  1. I apply, i don't have facebook knowledge but i have run some pages on instagram, if i would be appointed to this i would start to use a lot of hashtags as they are the main way to gain followers that are interested in for example hockey, as i said earlier i have run some pages which i think was successful for the amount of followers in the days i had it, i do have a lot of time as there isn't much in school rn, the only time i'm not active is when i'm in school or at practice there might also be a time zone differential as im in GMT +1 and i have no idea on what timezone your in.

    Well I'm actually Nils 😏

But I'm glad you are happy with the article. I tried to find something positive about every player drafted and highlight them the best I could

Oh wait, that's true lmao, i need to get some glasses

  3. New-season new me
This is the last week the extended off-season will end, this is of course very exciting due to that
Gustislav Nasherov will finally get to play some games again, but this season he will be playing for a new team,
Mississauga Hounds, I got drafted here yesterday and got picked 3rd overall.
And this season we are looking good one of the reasons is of course that we had pick 3,4 and 5 in the VHLM draft.
Since this season is looking exciting I, of course, want to do the best I can, In the last 2 weeks I have earned a ton of tpe.
2 weeks ago I had about 170 tpa, after all of my updates this week I should have 206 tpa, how you may ask?
This off-season I have max capped once and planning to max cap this week also, and I'm planning to write my career point task which together grants me 10 tpa,
and lastly, the training camp which grants me 10 tpe, all together this should grant me 44 tpe in 2 weeks unless I cant count,
24 (media spots x2)+10 (training camp)+10 (career point task x2)=44

          Helsinki Titans draft recap.
    MXuqhUu.png

The first pick in the draft for any team is important and usually gives you an idea of how the team will look and what direction they will take in remining draft. It is a place to get the core future for you team years down the road. It is a place to secure your spot on the top with the best of the best. It is the place to fill a much-needed Roster spot. To the Titans it is a place to look forward and too the future of the Organization. With only four picks in the Season 77 Entry draft the Helsinki Titans had to be very selective and careful about who they brought to Finland. Let us find out the four players to be selected by the Titans

    griffin-reinhart-2019-7776.jpg
    9th Overall - Aurelian Moreau - Defense. (@Frank)
    gQq22Ta.png

a powerhouse on the Mississauga Hounds, Moreau was one of top Defensive prospects on the team. When the puck hits his stick, his eyes are always looking forward to see who he can pass it to. This has caused him to net himself 46 Assists and 60 overall points in Season 76. His locker room presence was one the younger players gravitated too, and he was the main locker room leader. It makes sense that Helsinki would draft him to replace the retired Erik Summers. The blueprint of what the Titans will be looking for on Defense.

    12th Overall - Gustislav Nasherov - Right Wing (@Vat)
    jUj2ojh.png

Right away on first glance there is nothing exciting about Nasherov. Until you watch film on him, and you see a seventeen-year-old Right Winger who does it all. Another Assist Heavy player with 14 on the season for 16 points, mind you he was on a stacked Mexico City Team. His eyes always looking forward and looking for the pass. A tool player that can fit anywhere on the ice and fills many boxes if you are a General Manager. At such a young age his Ceiling is so far away. The prospect of a player like Nasherov is exciting for what is to come a year or two down the line. Look for him to be tearing up the league and making a bid for the Hall of Fame when he finally Decides to hang up the Skates.

    36th Overall - Elvis Michael – Defense (@ATST)

    gQq22Ta.png

Yet another Defender drafted at 36th. Not one many would write home about, slipping under the radar of many of the teams. Except Helsinki knew what they had in Elvis, knew what they could make him, so they prayed he fell, and he did. Netting himself 18 points on a weaker Mississauga Hounds team where he was the #2 defender. After being traded 3 times in a week and switching positions Elvis finally hit his stride late into the season trying to help the hounds get into the playoffs. His drive to be the nest and wanting to be the best is why he was drafted. He is a team guy who will do anything he must to help his team win, even if it means being cut. The upside with Michael is he is still young enough to mold into whatever the titans need.

