Darth Kaprizov reacted to Acydburn in Prague Phantoms Jersey Retirements
With the Retirement of Robert Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito We had to put one of the biggest names in Prague's history into the rafters.

Bouchard is 1st in assists, 2nd in points and tied for 3rd in games played in Pragues history

    It is definitely deserved.

We also have another jersey retirement: Dominic Gobeil
While @Domcut his career short he still managed to become the 3rd highest goal scorer and 3rd highest in points in franchise history.

Gobeils is also well deserved and will be hanging in the Prague rafters!

Darth Kaprizov reacted to Spartan in Not VSN: S78 VHL Re-Draft
What's up folks! Back in October 2021, @MattyFired and I re-drafted the S77 VHL Draft as part of VSN Scouting to see how the draft class fared, and whether teams would make different selections knowing what they know today. It did pretty well, and I had been thinking of doing a new redraft for a bit, so I'll be moving on to the next draft class - S78!

S78 at the time wasn't considered to be a very top heavy draft outside the first two selections, but rather a decently deep class. Players selected in the 4th round of the draft are still active on VHL rosters today! However, 5 seasons later, there have been clear shifts within the draft class, with both very pleasant surprises, and also extremely disappointing letdowns.

Although I don't have Matty collaborating with me on this redraft, the ground rules will remain the same. I will not be redrafting based on what the team needed in S78, but rather what they could use today. In addition, any potential changes to Moscow selections are NOT what I would have done on draft day. I am very happy with my lads ❤️.

    Anyways, on to the draft!
    ---

    1st Overall - Calgary Wranglers - Original Pick: Nils Tallinder - C
    New Selection:  Hard Markinson - @STZ - D
    Original Draft Position: 2nd overall

Selecting first overall was honestly quite a difficult decision to make. Both candidates, Markinson and fellow defenseman Tui Sova, are top defensemen in the league, and any team would be salivating to have either. Calgary already sports a very impressive roster, with very few holes to necessarily fill. The only major issue on their roster is a lack of a 4th defensemen, likely for salary cap reasons. However, in an idealistic world such as this, I will still give Calgary a max-contract tier defenseman and pretend the salary cap doesn't exist. Or if you would like to still acknowledge the cap, I could see a defenseman here being the younger and more offensively talented replacement for impending retiree Greg Eagles. At the end of the day, I selected Markinson over Sova for both the individual accolades Markinson has received (Stolzschweiger and Labatte), and also because Markinson has remained on a single team for his entire career - while Sova had his rights traded to the team he desired to join in FA.

    2nd Overall - Moscow Menace - Original Pick: Hard Markinson - D
    New Selection: Tui Sova - @v.2 - D
    Original Draft Position: 7th overall

Despite being shunned as the new 1st overall pick of the redraft, I don't think there's any chance that Tui Sova slips past 2nd overall. With Moscow losing Markinson to Calgary, a hole has opened up for a new offensively minded defenseman with a physical side to him. Notedly, Sova has nearly 250 fewer PIMs than Markinson, but also around 130 fewer hits. Not much of a downgrade from the physical side, with an added benefit of fewer penalties. Sova would slide in seamlessly on Moscow, taking over as a surefire top pairing defenseman and complementing Aurelian Moreau very nicely. The hope from Moscow management would be that Sova would choose to remain on a team that has made the playoffs for the past 3 seasons, reaching the finals twice. Despite losing a team favorite, there's no question that Sova would provide an equal level of play as Markinson. No shame in moving 5 draft slots up!

    3rd Overall - Moscow Menace - Original Pick: The Seabasstard - C
    New Selection:  The Seabasstard - @Seabass - C
    Original Draft Position: 3rd overall

While The Seabasstard just cracks the top 5 for TPE, and wingers Alex Johnston and Anze Miklavz eye a draft spot upgrade here, the fact of the matter stands that Seabasstard is arguably the top center in this draft class. He has filled a huge role as part of the Menace squad that went to back to back finals, and is currently just one win away from reaching their third finals in a row. The Seabasstard is already 7th in all-time points for Moscow and 5th in all-time goals - there is very little chance that Moscow allows him to slip away in a redraft.

