League nearly died once but this was by far the worst 3 season stretch in VHL history.

@Molholt probably agrees, he can't say he's got the only 3-peat anymore. I guess there's at least a minor silver lining there.

Moscow officially peaking at literally the worst time we possibly could have.

Nah, he can still claim that.

Vancouver's lack of integrity by intentionally abusing a system known to break the engine -- something other GMs knew but didn't widely exploit -- will be a significant blight in this leagues' history.

"Spirit of competition" should have gone both ways!

TBH it has been exploited before. Maybe not as harshly or for as long but this isn't the first time.

true, malmo/chicago/warsaw s76+

S76, maybe you can argue Chicago was 'abusing' 40/99 with four, falling to three beyond 76.

But you went full blown abuse.

S80?

Seven 40/99 but essentially eight (40/98).

S81?

Six 40/99.

S82?

Five 40/99 but essentially six (48/99).

Chicago in 76? Three 40/99 with a close 40/97.
Malmo in 76? Zero, but one close at 50/99.
Warsaw in 76? Two 40/99, one close at 40/97.

Chicago in 77? Three.
Malmo in 77? Zero.
Warsaw in 77? Three.

Chicago in 78? Two.
Malmo in 78? One.
Warsaw in 78? Three.

Chicago in 79? One.
Malmo in 79? One.
Warsaw in 79? Two.

Oh yeah they totally abused it like you did.

Totally.

but meta isnt exactly 40/99, thats just the most meta lmao. meta is low passing, high scoring. all those teams knew about that concept and built their teams around it. I think a better count would be how many passers those teams had

I’ve been salty about meta since the moment I even heard the word “meta,” and learning the history of discovering it and then the implementation of it made me want to vomit.

HOWEVER

Fuck the haters indeed. Vancouver legally put together a team that rather dominantly put together the second threepeat in league history. In such a manner that it changed the league forever. I didn’t like one moment of it, but I think it should still be celebrated and appreciated all the same.

Congrats Vancouver, you did good.

GG Vancouver, and congrats on joining lofty company with your three-peat!

At the end of the day, Van did nothing wrong and everyone has to respect that; doesn't mean you have to like it but that's life haha.

For what its worth, I'm proud of the Moscow team that we put forth over the past few seasons here; its been a great ride and getting to the Continental Cup Finals three seasons in a row is no joke, no matter the outcome :)

Well played all, and may next season treat your builds kindly 😅