    56th Overall - Bryn Yrwy – Center (@dylanjj37)
    jUj2ojh.png

Finally we come to Yrwy.  A player that again many people wrote off, however the young Center netted 15 points on a strong Mexico team. A player that showed he can fit into any line and work well with the line. His greatest asset is his Defensive play. For a Center he shut down a lot of players. His keen mind helped him make smart plays putting himself in the right situation to help the team win. His hands are also another weapon that was intriguing to the Titans. Most of his points are assists again. Therefore, the Titans grabbed him in their final pick. Hoping he turns into a future Cornerstone of the team and a future champion. The Sky is the limit for Yrwy

    Grade: C

we caught up with General Manager Julian Borwinn to get his thoughts on the draft and all the players he picked up as well as the direction and future of the Helsinki Titans. “We went in with our short list and a goal to strengthen our defensive futures. Grabbing Moreau at 9 was the first steal of the evening. A pro ready defender whose agent has been around the community for an exceptionally long time and has a storied history. Next, we had our sights set on winger Gustislav Nasherov who we had been keeping a close eye on. Hall of fame potential at pick 12? Yes please. Following that we did not pick until 36 but our aim should we have had a 2nd was defender Elvis Michael, and by the grace of the hockey gods he fell to 36. At this point I was seriously on cloud 9. Another long-time player agent who joined the community back in season 3! Lastly in the 4th round we brought in center Bryn Yrwy who we see as a player who can rise like a phoenix and dawn the Titan crest soon.

The future of the Titans Organization looks bright. Adding four new and young players along side the core and veteran players. The excitement has already been felt in Helsinki as the prospects entered their future locker room to mingle with players and connected instantly. Making the Chemistry of the team one of a Championship Caliber squad already.

Between this and last draft I feel this one brought in more Core needs and overall was a better outing for the powder blues. Every one of the new draftees is excited to be on the team. Each one of the new players bring a skill that will only make them more dangerous as the years go on. Overall, I think I would give the Season 77 Draft for the Helsinki Titans a rating of B-.

10/10 first time being included in this type of media spot.  Also well written with all of the players as i think they should feel special (which i do), +points for putting Nils Höglander as me and that he was in a Rögle jersey

Hello and welcome back to the final part of this look back at the season 70 Minnesota Storm, in this final part we will be looking at the defensemen and the goalie of the championship team

    Defensemen:

    Alex Armstrong

    VHLM: Halifax 21st-Mexcio City Kings-Yukon Rush-Minnesota Storm

Starting off with the defensemen we have Alex Armstrong. Playing five seasons in the VHLM he first signed as a free agent with Halifax in season 67. He got into 23 games that season and put up 4 points, all assists and manged 24 penalty minutes and hits. In 11 games in the playoffs, he got 1 helper and had 25 hits. Forced into the draft he was picked 61st overall by the Mexcio City Kings in season 68, playing his first full season in the M he scored 45 points, 34 of them assists and 11 goals. Where he was the most helpful was in hits and shot blocks, dealing 153 hits and blocking 159 which would both end up being career highs for him. This season also saw him have the most penalty minutes of his career with 153. Post season one point in four games, the one point was a goal and he had 12 shot blocks. Traded to the Yukon Rush during the offeason Armstrong would continue to improve his game, 58 points, 48 assists and 10 goals. his penalty minutes, hits, and shots blocked would come down this season, being 62, 106, and 142 respectively. Armstrong would find himself in the post season once more playing again only four games and scoring one goal and assist, his shots blocked were repeated from last season.