4th Overall - HC Davos Dynamo - Original Pick: Luc Tessier - C
New Selection: Alex Johnston - @Alex - RW
    Original Draft Position: 8th overall

I suppose it's convenient that Alex is the Davos GM now as well, but his player, Alex Johnston, gets selected to Davos as the pure best player remaining on the board. With Davos going through a scorched earth rebuild, there's little reason to pick for need here. Davos simply gets the best player possible, and can either choose to trade him as well for more assets, or keep him in hopes of anchoring a rebuild around him. From the Helsinki trade when he originally moved, it seemed like the veteran winger preferred to join a contending roster, so it seems most likely that Davos would flip Johnston for as much value as possible.

    5th Overall - London United - Original Pick: Sven Reikkinen - D
    New Selection: Nathan Powers - @JB123 - D
    Original Draft Position: 9th overall

London made a very surprising run to the top of the European Conference in S82, shattering expectations that they'd finish outside the playoff race. With the emergence of rookie defenseman Juice Box and a trade for veteran Rolf Fizzlebeef Jr, London's defense corps took a nice step forward. With Sven Reikkinen declaring his intent to retire at the conclusion of the season, he's no longer a viable selection in a redraft - even if he never left London via FA. Nathan Powers is honestly one of the most underrated defensemen in the league, and spent most of his Prague career in the shadows of other defensemen such as award-favorite Battre Sandstrom. Giving Powers a leading role on London could help the young London team take a step forward in their growth, maybe even winning their first playoff series as a franchise.

6th Overall - Vancouver Wolves - Original Pick: Aike Van Giersbergen - G
New Selection: Anze Miklavz - @kelvi - RW
    Original Draft Position: 15th overall

There's not much you can realistically say the defending back to back cup championships really need, especially as they're back in the finals for a third straight season. Take away meta exploitation as the root cause of their success, and they appear to sorely need another elite winger to pair with Jerome Reinhart and Henry Tucker. Anze Miklavz, overlooked at the time of the draft, has flashed very strong offensive potential. Despite only having a single point per game season, Miklavz has 112 goals in 288 games, and has recently developed a strong physical side as well. He'd be an ideal complementary piece on a top scoring line, and therefore the selection for Vancouver here at 6.

    7th Overall - Malmo Nighthawks - Original Pick: Tui Sova - D
    New Selection: Bogdan Trunov - @qripll - C
    Original Draft Position: 22nd overall

Trunov is the first player in this re-draft to have originally been selected outside of the first round - a testament to his work ethic and overall success in the league. Frankly, without the strong run on defense and drafting for BPA, Trunov has the potential to go even higher in a redraft. A loyal player, spending his entire career on Warsaw, Trunov exploded into an offensive weapon as a sophomore, jumping from 37 points to 81 points, and then following a great S80 up with back to back 100+ point seasons in S81 and S82. With Malmo seemingly headed into a rebuild, and apparently due to lose Nathaniel Minion who has been very vocal about leaving the organization, Trunov would be an appropriate upgrade at the position. Perhaps having Trunov would have helped Malmo avoid getting bounced from the playoffs at the hands of Moscow for the past three seasons as well. But that's just speculation. From a current day perspective, Trunov is the best center and player available, and Malmo would be wise to snap him up.

