I wanted to come on here and talk about my experience in my first week with the VHL and joining in the off-season. 
 
First of all, there's a lot of stuff going on at this time that I don't understand regarding drafts, signings, and trades. Really, I don't need to understand them, but with the GMs preoccupied with that, I was more or less left to navigate the forums and portal alone (a pretty daunting task). While I did join the Discord eventually and was met with a warm reception and offers to answer questions I might have, I decided I was already in it and fully immersed myself in figuring this thing out. I'm happy to say that after a week, it really is pretty organized and if you read a couple of guides, also easy to navigate. 
 
Following a guide by @Hogan I was able to really sink my teeth into how to earn TPE and am proud to say that, with this article, I should be at 19 TPE this week (both capped and uncapped, I learned that too). As the weeks go by that should become even easier to navigate and hopefully be a piece of cake. 
 
As for the members of the VHL, everyone that I've talked to so far has been wonderful. They have been happy to answer any questions that I've had and guide me to make sure I'm as successful as I want to be.
 
Overall, this place is great! The whole thing has been a brand-new experience for me and I'm looking to keep it going. Thank you everyone for the warm reception. Now let's bring on season 93!

Hello everyone,
 
I guess it's been awhile. A lot of you may not know me, but I was a very active member from late 2019 until late 2021, when I had to step back and prioritize my personal life and studying. Since I have returned, I have been wondering what to do as far as content, as I really enjoy the scouting aspect of the VHL and I hope to get back to making content surrounding it. 
 
I am thinking about maybe bringing back my draft profiles series that I did from S70 to S72, except with some tweaks to make it fresh and new. That series is what first gave me a sense of purpose in the VHL community, and it seemed that people really enjoyed them. Looking ahead, I would definitely be open to bringing back the draft profiles.
 
Another possibility is some in-depth coverage for the VHLM, looking at individual teams and the prospects they have that could become VHL stars. For example, I could look at the Miami Marauders, look at the TPE earning of their players, as well as their leading scorers, and then maybe interview a player or GM/AGM to ask about the future of certain players and the team as a whole.
 
Other than those two ideas, I'm still trying to think of other possibilities, and I am 100% open to any suggestions. Hopefully I'll get back to draft-related content soon, and hopefully you guys will tune in thanks for listening to my ramble.

VHL Recruitment "Update" S93 Off-season
 
Hello. I hope you're all doing great. I/we in the recruitment team are going to try and make this somewhat of a regular thing. I really enjoyed when @Advantage would do it for the Board of Governors and figured with how important recruitment is, transparency can serve the community well. This is the second update for recruitment since I joined the team and my first as Recruitment Head. I appreciate the Blues giving me a shot in the role and hope I can bring some positivity/solid results with the help of an exceptional team. Some things have been happening, so let's catch you up on things.
 
Recruitment Team is HIRING! With the stepping down of @Moon and @dlamb, I really believe we're bare bones in there right now. Might only be me and I could certainly use a strong team of amazing VHLers who have the same goal in mind of helping grow the league we all enjoy so much. If you have interest in becoming part of the Recruitment family, please head on over HERE and apply within. TIKTOK! This project has been my baby since it's inception and it's been a lot of fun. My plan was to mass follow as many NHL gaming and NHL fans as I possibly could in order ot grow our online following. However, I've since branched out into a bunch of different areas. I'm still searching for hockey fans, but I'm becoming more specific in my hunt. For example, I've been targeting specific countries hockey fan pages or teams, or special hockey groups. I've really gone hard on the international hockey stage (Australia, Czech, Russia, etc) to help grow our international community so that the league can be more enjoyable for members who aren't from North America. We've recently started to diversify our content we're posting and have a few more ideas in store too. At the time of writing this, we currently have 983 followers! Down the road, we will come up with something to engage with them, but right now it's all about growing our online following and presence.  Email to our fellow friends who have fallen to inactivity! I do remember discussions of this happening. With the recent shuffle of members within the team, I know we're going to wait on this. I can't remember the exact time frame that was discussed, but I'd imagine it would be coming in the somewhat near future. I think this move always has somewhat of a result on bringing members back! Sometimes we just need a reminder about this place and if we look around, quite a few of our older, forever members have come back!  
Special:
I will be making up a google doc in the coming future that we will be using to engage with our TikTok community. It is my opinion that maybe some people just don't join because their demographic might not really be present. We accept all kinds over here, even Australians @BOOM and @Berocka. I want to do everything possible to see if we can get fans of hockey, community, gaming, life or whatever attracts you, me and them to the VHL. It's great that when we log in during North American day time that there's lots of people online, but imagine if the activity and member base was improved when it was that way for our international VHL family as well. I think that would be super cool! So just be on the lookout and please be honest if and when filling out the information.

Excited for new hires to get more life in here!

After a surprise third consecutive run to the S92 Conference Final where they lost in five games to the eventual Continental Cup champion, D.C. Dragons, the Toronto Legion have lost no time resigning their core players to gear up for another shot at a Cup. The window is narrowing as star goalie Joel Castle is in the twilight of his career. One of five players needing a new contract, Castle signed tonight for two more seasons and, barring a trade, finish his whole career as a Legion.
 
“This was a no-brainer,” said Castle in an impromptu Zoom conference right after the signing. “Everyone on this team is on the same page. We know what our goal is, we believe in our group and we feel with our talent and experience, we should have one if not two more good chances before my career is done. And I want to get another Cup more than anyone. I want to relive S91 again. That was magical.”
 
In order to reach that goal, Toronto will have to compete against a still strong contingent of North American teams.

I agree with AJ's article, though I do want it to be known that none of us get as far as we did without AJ being an incredible GM.  If not for him being so welcoming and supportive early on, building up the locker room, giving us tips, tpe earning advice, encouragement to keep going, etc... I don't know if we would have all made it past the learning phase which can be a bit intimidating.  So yeah... more ads in the future for sure, but we need good VHLM GMs like AJ (not saying the others aren't good, just don't know them as well).  Thanks for everything this past season, AJ!