Now onto season 70 Armstrong once again was traded, this time to the Minnesota Storm, his point total once again rose from last season, 24 goals, 55 assists for 79 points. Armstrong was very much a clutch player this season, scoring 7 gamer winners and 12 power play goals. His penalty minutes, hits, and shots blocked all dropped again, 31, 79, 95. This shows that he was be deployed less or in different situations, however none of that matters as ultimately the team would win it all in the post season. 14 games, 10 goals, 9 assists for 19 points. He had 2 game winners and five of his ten goals were on the power play. Despite all the success he would still not move up to the big leagues and would in fact rejoin a previous team. He would resign with the Yukon Rush and have his best season with the team. 127 points split by 83 assists and 44 goals, he got 151 hits nearly matching his career best and had 6 game winners and 20 power play goals. For a Fifth and final time Armstrong was in the playoffs, 15 games played, 9 goals, 20 assists not to mention 19 hits and 36 shots blocked. Despite that though the team would fall short and there would be no repeat for Alex. Alex Armstrong did win the Ryan Sullivan Trophy in season 71 with the Rush. Part way through the season Armstrong did announce his retirement from the league after seasons end. It's a shame but it's his choice. VHL wise the Moscow Menace drafted him in season 68th 45th overall but as you guess he never went up.

    Danny DeYeeto

    VHLM: Mississauga Hounds-Minnesota Storm-Saskatoon Wild

Oh boy I hope you guys are ready for a long one, DeYeeto played seven total seasons in the M, I think that's the most out of anyone I've covered so far, and five of those seasons are with the Minnesota Storm, I'll take a shot and say it was gonna be six season but was traded, more on that later. To start though DeYeeto would sign as a free agent with Mississauga Hounds in season 66. Probably the furthest I've had to go back in seasons as well. 51 games, 4 goals, 33 assists for 37 points, 110 hits and 64 shot blocks. That's a really good way to leave an impression in your first season no less! In the post season he 3 helpers and 26 hits. The draft came and DeYeeto would be chosen 8th overall in season 67. Spending the next two seasons with the Storm his totals are 24 goals, 113 assists, 137 points, 409 hits, and 172 shots blocked. There's no doubt that Danny DeYeeto is a superstar player, in the season 67 and 68 playoffs his numbers together were 20 games, 1 goal, 14 assists, 15 points, 39 hits and 17 shots blocked.

Close to halfway through season 69 Danny would be traded to the Saskatoon Wild to help with Minnesota's rebuild. Danny decided that season 69 was going to be his year by putting up insane totals, in 72 games played he put up 50 goals, 95 assists, 145 points, had a +/- of 117, had 321 shoots, 176 penalty minutes, 229 hits, 66 shots blocked, 9 game winners and 30 power play goals. I don't normally go through every stat but it was just an crazy year for the defensemen, some of those stats aren't career highs like hits and shots blocked but points wise none of his other seasons would come close. That post season he would continue with his insane play, 14 game, 5 goals, 16 assists for 21 points, a +/- of 24 and 48 hits with 23 shots blocked. His Trophy case was also quite full that season, walking away with Mitch Higgins Trophy, Ryan Sullivan Trophy, Ethan Osborne Trophy and of course the founder's cup. Despite all that though he would rejoin the team he knew best, the Minnesota Storm.

To try and keep this more brief I'll add of the three seasons together. 93 goals, 204 assists, 297 points, 733 hits, and 288 shots blocked. To look at his playoffs stats I'm gonna split season 70 from season 71 and 72. In S70 he would play another 14 post season games, 1 goal and 10 assists for 11 points, he would get his most amount of hits in the playoffs with 76, just a crazy amount and 16 shot blocks. For S71 and S72 he played 19 games, 7 goals, 5 assists for 12 points. A huge drop off despite both of his regular seasons for those years being good. 74 hits and 30 shots blocked. I don't normally do this but seeing as he played 7 seasons and post seasons I'm gonna share his career totals in the M. For the regular season totals: 483 games played, 171 goals, 445 assists, 616 points, 1451 hits, 590 shots blocked. For his post season numbers: 72 games played, 14 goals, 48 assists, 62 points, 263 hits, 94 shots blocked. If we could see all time VHLM player stats I would have think DeYeeto's quite up there.