8th Overall - Calgary Wranglers - Original Pick: Alex Johnston - RW
    New Selection: Tobias Reinhart - @Spaz - G
    Original Draft Position: 32nd overall

After selecting Hard Markinson at 1st overall, there really is no clear upgrade for Calgary that wouldn't just be overkill anymore. Sure, Calgary could snap up another strong center in Luc Tessier, or a gritty winger in Henri le Massif. Instead, I have Calgary looking at life after Sirkants Klamasteris here, which is admittedly quite a reach for S78. It seems foolish to draft a replacement 5 seasons in advance, as it would seemingly waste most of Tobias Reinhart's career. However, Reinhart was only a full time starter for two seasons, which in the grand scheme of things, could be bearable. However, Calgary would be very happy to have a replacement for Klamasteris as most of the league struggles to fit a franchise netminder between the pipes for S83 and beyond.

    9th Overall - Prague Phantoms - Original Pick: Nathan Powers - D
    New Selection: David Tavau - @Ahma - D
    Original Draft Position: 11th overall

Yes, I know. Ahma belongs on Davos. But unfortunately, defensemen were the focus of this draft, and remain to be. With Powers gone to London earlier in the draft, Prague needs a new defenseman to lead their blue line. With Powers gone, and both Reikkinen and Sandstrom no longer on the team, Tavau would be the ideal choice for Prague to slot in on their blue line as they hope to compete in S83 again. Losing Powers with no replacement would put Asher Reinhart at the forefront of the charge, which is a massive task for just a single defenseman. Tavau would slide in with the playmaking skills Reinhart lacks, and the combination of a passing oriented defenseman with the offensive brilliance of Asher Reinhart would give Prague a very formidable blueline again.

     10th Overall - Riga Reign - Original Pick: Milk Jugs - D
    New Selection: Aike van Giersbergen - @enigmatic - G
    Original Draft Position: 6th overall

Milk Jugs seems to have been.....well....a dud. The first true "bust" of this class, but potentially replaced with another player who has underperformed in their career. Aike van Giersbergen was tabbed to be the future in net for Vancouver before the organization chose to set their sights on other netminders. However, with Tobias Reinhart heading to Calgary in a redraft, van Giersbergen would be the ideal goaltender selection for Riga here - giving them at least a starter in net. AvG has put up strong numbers in her career, with 24 wins and 20 losses, but sporting a nice 0.917 SV %. With a strong Riga roster on the ice, it could be enough to help Riga stay in playoff relevance.

11th Overall - HC Davos Dynamo - Original Pick: David Tavau - D
    New Selection: Luc Tessier - @KC15 - C
    Original Draft Position: 4th overall

Despite losing out on David Tavau to Prague, Davos redrafts their original selection from 4th overall - adding Luc Tessier back to their roster, this time with a strong winger in Alex Johnston as well. With both Johnston and Tessier on the roster, there could be speculation that Davos wouldn't need to go through the scorched earth rebuild that they did in S82. Even if they did though, they already received a nice haul in return for Tessier the first time. It'd likely occur again.

    12th Overall - London United - Original Pick: Bastian Greiss - G
    New Selection: Darth Kaprizov - @Darth Kaprizov - C
    Original Draft Position: 34th overall

Darth Kaprizov is the largest riser of this season's redraft, going all the way from 34th overall to 12th overall, a whopping 22 spots. Originally selected to Calgary, London now snaps up the sophomore superstar. Despite being a bit of a late bloomer, spending two full seasons in the VHLM and then a season in the VHLE, Kaprizov's rise to the VHL times up perfectly with the youth movement London has in place right now. Kaprizov and That Dude would make up a strong one-two punch down the middle, avoiding the need for Nils Godlander to switch to center from his natural wing position. Kaprizov deserves a lot of praise for his growth, but the best I can do is to make him a first round selection in this redraft.

13th Overall - Los Angeles Stars - Original Pick: Henri le Massif - LW
New Selection: Henri le Massif - @Garsh - LW
    Original Draft Position: 13th overall

In hindsight, LA made the absolute correct choice at 13th overall with Henri le Massif. The versatile winger can slot onto either the first or second lines, and his gritty play style endears him to his teammates, with 212 points and 1,167 hits in 288 games. The team that once couldn't make the playoffs at all rattled off four straight playoff appearances with le Massif, with the French winger notching 30 points in 39 playoff games. LA is home for Henri - and I won't be removing him from his home.

