DMaximus 1,046
10th Annual Unofficial VHL Regular Season Awards – S75 Another exciting regular season has come to a close. That means we can dole out some regular season awards! Welcome everyone to the 10th Annual Unofficial VHL Regular Season Awards honoring S75! Thank you to everyone that reads this. I’m always looking for new award ideas. Please keep the award suggestions coming! These awards have been created by me. There is no voting process and they are not officially recognized by the VHL Board of Governors. I wrote descriptions for most of these award names in the original award post. Let’s get things underway! The Pylon Award (worst +/- rating) – Pistil Stamen @DMaximus Not really the best way to kick off these awards. Pistil went lone wolf on this one too. Normally we’ll see a bunch of players from the same team at the top of this list, for example Riga players occupy 5 out of the top 10 spots this season. Not the case for Stamen, the next closest Los Angeles Star was in 14th place. I won this award with a -35. Previous Pylon Award Winners: Season Player + / - S74 Jay Jones -38 S73 Balentine Kidd -74 S72 Jack Feriancek -59 S71 John Madden -43 S70 Bert Meyers -45 S69 Basaraba Moose -57 S68 Sven Hitz -58 S67 Piotr Jerwa and Nethila Dissanayake -34 S66 Bryce Zhields -49 The Gandhi Award (least penalty minutes, min 1,000 minutes played) – Jonas Stormsson @Kyle Normally there’s a tie and we need to use a tiebreaker of most minutes played. Not this season, Jonas won this one outright with 4 PIM in 1700 Minutes Played. Previous Gandhi Award Winners: Season Player PIM Minutes Played S74 Uhtred 2 2132 S73 Joseph Gainer 2 2106 S72 Jared Spaz 2 1106 S71 Soren Jensen 4 2016 S70 Denver Wolfe 2 1988 S69 Hugh Chan 4 2050 S68 Jack Lynch 0 1473 S67 Diljodh Starload 0 2091 S66 Beau Buefordsson 0 1939 The Major2 Award (most major penalties) - Gary Tarantino @Garrett Our first repeat champion of the night. Gary committed 12 major penalties this season, setting the award record and beating his previous best of 10 majors. Tarantino must have felt like his contributions in this category were enough to hang his hat on because he retired. I agree, you’re not going to get much better than claiming this award twice and setting the top mark so far. Good way to go out. Previous Major2 Award Winners: Season Player Major Penalties S74 Gary Tarantino 10 S73 Mickey Dickson 7 S72 Mikko Lahtinen 9 The Timex Award (received most hits) – John Merrick @Steve In the VHL you have to take your licks in order to perform. a_Ferk 766
I always look forward to these unofficial award articles. My personal favorite is the new shin pads award. I like the graphics showing previous winners and it's cool that you tagged the people involved so they can be apart of it. Best part of the article is how your own player got the pylon award haha. 10/10 article Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/97048-10th-annual-unofficial-vhl-regular-season-awards-%E2%80%93-s75/#findComment-810040 Share on other sites

youloser1337 1,106
Review: Oh wow. This is a beast of a media spot. The hard work that must have been put in to make. Personally, I hope I make a category next season if I make the VHL . The use of the tables makes it easy and clear to see past winners compared to the current winner. The small writeups for each award is fantastic too. No problems that I can see. Perfection. Keep up the great work! 10/10!
