  1. I really love how subtle some of the work here is. The lighting is present but subtle. The render is clean and the clear focus. I think the border takes away slightly from the eyes of the viewer however it still is a nice effect and stays clean throughout. I would say that it's slightly distracting when over the render so I would maybe fix that up a little more next time. 9/10

  2. Uhh, gonna grade the first but really these two flow together. Definite effort here, I like how on the second one you can tell that it's more layered rather than a filter effect. I would say on the first one the render should be a little cleaner as it takes away from the eyes of the viewer there. Gonna say 7/10 as a whole for graphic work

Answer 3 for 1 TPE or 6 for 2 TPE!

    1. The season did not end up as planned as we fell short to the Chicago Phoenix in the second round. What's something you can takeaway from this season?
    2. What is your player's plans for the offseason?
    3. What is your favorite meal from Chick Fil A?
    4. Do you have any pets? If you don't what would you get and why?
    5. If you could play any other position in the VHL, what would it be? Why?
    6. What is one thing you would do if you were the GM of the Vancouver Wolves?
    7. What team do you like seeing lose? Why?
    8. What is your favorite Taylor Swift song and why is it all of them?

    1) We're not going to want to get swept again, this feeling is going to be sunk deeply in our mind for a long time

    2) Work, I need to get better to get more playing time

    3) Spicy chicken sandwich meal -- but add bacon on the sandwich

    4) I don't, but I really want a dog. I love dogs

    5) I would play goalie, I would love to stop other people from scoring

    6) I would immediately get rid of @Poptart

  4. Solid job, good job. Backdrop needs some work, it's not very complex apart from two logos being put onto it. The jersey change is nice but the render should be the focal point of the sig. I would personally re-arrange the size of it as well so it's an easier canvas to work with. Try using more stocks to be able to create a more diverse background. 5.5/10

    1. Heading into the Playoffs, the Wolves are currently 2nd in the North American Conference behind the Chicago Phoenix. What is one weakness that you can see that Chicago has to beat them?
    2. How did your player do this season? Are you happy with their performance?
    3. What is one job on the forum that you want to take on? Why?
    4. Who are you rooting for in the VHLM Playoffs? Why?
    5. STORY TIME! Our own Andrew Su is tied for the league lead in points with 121. What is the best story that you have with him?
    6. What is your goal for the offseason? What attributes are you looking to improve on?
    7. Who do you think is the most underrated player on the team? Why?
    8. We have a couple players retiring this offseason, Griff Manzer and Jimmy Spyro, both of which have played for Vancouver for their entire Career. Say something nice about them.
    9. Where is your favorite place to travel to in the offseason? Why?
    10. Are you watching WandaVision? If you are, what are your thoughts on the show so far? No Spoilers please.
    11. What is your favorite part of the VHL? Why?
    12. @PatrikLainerecently posted about VHL's Mental Health Initiative which is so important. What is one resource that you could share that may help someone?

    2. My player did fairly well for a rookie, I did not score much but I was practically a net neutral for my team and showed some great development

    3. I'm unsure, I could maybe want to go into team management in the near future somewhere.

    6. I want to get smarter, the league is so much faster that I need to be faster mentally too

    8. As a career Vanouver player, they've been tremendous warriors and have done a great job teaching me in my rookie year

    9. Whistler because it's so close and I love skiing!

    11. I love the ability to improve quite quickly but I also enjoy having a learning curve to overcome

  6. SHL had/started live simming for playoffs about 6-7 years ago when I simmed there. Doubt anyone would rig a full regular season that's just a shit ton of work to do over the course of many weeks and would be annoying to re-do over and over again. Also STHS is a shit engine with inconsistencies like crazy so patterns really don't mean much. Finally the simmers players do well because they actually put in work, know the engine and work their asses off so they will obviously build better players than 99.9% of every league.

  7. Damn another killer from you, I love the focus on the render. Some people when placing the render in a corner would struggle with keeping him as the focus but you do an amazing job. I love the fire effects around the text and in the bottom left corner. 10/10

Not too long ago I read a pretty amazing book called “THE ROOKIE” by Scott Sigler. It is part of a series called the Galactic Football League. In this Sci-Fi series humans have explored and expanded beyond the earth and there are many different alien species. When you add in some crazy medical technology you have the base for an interesting looks about what Football could look like under those circumstances. The Following questions will be inspired by my reading of this book, I hope you enjoy this little dose of Sci-Fi.