    14th Overall - Warsaw Predators - Original Pick: Tynan Sylvester - D
    New Selection: Nathan Minion - @Minion - C
    Original Draft Position: 20th overall

Tynan Sylvester would make a lot of sense to redraft here for Warsaw, as he would be a cost-effective defenseman who would help keep Warsaw in the playoff picture. However, Warsaw has been struggling to ice a consistent playoff threat, so in my eyes, Warsaw would take the player with the highest value here in order to trade him off in a rebuild. That play is Nathaniel Minion, another sophomore player who jumped out onto the VHL scene even as a rookie, with 222 points in just 144 games. A candidate for Most Improved Player, there's reason to believe that Minion could be highly valued on the trade market despite being a slight tier behind Tessier and Kaprizov for centers in this draft class. However, he's got the potential to be one of the most individually successful centers in the draft class, while also fetching a decent price on the open trade market.

15th Overall - Riga Reign - Original Pick: Anze Miklavz - RW
    New Selection: Nils Tallinder - @Patrik Tallinder - C
    Original Draft Position: 1st overall

After all that in the draft, and after all the seasons since S78, it seems Nils Tallinder ends up where he currently resides - on the Riga Reign. Despite being one of the surefire top 2 prospects of the class and going first overall, it seems the Swede just never put it all together until he was traded to Riga in S82. Failing to even crack a point per game between S78 and S81, Tallinder exploded for 118 points in S82 on Riga. For that reason, I see no reason why Riga wouldn't try to get that kind of production from him all the way back at draft time in S78.

     16th Overall - Helsinki Titans - Original Pick: Damien Salducci - D
    New Selection: Jannik Nylen - @DreMin15 - D
    Original Draft Position: 26th overall

With the final pick of the first round, Jannik Nylen makes a nice jump in the rankings to go 10 slots higher than his original selection to D.C. Helsinki sorely needs VHL caliber defensemen, and Damien Salducci never panned out - even retiring in S82. Nylen started off slow in D.C, only posting 7 points in S79 before being sent down to the VHLE to play for the Bratislava Watchmen. By the end of his time in Bratislava, Nylen was traded to Toronto where he could take his growth and learning to a new team. Through 144 games in Toronto, Nylen has recorded 163 points - production Helsinki would love to have on their blue line as they hunt for a playoff spot.

    ---

Overall, I hope you enjoy this redraft. Let me know where you agree and disagree! And yes, I know Ahma would only play for Davos.

What do you attribute towards our recent success in the win column?
Overall team play has been better since we completed the trade to collect Luc Tessier as it has given the team more balanced attack. We have also been getting timely goaltending during the stretch and that is never a bad thing as the team heads towards the playoffs.

What brand and line of skates do you wear?
Won`t lie since I am not even sure the brands that are actually on peoples feet now a days. I was an CCM or Bauer branded player when I played Junior. I preferred Bauer as hybrid tender since it was more flexible then CCM but I think the merged at one point back in the early 2000`s meaning they are the same branding or were the same branding at that point. I also liked Vaughn but they lacked the high end quality of the other two brands.

How many beers can a hockey player chug, if a hockey player could chug beers?
Depends on the night but I can easily put back a six pack and half a bottle of rum before I am really starting to feel it. In Japan I can drink even more since I don`t find that I can get drunk for some reason. Mind you sake messes me up badly!!

The team chemistry on the ice seems to be working well during the middle stretch of the season, however, sometimes the LR is a tad quiet, how do we make it more active?
Pay people so that real life doesn`t get in the way. I know I am not always in the locker room any more with the fact that over Christmas I started working three jobs. Newspaper delivery, Factory worker and English teacher at a High School so this means I really didn`t have that much time to chat or check much more then the scores of the games since I was working 13hr days. Now I am no longer working the new paper job but still work the other two so it depends on the day now but I am still busy except the weekends but family times take up those two days. But work hours have been cut back to at least 9 hr days now.

