    Random Ramble about passing 100 TPE and World Cup

    It has been a while now since i first joined the league and honestly i have been having a blast. I have just past the 100 TPE freshold and i'm hoping to just keep getting better and potentially become one of the greats in the future! I have been making sure to do podcasts weekly as i find them very easy to do and super fun honestly. This will be the first week i have decided to take a rest from them. This is due to the fact i have sort of hurt my voice by doing one nearly every other day for here and the PBE.
     

    Well, what else do i want to say... I guess that we had a good World Cup run as team Worlds but it was a crying shame that we did not manage to win in the end. We tried out best and had a great round robin coming 2nd out of all the teams. We just couldn't get it together when it mattered. I am not disappointed in any of my players as they tried really hard! It was a fun first experience to coaching here and i know with the right stuff and lack of being ill for the last week i would have payed more attention to it! I hope in the future i can do it again as i have always loved IIHF and it's something i want to be a part of myself someday as a player.

    When i was 13 i was first appointed captain of my local ice hockey under 15s team. I was the youngest on the side by i had been classed as a good leader on the ice who wasn't scared to shout and get stuck in. I remember this being the season i swapped from being a forward to a defender too and i just massively increased.

    I also got to meet Ron Shudra at this age and it helped me decided who i wanted to aim my game after!

    The VHLM draft is coming tomorrow and i thought i should make it easier for those general managers who haven't scouted me.

     

    First lets start with the pros.

     

    One of my main stregnths in this league is that even thought i'm a new player to this league it isn't my first rodeo in a simulation league. I have had tenure in other simulation leagues where i've been a max earner or basically doing everything that is free. I plan to do this in the VHL too. I already have myself a job here as an Assitant general manager for the Vancouver Wolves in the VHL. I am currently earning 12.0 TPE per week plus my training for an extra two tpe. You're guarenteed to get this earning weekly as i'm not going anywhere.

     

    The next pro is tied to the one from before which is that i am already well versed in this leagues sim engine so i can help with things such as creating my own player and helping others with theirs if they do not understand the engine so much. I think that i can bring a lot of help to those who need this kind of help.

     

    Next i would say that i am an active member of a locker room for the short time i have been here. I love talking a lot in simulation leagues. It's the one reason i have stayed in them for as long as i have. I go for an active locker room over winning any day and that is something i always think is important for a minor league team. I have ran a successful minor league team in the PBE called the Dallas Dynamos with this exact philosophy.

     

    Finally, i would bring in a different kind of person to the locker room. I am from the UK and as a result you might think how are they going to be up when we are all active in the locker room because we are mostly made up of american players for example. I tend to be up at random points really sleeping in two chunks of four hour blocks so i give the illusion that i'm always online. I will usually have a different taste in stuff like music i've noticed too so if you're wanting to discover new music then that is something i am happy to help people discover. I think that i bring a overall different user than what if found in simulation sports leagues.


    Now let's get to the cons.

     

    First of all one of my pros is also a con. I'm different when it comes to things like where i am from and as a result i do tend to not understand some conversations that are had due to the cultural references just not being there for me. I always try my best to engage in these situations but i can come of confused.

     

    Another con of mine is that i try and get involved a bit too much sometime to the detriment to myself. I'll try and take as many jobs as i can possibly take and such like that. The reason why this is a con will become apparent later. However, you can ask anyone i have worked with in any other league i give 110% and if i think something is too much i'd eventually step down realising i'm in too far.

     

    Now, i have wondered if to mention this or even if to put this in a con as realistically it's just me and i try my best to stop it. However, i think it's something i need to mention and this might be the best place to mention it i guess. I suffer from Bi-polar disorder so i have things associated with that. I can become dperessed and a downer in the locker room at times. I do however try and keep off discord if that happens.

    AGM Question time!

    1) What is your players number? Why did you choose that number?

     

    2) You're player has to leave ice hockey for some reason to play another sport. What Sport do you leave too and why?
     

    3) What meal does your player have to celebrate?

    4) Who's the biggest clown in the locker room?

    5) Who takes charge of the playlist in your locker room? What do they play?

    6) VHL 73 is about to come out and who's on the cover? Does this cause them to have the curse?

     

    7) You're making a fantasy team. Who's on it? 3 forwards, 2 Defenders and a goalie go!

    Welfare / Pension (13 - 19 July)

    Post in this thread to claim welfare/pension for this week. 

    If you are claiming welfare/pension, you cannot claim any 6 TPE Point Tasks for this week (Media Spot/Graphic/Podcast) or League jobs paying 6+ TPE.

      

    • VHL Welfare Plan - Members with fewer than two 700+ TPE players may claim 4 TPE
    • VHL Pension Plan - Members who have created two or more 700+ TPE players (past or present) may claim 5 TPE
    • VHL Affiliate Plan - Members who post a Point Task this week, in either the EFL or SBA, may link to that Point Task to claim 6 TPE


    Once you reach 700 TPE with your current player, if that is your second player to reach 700, you are allowed to claim the pension plan. So instead of only taking in account previous players it also accounts for your current one. 

     

    Example: 

    Green has had Remy LeBeau (TPE: 1301) in the past. Thomas O'Malley, his second player, is now past 700 TPE, he is eligible for the VHL Pension Plan.

     

    Note: Welfare/Pension Plan are not eligible for Doubles Weeks. Affiliate Plan is only eligible for Donation Doubles.

Figured might as well share the love for all members and remind everyone here about a great league and opportunity we have with the PBE. For the minor league system, we're 60 games through the regular season.