    1. Would you ever get a cybernetic body part to improve your performance out on the ice?

Yes, 100%. I would get stronger legs

    2. Do you think there would be more or less issues between humans if we discovered aliens?

If it's a common enemy yes, if they're friendly then no

    3. Do you think the VHL would let non humanoid life forms grace its hockey arenas?

    Yes, gotta get the $$$

    4. Would you ever throw a game for money?

    Not at all... maybe

    5. Do you think we take enough pride in representing our teams here in the VHL?

Unsure, I'm too new to this to know pride yet

    6. Do you think Hockey would be cooler in space?

Yes, imagine a puck with zero gravity!

    7. What is one thing you would change about hockey to make it an Intergalactic sport?

Put a lower ceiling so the puck doesn't fly away

    8. Fill in this blank: I do it for the ____________? (Money, fame, Glory, to see the tears of my enemies?)

    Championships

    9. What is the one Ace up your sleeve you always save when your team needs a miracle?

    My cooking

    10. Are you happy with the type of player you are becoming?

Unsure, I am yet to see a really good ROI yet lol

    11. Can insanity bring about more creativity?

Yes, that is the best way of creativity

    12. If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?

    I failed twice lol

    13. At what point are we good enough?

    Never, you can always improve

  9. Love it! The graphic definitely is a little meme worthy given Laine's face. I really like the idea of how the render is blended in however to me the contrast is too large between the render and the background. In addition, it's a slight tweak that I would personally make would be to lower the render slightly as his head tends to stick out too much as it's very noticeable how much is missing. 9/10!

  10. Oh baby, this is a typical IR sig with the background however the color scheme is truly elite. I really enjoy the gradience on the sig and how it's not exactly "smooth." While the text is rarely readable... who cares? This sig looks amazing and it's the artistic part of it that sticks out. 9.5/10

  11. Jivere Zolnek Takes A Vacation

It has been an extremely rough year for just about everyone -- but rookie Jivere Zolnek has had the compounding effect of a Covid world in addition to a rough rookie season where he was barely prepared for the long VHL seasons. Having played in 54 games, Zolnek has only recorded eight points -- a similar output to his defensively oriented output while in the VHLm. Having played in Philadelphia, he has been more adjusted to colder environments however Vancouver was on another level. With two weeks to vacation in the middle of the season, Jivere made sure to make the most of it. He created an extremely detailed plan on how to maximize his time. Knowing that he would have to return to the cold environment and perform right away, he wanted to return to the cold towards the end of his vacation. Thus, starting off his vacation he decided that he would want to go to the warmth and took a vacation to the beaches.

Trying to determine the best place to go on vacation was difficult in what I am imagining as a post-covid world. Knowing that he only had a modest amount of time, he wanted to make sure that he could maximize his time on the beach. Instead of taking a longer trip to Cabo or Florida, Zolnek decided to go to the beaches near Los Angeles to maximize his time in the sun. Finding the perfect mix between the heat as well as a great city. With plenty of night life, Zolnek truly made sure that his time was not wasted, but he was definitely wasted. Spending the majority of his rookie contract on buying drinks and tables, Zolnek would end up waking up extremely late nearly every afternoon and would find that he had to turn his morning workouts into late evening workouts in order to maximize his time in the sun. His time in the warmth was great, however given that he was a hockey player he could only spend so much time being baked by the heat. He needed to find his way back into the cold in order to prepare for the second half of the season in Vancouver.

Taking a private jet from LA to Whistler is something few could even dream of, not even just experience. Zolnek took his private jet from beautiful Los Angeles and started his skiing trip immediately. Having been on the ice often, Zolnek had amazing strength and legs however given his high stress lifestyle he barely afforded himself time to ski prior to this weekend. Struggling at first, Zolnek would struggle at first (as per usual with him) however as time went on he became extremely advanced and started hanging out with former X-games contestants while on the slopes. The vacation as a whole was needed, especially given how Covid just ended (in this scenario) and given the grueling nature of the season. Zolnek cannot wait to be able to take an actual vacation following the end of the season -- which hopefully will be pushed back due to a very long playoff run!