The VHL All-Star games took place over the past weekend.  What are your thoughts on the event itself and how your teammates did?
Won`t lie didn`t pay attention but congrats to anyone from the team that took part.

How do you like the new version of Trivia?
I like it but also hate it since if you get a question wrong you should be able to collect another question to replace the one that you got wrong since I am sure I actually answered the question right as I double and triple checked the answer but still ended up with an incorrect so now I need to complete an extra task somewhere to make up that point somehow. But overall I like it better then the old way since you actually have to try; instead of waiting for the answer from a group or team post.

IRL – who plays hockey and what positions?
I am old now and feel out of love with the game from a playing aspect many years ago. Back around 2007 or 08 since life took over and injuries prevented me from playing the game for a while as well. I last played goalie until I was in my early 20`s.

    Game 17 Recap:

A blast of the past from Malmo Nighthawks superstar goaltender King, Artem Tretiak @Molholt as Artem backstops Malmo to a 3 - 1 Victory over the Prague Phantoms in Game 17 of the VHL.

The Nighthawks strikes hard in the first period with 3 goals to take a surprising lead in the game against the Phantoms. Why was it a surprise? Because the Phantoms outshot the Nighthawks 18 to 7 in the first period, but were down 3 - 0.

In fact the game became a nonstop peppering of shots with no production for either teams until late in the third period by Darth Kaprizov @Darth Kaprizov who scored for the Phantoms to give Prague life, making the game 3 -1. Artem Tretiak stood on their head for the Win; stopping 50 of 51 shots faced! A 98% save%. Final shot count was 51 to 36 for the Phantoms over the Nighthawks. Malmo takes it 3-1.

Darth Kaprizov reacted to Baby Boomer in The twenty-seventh chapter of Baby Bob's life (Beginning of the season)
    Hello everyone,

Welcome to the twenty-seventh chapter of Baby Bob's life story. In this life story we will talk about the life of Baby, when he was young, his thoughts and his impressions before the drafts, during the seasons and during the playoffs. Baby Bob will also respond to questions from the fans, from the GMs and from the leaders of the VHL and the VHLM. The season started a couple of days ago and we can already see the pace of the season. In this chapter we will take a tour of the performances of the beginning of the season.

Before the beginning of the season, Prague did a couple of trades to improve the team now and in the future. First, the Phantoms traded their star defencemen Battre Sandstrom to Riga in exchange of their first round pick from the upcoming draft. Second, Prague went to get Darth Kaprizov from the HC Davos Dynamo in exchange of the prospect, Hayden Rain and the second round pick from S83 and the third round from S84. Kaprizov is doing pretty good currently with the Phantoms as he got a total of eight goals and as much assists in 16 games.

Unlike Darth Kaprizov, the Prague Phantoms are not doing really well. Indeed, Prague are 12th out of 16 teams, with a record of 4 wins, 5 losses and one overtime losse for a total of 9 points in 10 games. In addition, the Phantoms are second to last in their conference just in front of Warsaw.

« We really need to do better as a team, I mean the plan at the beginning of the season was to make the playoffs and win the Cup, but if we continue to play like that, we won’t even be close to make the playoffs » said Baby Bob after the last game of the Phantoms.

Prague are aweful, but I think that Bob is not really helping. In fact, in 10 games Baby only got 5 goals and 7 assists for a total of 12 points. Also, Prague’s forward has a differential of –3 just like the whole team. At the beginning of the season, Baby Bob told us a little bit about his individual objectives for the season and after winning the Cup, the most important one was to reach 100 points this season.

« I know that the team is not doing great, but I need to improve my individual performances first if I want the team to make the playoffs. Offensively, even if I think that I can do a lot better, I believe that I am doing good enough, but defensively, this is where I am doing very very awful. I am a –3 and it is inacceptable. I need to do better and I am really looking forward to do what I did last season. I don’t believe in bad second season, so I don’t have excuses ».

