earning much TPE at all for a while, before exploding into the great prospect he is today. Fresh off of four straight 20+ TPE weeks, Elsby has truly come into his own lately, and I hope he can keep up that wonderful work ethic he's been demonstrating.

ACHIEVEMENT CENTRE’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jungkok - RW - 218 TPE @tfong
South Korean winger Jungkok has been a staple in the first round since the start of this series. Cracking 50 goals and 100 points, he has been nothing short of a force with San Diego this season. Jungkok has taken advantage of some uncapped opportunities, as well as having a base of 11 TPE every week. He is built to be a defensively responsible sniper, and achieves that without question. User tfong is now on a third player, and is undoubtedly a big part of this community. A job as a mod earns Jungkok 2 TPE each week, and adds to a handful of reasons he will be such a sought after prospect.
