Banackock 8,044
Nice day of fishing. Nice day of winning. Moscow - You’re a great team. You’ve been for a few seasons now. Your regular season was incredible and this series you showed your dominance. Epic power. Epic series. Well done! Seattle - I owe it once again to you all. A new group. A group of random people with random backgrounds that came together to create a Seattle Bears family. Your loyalty and devotion to the team and your own players is what got us to where we are. Thank you. WE ARE CHAMPIONS AGAIN. OrbitingDeath 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/122172-continental-cup-finals-game-7/#findComment-930671 Share on other sites

Ledge 1,131
Well I got a trivia wrong so here I go doing a Game Recap! In the first period, Seattle is largely controlling the play. The shots are 19-9 in favour of them. But somehow the Menace sneak by and pot two goals in the last 3 minutes, from Wattson Power and George Sanderson, sending Seattle into a frenzy. But a pair of unfortunately untimely penalties on Jan Hlozek gave the Bears the push they needed, and Zeedayno Chara and Sigard Petrenko both netted goals on the man advantage. As the third period wound down, with the score tied at two, everyone was hunkering down and preparing for a long, grueling, Game 7 overtime period(s). That's when this chain of events happened. Hulk Hogan 2 intercepts a pass in his own zone, and moves it up to Petrenko, who gets knocked off the puck, but Vinny Detroit is there to grab it and continue the rush up ice. It goes back to Hogan, across to Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems, and back to Detroit, who streaks across the Moscow blueline. He takes it around the net before initiating some more passing between the Bears. Eventually, Hogan feeds it to Petrenko, who speeds and then stalls up the wall before putting a hard pass on the tape of Detroit at the top of the other circle. He winds up and puts it right over the glove of Papa Emeritus. Although the game did not end right then and there, the Bears played shutdown defense for the last two minutes, and captured like their 169th Continental Cup. Spart what's going on man it's like 3 times in a row now animal74 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/122172-continental-cup-finals-game-7/#findComment-930716 Share on other sites
dogwoodmaple 380
What a game! This was a classic Game 7 that was decides by the smallest of margins. Early on in the first period, the game was neck and neck and neither team was able to separate from the other. But as the first period clock started to wind down, Moscow kicked it into gear and was able to light the siren thanks to a goal from Wattson Power. That goal clearly gave them some confidence as George Sanderson found the back of the net less than a minute later to give the Menace a 2-0 lead in the first period. But just as Moscow was riding high, Seattle came out with their hair on fire in the second period. Less than one minute after intermission, Zeedayno Chara scored on the powerplay to cut the Seattle deficit in half. And speaking of powerplay, Seattle once again took advantage just a few minutes later thanks to Sigard Petrenko. Petrenko's wrister tied the game at 2-2 as Moscow's momentum shifted completely to Seattle. The third period would decide the game and for the first 18-plus minutes, there were barely any chances. Both teams went back and forth, but neither was able to score the presumptive game-winner. That was until Vinny Detroit lined up a slapshot from the left side and scored for Seattle with less than two minutes left in the game. Despite a feverish finish from Moscow where they threw everything at the Bears in the final minute looking for an equalizer, it was all for naught. Seattle was able to kill the last few moments off the clock as they clinched the Continental Cup. Hell of a game all around. Spartan 4,402
Bit overdue, but you'll have to forgive me. It gets harder after each one to accept it. Congrats to Seattle for their victory, was a great series to follow and a fun chess battle behind the scenes. Some really great people in the organization who deserved to win a championship, and I'm very happy to see them reach that goal. Best of luck for your future. Despite the result, I am immensely proud of Moscow and everyone on the team. It takes a special level of dedication to plow through all the shit we've had to endure and adapt to over the past four seasons, and the group stuck together and had faith. Reaching four finals in a row is a very difficult feat, especially across two significant eras in our leagues history. Even when the entire league changed stylistically, and when we lost the leagues top goal and assist leader, we still ended up as the top team in the regular season - in one of the most tightly contested conferences in history. We'll be back soon. MetalToday 266
This was a close series all together, with the series tied 3-3, who will be most ready for the cup? Moscow came out hot with 2 goals late in the first period, scored by Wattson Power, and George Sanderson respectively. The second period showed Seattle was ready to play though, as they came back with a quick goal by Zeedayno Chara, and later Sigard Petrenko also scored to make the score 2-2 after 2 periods. In the third period there wasn’t much that happened, however, that was up until the clock was just under 2 minutes, where Vinny Detroit scored a beautiful goal for Seattle, strengthening the Bears possibility of winning the cup, and as the clock wined down, the hope would become a reality for the Seattle Bears as they won the S83 Victory Cup! xNJDevilsFanx 109
Game Recap 75: Moscow Menace vs Seattle Bears The lights can shine on the biggest stage, but Game 7 brings a different feeling. It's not about performing well, it's about winning. These two franchises have historic wins in the past, which makes this match up exhilarating. Goals from Wattson Power and George Sanderson. The provider was Duncan Idaho, one of the best forwards in the VHL. But, that lead wouldn't last long. In the second period, the Bears would strike twice. Goals from Zeedanyo Chara and Sigard Petrenko stunned the whole of Moscow. Now, they were forced to respond in a do or die situation. But, the spotlight was too bright for Moscow to endure. A winning goal from Vinny Detroit sealed the comeback and the VHL cup champions (The Seattle Bears). Congratulations to them on a well deserved season!