Thanks for reading and see you next week for more of the life story of Baby Bob.

Gucci Makes Immediate Impact For Phantoms

PRAGUE - Free agent signing Its Gucci @frescoelmo wasted no time endearing himself on home ice, scoring the Prague Phantoms' first goal of the season on the power play just over two minutes into the game and added two assists to power Prague over the Malmo Nighthawks 4-2 in their season opener.

Darth Kaprizov @Darth Kaprizov, acquired through a trade with the HC Davos Dynamo over the off-season, also had a strong debut with his new club, scoring a goal and an assist. Despite getting a goal and an assist from Brendan Telker @Telkster, Malmo was unable to fluster goaltender David Davis @Josh, who stopped 31 of 33 shots to backstop Prague to the win. The Phantoms' early success had Malmo playing from behind virtually the entire game, with Davis and his defense able to shut the door and preserve the lead.

Despite Malmo putting the pressure on in the third period, Kaprizov beat Artem Tretiak @Molholt with just over a minute to play, essentially icing the game for Prague and providing the final score of 4-2. After a tumultuous off-season, getting a big win over a conference rival on opening night is a great sign for the Phantoms' potential as they travel to Malmo for a rematch with the Nighthawks.

Welcome one and all to the season 78 VHL re-draft! This draft featured it’s fair share of players who exceeded all expectations and those who fell very short; we have some players that would go in the first round today that were drafted as late as 34th overall. While you’re here feel free to check out some of the other VSN articles below.

With the original pick now being inactive it’s hard for Calgary not to improve with this selection no matter who they select. Given their current roster and Markinson being the best player from the draft class by a wide margin this selection seems ideal for Calgary. Currently Markinson took a huge step forward and became the fourth highest scoring defensemen and will look to pick up some hardware this offseason during the VHL awards.

Tui Sova has continued to show their skill and has been a great acquisition for Los Angeles this past offseason. Sova looks to be a franchise defensemen for any team they play for in the foreseeable future. Additionally, Sova took a big step forward in every statistical category. With Markinson going first overall in the redraft, Sova becomes the best available defensemen and would fall in the second spot.

Following a trade in the season 80/81 offseason Johnston found themselves on a Helsinki team that is on the up and up. This past season Johnston finished second in goal scoring with 63 and 9th for points with 125, good enough for the highest goal scoring single season out of the draft class. Given their rate of improvement and ceiling Johnston going 3rd overall seems about the right spot for them.

The Seabasstard has had a very good career so far for Moscow and has improved consistently throughout his career. So far The Seabasstard has been the highest scoring player in this draft. With the original pick being Tessier, Davos still would select their franchise center with this pick.

Since being drafted in this spot Reikkinen did exactly what he was supposed to do for London prior to walking in free agency to sign with Prague. Reikkinen looks to be a solid defensemen and is without a doubt deserving of going 5th in the redraft, they have continued to improve every season and were a good number 2 defensemen in Prague this past season.

Miklavz is probably the single biggest steal in this draft and even with Milk Jugs going inactive, it’s safe to say Riga won this draft with Miklavz and Reinhart. Since being drafted Miklavz has proven to be a consistent point scorer for Riga in the past 3 seasons and looks to be an ideal centerpiece for at least next season as well having already signed. With the original pick Vancouver was looking to draft their goalie of the future, however with no top end goalie being available it’s likely that they would take the best player available in Miklavz.

In the season 78 draft Prague went to draft their future franchise defensemen and they nailed it with Powers. Powers has been a solid option for Prague the past 3 seasons and continues to improve scoring at above a point per game pace this past season. The original selection made with this selection has paid off ten fold for Malmo prior to a trade to Los Angeles, Powers would accomplish the same role as Sova did for Malmo.

