My Rookie Season
This rookie season has been interesting, being a late first round pick I was inserted into an extremely well run organization with plenty of great players. While it has been great to be able to go directly to the VHL it has been a challenge since it was not like I was a superstar on the VHLm level. In the VHLm I would barely score and my impact on the ice was practically even on one of the better teams in the league. Scoring early in my rookie season has been amazing as my confidence has exceeded the levels of which I had in the VHLm. While I am currently scoring at a rate of one point every five games, I would consider that as a major success compared to the level I was at in the VHLm. My expectations are somewhat exceeded by my current performance! What I am really looking forward to is my development throughout the rest of the season. I wholly expect to grow even more this season than the current point that I am at.
While my expectations were lower in the beginning of the year, I could see towards the end of the year that I could be pushing the pace of potentially registering a point every three games that I play in. My current output came in bunches -- and I was able to be named as the first star of a game. Currently I am a plus 6 and I was higher than that earlier on, I expect other teams to catch up to us and make it harder for the guys on the final few lines. Although this has been fairly optimistic, I am pessimistic regarding how many of my goals could potentially be hit. Although I do expect to be generating more chances, I know it will be truly difficult to see a significant raise in my output given my smaller sample size due to playing time. In addition, I am playing out of position and rarely taking face-offs which means my positioning has been off nearly all year. While I would have loved to have been playing my main position, potentially playing on the wing the first season or two can help me focus on developing rather than dealing with the main offensive threats of the other teams' day in and day out. As a whole, this rookie year has been interesting thus far and I am intrigued to see my growth in the future!

Vancouver Wolves Press Conference
Week Ending February 7th 2021
Answer 3 for 1 TPE or 6 for 2 TPE!
It's everyone's fav time, press conference time!! So Lets get things kicked off with some easy TPE and laughs. Just going to tell you all again how much I enjoy seeing your creative and wacky answers. Thanks for being the best team a girl could ask to be on Without any further fluff, here are your questions:
1.) What is your Fav version of our Jersey? Home, Away, a holiday or Charity one? Describe it and why you love it.
Home jersey, there's nothing better than wearing the threads synonymous with us at home.
2.) You discover a beautiful island upon which you may build your own society. You make the rules. What is the first rule you put into place?
Unlimited sushi
3.) You have been given the opportunity to create the half-hour TV show of your own design. What is it called and what’s the premise?
I just give the keys to Tim Robinson and let him do the rest
4.) Name the top five hockey related things to take with you during a zombie outbreak. (Think of things that you would have in your hockey bag, locker or at home)
Skates, compression pants, a cup, gloves, and sticks
5.) What are things that management can do that makes you feel supported as a player? (what is important to you?)
No complaints thus far!
6.) If the Vancouver Wolves was a Hogwarts house what house would we be and why?
Don't know, I have never watched!
7.) When fans see hockey players they often freak out, who is one of the people you would fan boy/ fan girl / fan person over? ( For example Venus Thightrap, is a huge comic book nerd so meeting someone like Robert Kanigher and Sheldon Moldoff who created Poision Ivy would mean a lot to her. Venus’ name is meant to be a nod to Ivy.)
Venus Thightrap, an absolute monster!
8.) When was the last time you screamed at the top of your lungs during a game? What were you yelling about?
A few days ago as a bet I placed hit!
9.) When you go home and relaxing is on your mind what room do you go to and what do you do in it to wind down? (Venus is totally into long luxurious bubble baths, it has been said she often turns into a prune while playing her fav Spotify mix as she soaks the stress away of everyday life)
I love to foam roll!
10.) Is there anything hanging in your Team Locker that motivates you?
A letter from my parents when they told me to keep following my dreams
11.) Do you have a pet? If so tell us about your fuzzy or perhaps not so fuzzy friend lol
I don't, but I wish I did!
12.) Which is one that show you cannot watch with anyone?
Game of Thrones... I used to be so into it but the final season ruined it for me...
13.) Give this Gif a hashtag :

Waiting On Myself
The start of the season was much better for myself than this difficult middle stretch. It seems to be that every stride I take is more and more difficult. The physicality of the VHL is one that cannot be described easily, and coming in as a generally feeble rookie I have to continue to train to even compete with these top athletes and the day to day is draining. Having registered only one point lately, it is quite apparent that the struggles exist. In addition, my plus/minus has plummeted and it is a cause for concern as to how I will continue to get ice time and not be a detriment. At the end of the day however, it is only my rookie year and I have plenty of more years to turn into the star that I can be in the VHL. It is imperative that I continue to push forward and train. Soon I will be the veteran who gives rookies nightmares and is the reason the season moves slow to them. Under guidance from Beavis' and the other presences in the locker room, I expect the best out of myself long-term and want to prove those who skipped over me in the draft wrong.

1.Coming to the start of week two of S76 season where we find the Wolves atop the VHL Overall standings after 12 games with a record of 9-2-1, what has been the key factor in the wolves hot start ?
Our star power, we're a really strong team.

