Over 12 seasons on from announcing a VHL franchise would be coming to Moscow for the first time, GM Victor Alfredsson steps up the podium to thank all the players during his tenure....

Thank you to the OGs - not many expansion draftees made it particular far but Evgeni Komarov @Gooningitup was our 2nd captain, Paolo Nano @leafsman was our first great defenceman who sadly retired just before the cup, and Dan Baillie @wcats was and remains a Muscovite through and through and of course was there to lift the ultimate prize in S70.

Thank you to the captains - Komarov again, Mark Gebauer wherever you are, Jet Jaguar @gorlab, the franchise's first big hype man and the one that lifted the cup, Dean Clarke @Kyle, the ultimate steal who grew from dump-and-smash to one of our leaders, Nate Telker @Telkster, our other ultimate steal who became one of the best centers in the league, and Alex Letang @Spartan who has been my right-hand man in strategy and drafts for the past 3 or 4 seasons.

Thank you to all the individual stalwarts. I haven't counted it up, but I'm pretty confident that Moscow players won the most individual awards in the past 12 seasons. In addition to Jaguar, Raymond Bernard @Mr_Hatter became probably the best goalie of the generation here, Smitty @flyersfan1406 became the best defenceman in a generation, Roque Davis @Josh has taken a step towards becoming the same, Randoms @hedgehog337 became a two-way goal-scoring powerhouse, and Mikko Lahtinen @Beketov has swept home many awards for 3 seasons in a row.

And if I haven't mentioned you yet, don't worry, because I will now.

Mat Tocco @Matmenzinger your name is etched into VHL history as a cup winner and there won't be many forwards who outperform you in Moscow colours

Oskar Lagesson @fever95 unfortunately we couldn't get one last cup but you made the transition from S70 to now so much easier and are right up there with our best defencemen

Gritty @WentzKneeFan036 you and Smitty turned our fortunes around and the MOSCOW MOSCOW MOSCOW rallying cry may outlive us all

Vin Calia and Lucas Brandt @VinCal and @twists you may have not made it to the end but you were great sports when you were around. Same with Jorgon Weyed @Joubo from the previous generation.

@Will I think you're the only person who had 2 players pass through Moscow and you were here for the cup. My most loyal inactive servant x

Pietro Angellini and Cole Newhook @okifenoki and @GrittyIsKing09 - picking you two as late as I did in S72 is part of the reason I made it through 12 seasons and a big part of our continued success.

Ryo Yamazuki II @Donno100 we somehow had a patchy history because I barely missed out on Carison and then traded Yamazuki at no notice - hopefully no hard feelings though!

Fat palloon @UnkemptCL4PTP I think you story in Moscow is just starting to be written, I've greatly enjoyed watching you develop over the past few season

Killy Foilen @Aye my name jeff the unsung hero of S70 who also carried the discord LR with gorlab for many seasons

Remy Moreau @Da Trifecta it wasn't quite the Davos glory days but I'd like to think we got at least part of the way there.... thanks for your time

Aleelee Kiak @Grant I don't think you were the most active here but I was glad to see you got yourself a cup after leaving Moscow and then found a niche in Chicago - looking forward to your new player

Kris Rice, Jacob Tonn, Breeze Ladrian, Jay Jones, Ryan Schwarz @Ricer13 @MexicanCow123  @Kelsier @TTtheT @Enorama I may have only GMed you for one VHL season but what a season it was. Thanks for buying into the project and I'll see you around.

I just want to say thank you for everything you've done for me and for Moscow. You are the reason that I am still here today. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. I don't know how many times you can go into the hall of Fame but this run no doubt has earned you another spot. Cheers to all the hard work that you do/have done!

MOSCOW MOSCOW MOSCOW

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'll always appreciate you giving me a shot to be the number one goalie for Moscow. We took it slow to start, but it paid off big in Season 70. Despite some unfortunate postseason failures in seasons to follow, we were constantly competing (and I believe we made the playoffs in every season that I was a starter?). Couldn't have managed that without your leadership. Sad to see you go, but obviously I knew it had been coming for a little bit now. Much love Vic 🍻