Coming off of a massive season 81 Tessier took a big step forward with a 66 point improvement which should have them in the conversation for most improved. With Calgary selecting Hard Markinson at first overall in this redraft, Tessier would fill the first line center spot on Calgary and really help out their offense.

David Tavau has improved steadily since their first season in the VHL where they recorded 13 points and were a -40, to this past season where they had 63 points and were a +1. A pass-first defensemen, Tavau has been an important part of Davos’s blueline for 4 seasons now and looks to be the perfect complimentary piece to Reylynn Reinhart on their first pair. With this pick Prague took the best defensemen available, and with Powers going earlier, Tavau slots in here.

When he was drafted Bogdan Trunov was expected to be a solid piece of Warsaw’s future with an offensive upside, since then they have surpassed all expectations and are just coming off of their first 100+ point season with 106 points and 51 goals. Trunov has a very bright future in Warsaw and will lead this team into the future. Looking back at the draft, Milk Jogs was selected to be a cornerstone defensemen for Riga and went IA shortly after the draft, retrospectively Trunov going to Riga would make a lot of sense given their current roster and the lack of active defensemen from this draft class.

Henri le Massif has had a solid VHL career so far which saw them improve each and every season and they have proved to be an important part of Los Angeles’s core forward group. A solid power forward, le Massif excels on the defensive side of the puck and will likely one day be in the Boulet conversation. Henri le Massif is one player any team would like to have and would slot in perfectly in Davos at pick number 11.

Darth Kaprizov has had the largest jump between original draft position and current draft ranking, currently sitting at 13th in the draft class. Similarly to Minion, Kaprizov spent 3 seasons post-draft developing to get to where they are today. Shortly after being drafted Kaprizov was traded from Calgary to Davos in a trade that saw Calgary attempt to improve for a playoff run. This past season Kaprizov fit in as a second line winger for Davos, where they recorded 60 points. With London Kaprizov would likely find themselves on the first line for the foreseeable future, and would be a key piece for London’s future.

Currently Nathaniel Minion looks to be the future top center in Malmo and is playing a key role in their current playoff run. After spending 3 seasons post-draft developing Minion made his VHL debut this season and lived up to the hype leading the rookie scoring race at times, falling off just at the end of the season. In this spot Minion would fill a similar role to Henri le Massif as well as serve as a depth center option.

Having played 2 seasons in the VHL now Nylen in season 79 and 81 due to spending season 80 in the VHLE where they were one of the top defensemen in the league with 95 points in 72 games for Bratislava. The one season break from the VHL served Nylen well as we saw their point production jump from 7 in season 79 with D.C. to 61 this past season with Toronto. As for this pick Nylen would have filled the exact same role as Slyvester as a stable part of Warsaw’s blueline.

One of the biggest jumps between original draft position and current projection, Riga hit gold when they drafted Reinhart 32nd overall. This past season Reinhart came very close to taking home the Clegane Trophy for the lowest GAA in the VHL. Reinhart has stepped up and fulfilled the need that he was drafted to address, and he would do the same here, just Riga would have needed to draft Reinhart 17 picks earlier.

Coming off of a season where Numminen should be in the top rookie conversation, Numminen has cemented themselves as a key player in Toronto’s core. Since the draft Numminen has been consistently climbing the draft rankings and currently sits 17th in the draft class. Looking back at the season 78 draft Numminen would have fit well in Helsinki as a center of the future as the team had just been coming off of a Continental Cup Finals loss with a majority of their core either retired or retiring the following season.

Well there's lots of creativity in this one haha. The hockey stick lightsabers really make this, but I do believe they will be ineffective against an actual lightsaber unless its an old Sherwood stick. It's cool how you added the glow by just laying the stick on top of the white part of the saber, so now the stick glows. Fun and hopefully intentional creativity. Of course, you have the logo add-ons to give the VHL theme and a player face render to top it all off. Great Job!
