Welcome to the VHL @Brad Smith!
My name is Alex_J32, I'm the AGM for the Philadelphia Reapers. Currently the Philadelphia Reapers are one of the favourites to win the Founder's Cup and I'd like to reach out and offer you a position on our roster! We are building a very competitive team, and would slot you in as a 4th line center. If you continuously build your TPE by interacting within the community and contributing in TPE generating tasks, you'll be able to play more minutes and possibly move up the depth chart!
Here in Philadelphia, we pride ourselves on the players we develop. My GM and I work hard to ensure that every member of the team enjoys their time on the Reapers and builds a legacy to begin their career. Numerous VHL greats got started right here in Philadelphia, and we would love to add your name on the list. We also have a great locker room filled with great players that would love to get to know you!
If you're interested in becoming a Reaper, just quote this post and reply back with #FEARTHEREAPER. Once you do that, we will add you to our roster and get you in the locker room.____________________________________________________________________________________

Darius Marimoto is currently ranked 5th in all-time assists among Reapers, 6th for points, and is tied for 5th in goals. Marimoto was drafted 58th overall for the Reapers in the S73 draft. Although they never broke the 100 point mark Marimoto consistently improved throughout his Reapers tenure scoring 62, 74, and 89 points in each of their respective 3 seasons in Philadelphia. Furthermore, Marimoto was an integral part of the season 75 Reapers Founder’s Cup. After leaving Philadelphia, Marimoto joined the Chicago Phoenix and would go on to win a Continental Cup in season 76 with Chicago.
Testimonial - @DMaximus
If anyone is wondering what it means to be a Reaper, they need to look no further than Darius Marimoto. He lived and breathed Reaper for not only the time he was on the team, but well beyond that. A great, consistent performer, a fantastic locker room presence, and a great person, Marimoto is the textbook definition of a Reaper.
S73 was a lean year for the Reapers, our first selection wasn’t until the 5th round. Darius was overlooked by all teams and fell to us. I’m not sure if that put a chip on his shoulder or what, but Marimoto excelled on the Reapers. He was a great leader, fitting into the role of captain immediately. He remained captain for 3 consecutive seasons, a testament to his loyalty and leadership.
Of course, the highlight of his time on the Reapers was our cup winning season, S75. We had a great team. Great teams need great leaders. Marimoto provided us with that extraordinary leadership and led one of the greatest teams in the history of the VHLM, the S75 Reapers.