Any salad place near me, I've gotten back into the best shape of my life and I've never felt better
3.Express your feelings about this season so far in two words?
Much Better
4.What has been the biggest moment for your in the first week of this VHL season?
Scoring my first goal!
5.)The Wolf Pups have been howling, with all @TMGSosa @Sixersfan594 3 Rookie Skaters including Rookie team leading Pts Defenceman @RomanesEuntDomus Robin Galante Nilsson, to the rookies who has helped you the most ? To the Vets who has impressed you the most and why ?
I'm so impressed by RGN, and always have been. Playing with him in Philly and now here has been tremendous.
6.)Following last question about the Pups we cant forget @Xflexz Markus Emerson Jr, already with 6 starts in the first 12 games, how many more starts will Emerson get?
I think 6 more haha
7.) What is the one piece of advice you would give to anyone drafted to The Vancouver Wolves
We're the best
8.)Who is the toughest opposing VHL player to cover?
Anyone, I'm just struggling to keep up.
9.)If you could see two VHL Heavyweights go at it who would they be?
Me and whoever is across the ice from me!
10.) What area of your game do you think needs the most work to improve your game as the season continues ?
Defense, I can't be a liability while out there. Scoring will come!
11.) What are your thoughts on the Covid-19 Vaccine
Gimmie it asap, I want to go out and feel safe.
12) How did your VHFL Draft go ? do you think you’ve got a real shot at winning that sweet 6 TPE ?

Been seeing how your work has been progressing since the SBA days... This sig is a little too dark, maybe work down the gradient. I love the lighting on the goalie to draw the eyes as well. The text placement looks bad, it seems like it's really just slapped there. 7.5/10
-
The most typical VR sig possible, love the splash effects around the render, and the text is extremely strong. You do an amazing job with the color scheme and the render is extremely HQ. I really cannot think of many critiques other than maybe how the background is a little simple? But even then the point of it is to draw your eye towards the render. Great work 10/10

Zolnek's First Week
Finally, my first week in the VHL has arrived after a relatively short wait due to the VHLm playoffs. Coming to the big leagues despite thinking I would spend another year in the minor leagues made things even more difficult. I wanted to spend another year in the VHLm but, sadly I guess, I trained too hard to stay there. Despite thinking I was ill-prepared for the VHL, it turns out that I am performing nearly as well in the VHL this year as I did last year in the VHLm (until the playoffs). When thinking about development, playing time and results are primary drivers towards activity and thus I was slightly skeptical of how I could keep things up, however given the competitive nature of the Wolves and how I am performing better than I had thought, I am actually very interested in nearly every game that occurs and love seeing my impact. With two points in 11 games I am doing better than last year where it took me nearly 30 games to register my first point. In addition, registering a +5 through 11 games has been extremely interesting and fun to be on the winning side of the puck. Hopefully the bounces keep going our way and the second week is as good as the first.

1.The VHL Draft has come and gone, were you watching the Draft livestream?
Yeah I was, I ended up staying tuned in longer than I wanted, but was happy with where I ended up.
2.) What skills have you been working on the most during the off season to improve going into S77?
Strength, you have to be tough and strong to hang in the big leagues.
3. The Vancouver Wolves went into the S76 Draft with 3 1st Round Picks, Ultimately at the end of the night the Wolves traded one pick and selected both Robin Galante Nilsson and Jivere Zolnek in the 1st round. Both have also been officially named to the S77 Wolves Roster, what is your opinion on these two users ?
Being one of them, I think I'm great -- and knowing RED from many places I am a huge fan.
4.The Wolves are welcoming rookie from the S75 Draft , from the Mexico Kings @TMGSosa Jacob Sosa. With Sosa and @Sixersfan594Zolnek both joining the pro roster were now at 8 forwards. What do you expect from these two rookie forwards ?
I expect us to be able to make an impact even as rookies. Depth is important and hopefully a differentiator.
5.)Wolves are also ECSTATIC to announce the official signing of our S74 prospect @MMFLEX Markus Emerson Jr Voted S76 VHLM Top Goaltender winning the Award "Benoit Devereux Trophy". How many Starts to you expect to see Emerson play ?
Hopefully enough to help him get his feet under him.
6.) Where do you see this years Wolves Squad ranking amongst the VHL, how far can this group go? With the star studded offense in Su @Da_BerrKevin King @IamMOOSEVenus Thightrap @BladeMaidenGregg Stallion @SweatyBeaver Norberg and Sandstrom @fonziGG@jpsd ALL SIX of these Forwards have 99 SC and are all 548 TPE+ players.... would you say this is a super team in this top 6 here ?
I think you could say that we're definitely in the mix!
7.)Last two Seasons we have been a VERY young team, this year however 9 of our 11 Skaters have VHL have been in the league for 3 seasons already (Other than Sophomore Stud @MasonGabe Akerstrom) what ways can this experience help the team achieve ultimate success?
Hopefully cohesion with each other and familiarity in the league would lead to results.
8.)Which player on any team are you most looking forward to playing against and why?
I am looking forward to playing against Phoenix Dawson, I go way bak with Toast.
9.) The Wolves lead the league in total team Goals Scored as a Team last season, is this a realistic expectation of repeating this stat ?
With all of our scoring it is definitely possible.
10.) Who has been the biggest motivator in the offseason in the LR?
Our GMs are definitely our source of energy
11.) What are your thoughts on Robin Galante Nilsson and Vancouver selecting him with their 1st selection?
He's a stud and I cannot wait to be a major part of the core with him.
12)Who do you believe is most likely on the verge of a massive breakout season and why?
Unsure, hopefully me

Ready For My Rookie Year
Well... this really somewhat came out of nowhere. I did no expect to be in the position to be called up to the VHL so soon, however since there was plenty of time to train I was deemed ineligible for the VHLm and could not experience the joy of not being a bottom line forward. I expect a similar role in my first season in the VHL, and truly expect it to be a difficult adjustment in the major leagues. My performance in the playoffs definitely indicated that my potential is there and that I can be an impact player, however without a full season sample size my confidence could falter without truly being a star at any level as a hockey player in this career. As a whole, I have to be reasonable and set attainable goals for my rookie year. I know I will not be seeing a ton of playing time, and I know I lack the talent to be a true impact player. I just have to stick my nose down, keep working and know that in a few seasons I will be as good in the VHL as I could have been in the VHLm this year.
