10th Annual Unofficial VHL Regular Season Awards – S75

Another exciting regular season has come to a close. That means we can dole out some regular season awards! Welcome everyone to the 10th Annual Unofficial VHL Regular Season Awards honoring S75! Thank you to everyone that reads this. I’m always looking for new award ideas. Please keep the award suggestions coming!

These awards have been created by me. There is no voting process and they are not officially recognized by the VHL Board of Governors. I wrote descriptions for most of these award names in the original award post. Let’s get things underway!

The Pylon Award (worst +/- rating) – Pistil Stamen @DMaximus :la:

Not really the best way to kick off these awards. Pistil went lone wolf on this one too. Normally we’ll see a bunch of players from the same team at the top of this list, for example Riga players occupy 5 out of the top 10 spots this season. Not the case for Stamen, the next closest Los Angeles Star was in 14th place. I won this award with a -35.

The Gandhi Award (least penalty minutes, min 1,000 minutes played) – Jonas Stormsson @Kyle :cal:

Normally there’s a tie and we need to use a tiebreaker of most minutes played. Not this season, Jonas won this one outright with 4 PIM in 1700 Minutes Played.

The Major2 Award (most major penalties) - Gary Tarantino @Garrett :prg:

Our first repeat champion of the night. Gary committed 12 major penalties this season, setting the award record and beating his previous best of 10 majors. Tarantino must have felt like his contributions in this category were enough to hang his hat on because he retired. I agree, you’re not going to get much better than claiming this award twice and setting the top mark so far. Good way to go out.

Looking at my shooting percentage this is not remotely surprising haha

I always look forward to these unofficial award articles. My personal favorite is the new shin pads award. I like the graphics showing previous winners and it's cool that you tagged the people involved so they can be apart of it. Best part of the article is how your own player got the pylon award haha. 10/10 article

Review: Oh wow. This is a beast of a media spot. The hard work that must have been put in to make. Personally, I hope I make a category next season if I make the VHL 👀. The use of the tables makes it easy and clear to see past winners compared to the current winner. The small writeups for each award is fantastic too. No problems that I can see. Perfection. Keep up the great work! 10/10!

  • 2 weeks later...

Yes, always love reading these! Maybe one of these seasons I'll make it into the running for one of the awards.