Greetings, VHL, and welcome to your season 79 trade deadline recap, where we cover all the trades that happened within the 24 hours before the trade deadline in both the VHL and VHLM. While you’re here be sure to check out some of the other amazing VSN articles that have been released lately!
VHLE Coverage: Team Logos and Changes, Pre-Draft Tournament/Draft Formats| VSN Presents: Trading Toronto
VSN Presents: VHL and VHLM Mid-Season Awards Race |A Sit-Down With the New VHLE GM's and Commissioners
VHL:
Our first trade of the day in the VHL took place between Prague and London in which Prague sent away a pair of prospects for a veteran defensemen and a draft pick.
Prague receives:
General Zod @Matt_O
S80 LDN 4th
London receives:
Alexander Rivers @DrummerBoy15
Deke Rike @JCV
This trade should benefit both teams, Prague in the short term as they gained a great defensemen for their playoff run, and London in the long term as they gained a pair of top prospects. General Zod was having a great season for London prior to being traded with 40 assists and 45 points, better yet is the defensive side of Zod’s game as they had 201 hits and 143 shots blocked during 59 games with London. Zod fills a much needed spot in Prague’s lineup slotting in alongside Nathan Powers on the second pair. London received 2 players who are both having remarkable seasons in the VHLM, Deke Rike and Alexander Rivers have scored 95 and 74 points respectively in 64 games. Both players are improving at a steady pace and could prove to be key players in London’s future.
Shortly after the previous trade London was back to work as they sent another one of their top players to Moscow for another younger player.
Moscow receives:
Kevin King @IamMOOSE
S81 LDN 3rd
London receives:
Kyle Glass @Tbeez99
Similarly to the previous trade this trade saw London sending a solid forward near the end of their career and a pick to Moscow, for a developing player. For Moscow this trade nets them a player who will benefit them next season as they make their playoff push, should they resign in Moscow. Kevin King has had a great season thus far for London with 21 goals and 67 points in 59 games. For London this trade is another sign that they are going into a rebuild adding Kyle Glass who was drafted by Moscow 22nd overall just a couple seasons ago in season 77. Now in their second VHL season, Glass is set to have a similar season to their first as they had 23 points in 63 games with Moscow so far this season. Once again we should see the effect of this trade as soon as next season as King enters the final season of his career and Glass continues to improve.
VHLM:
The VHLM saw significantly more trades than the VHL as there were a total of 5 trades made in the 24 hours leading up to the trade deadline.
The first trade we saw was a textbook VHLM trade as a near capped player went to Mexico City in exchange for a prospect and a pair of early picks heading to Ottawa.
Ottawa receives:
Arno Blugers @bukss_a
S81 MEX 1st
S81 MEX 2nd
Mexico City receives:
Ben Aky @Lilmar
S80 OTT 5th
This trade saw Mexico City gearing up for their run this season by acquiring top defensemen Ben Aky, Aky has had an incredible season with Ottawa scoring 69 points in 62 games played, good enough to be the 8th highest scoring defensemen in the VHLM. Going back to Ottawa was Arno Blugers, Blugers will play an important role in Ottawa’s inevitable playoff run next season. Ottawa also received a first and a second in the season 81 draft, making it highly likely that they will be very competitive in both seasons 80 and 81.
The second trade in the VHLM was between Minnesota and Miami and similarly to the prior trade had a clear buyer and seller.
Minnesota receives:
Barry Bonds Jr @Jim Kovtrash
S81 MIA 3rd
Miami receives:
Logain Ablar @Kelsier
Similarly to Mexico, Miami used the trade deadline to get one step closer to a Founder’s Cup as they are currently in a tight race in the standings with Miami and Philadelphia. Acquiring Logain Ablar immediately improves Miami’s top 6 as Ablar has been nothing short of impressive this season in Minnesota, scoring 40 goals and 36 assists for a total of 76 points in 63 games. Going to Minnesota was Barry Bonds Jr, who has had a solid season as a role player thus far for Miami as they have had 37 points in 61 games and notably had a +30. Minnesota also received a season 81 3rd round pick.
Lastly, in classic VHLM fashion, we saw 4 teams trade 7th round picks, here’s a summary of this chaos:
Minnesota receives:
S81 PHI 7th
Philadelphia receives:
S81 LVA 7th
Las Vegas receives:
S81 MIN 7th
S80 MIS 7th
Mississauga receives:
S80 LVA 7th
That’s all for our season 79 trade deadline, we saw some teams plan for the future, while others got assets to make a push now. Most teams made the decision to hold onto their current rosters and only time will tell how these trades turn out and we’ll see shortly if they have an effect on the season 79 Continental and Founder’s Cup playoffs.

PRESS CONFERENCE: Week of August 29th, 2021
(You don't have to answer every single one, just answer 6 for 2 TPE)1. With playoffs only 12 games away we're in a close battle with Miami and Mexico for the third seed, what will seperate us from these two strong teams?
2. Are you happy with your regular season so far?
3. Who's play on the team has impressed you the most this season?
4. What team of Miami, Mexico, and Las Vegas do you want to play in the first round?
5. Mississauga has set themselves up as the clear favourites, do you think we have what it takes to beat them in a 7 game series?
6. What VHL team has impressed you the most this season?
7. What is your favourite pre-game meal?
8. Are Tacos a sandwich? if no,does that mean a hotdog is a taco?
9. Controversial opinion: McDonalds coffee is better than Tim Horton's coffee.