    VHL: New York Americans-Warsaw Predators

That's right, we're still not done, DeYeeto would see the light of day in the VHL..... only for one season though. Drafted 39th overall in season 67 by the New York Americans he would never actually play for the team, instead it would be almost 7 years later when the new expansion team, the Warsaw predators would pick him up for their first season. From what I've seen there was no trade so I'm guessing free agent signing? Doesn't say under Danny DeYeeto's profile but anyway, in the full 72 game season, he scored 11 goals, 27 assists for 38 points, 163 hits and 170 shots blocked to back up his stats. While the scoring wasn't there his defensive game was still very good, however Warsaw wouldn't keep him and that would be the end for DeYeeto's time in the big leagues.

    Kai Smith

    VHLM: Halifax 21st-Ottawa Lynx-Minnesota Storm

Kai Smith was drafted 45th overall by the Minnesota Storm in season 69, but as with most players he play for a team before that draft. Playing 73 games, a result of being traded early on by the Halifax 21st, he would play most of season 68 for the Ottawa Lynx, 7 goals, 24 assists for 31 points. 133 hits and 88 shots blocked is where his game was truly at. With no playoffs he moves onto Minnesota in season 69, 10 goals, 37 assists for 47 points. 72 penalty minutes, 148 hits and 135 shots blocked, finally 3 game winners and 4 power play goals. Everything you read here is career highs for the guy as his play time would be greatly reduced in the following season, again no playoffs. Season 70 saw him net just 8 points, 7 of those assists. Hits and shots blocked were down to just 33 and 29. His minutes were down to 533 compared to the 2000 minutes Danny and Alex were playing. For the S70 playoffs Smith was a bench warmer, 1 minute played in 14 games, that's it. This lack of trust would bleed into the following season, 26 minutes played in season 71, just 2 hits and 1 shot blocked. S71 playoffs would be the same deal as last time, just 1 minute, so to make it clear in 20 playoffs games he played two minutes. Kai Smith was never drafted in the VHL and thus ends his career, but really it ended during season 70.

    Aldis Auzins

VHLM: San Diego Marlins-Minnesota Storm-Miami Marauders

Signing as free agent in season 69 Auzins played 54 games for the Marlins netting 10 goals, 24 helpers for 34 points, 133 hits and 74 shots blocked. In the playoffs 5 games played with 3 points, 1 of them a goal. He must have impressed other GM's enough and would catch the eye of either Rayzor or Hatter of the Minnesota Storm and he would be drafted 45th overall in season 70. However low play time would see not get much on that stat book, 5 points in season 70 and none in the following year. 27 shots blocked and just 15 shots blocked, 1 of which came from season 72. In the playoffs of both season 70 and 71 he would play a total of 20 games, would record no points just 7 hits and 5 shots blocked both in the S70 run. He would to Miami for season 72 and would get some actual play time, putting up 19 points, 13 of them on passing side and 6 in the net himself. 157 hits and 77 shots blocked show he was doing his job on the blue line, 7 games in the post season he would not help get anything in the net but would still deal 10 hits and block 4 shots. His career in the M and the VHL in general ended there. The Nighthawks drafted him 30th overall but he never developed far enough for him to move up.

    GOALIE

    Jaxx Hextall

    VHLM: Halifax 21st-Minnesota Storm

Finally we come to arguably the most well known Storm player, Jaxx Hextall. However like basically every other player he played for another team before the Storm. Signing as free agent about halfway through season 69, Hextall played 32 games with the 21st and has a record of 15-14-3 with 3 shutouts. A .864 save percentage and and 2.94 goals against average, these may not be the most flattering numbers but it's a good start for the rookie net minder. Making the playoffs in 11 games he put up a .879 save percentage and 3.74 goal against, one shutout, and a record of 5-5-1. Something worth noting is the fact he faced 365 shots in those 11 games, 21 more than what he would face in Minnesota in 14 games the next year.

Speaking of Minnesota the team would draft him 32nd overall, a steal in the draft thanks to confusion surrounding the goalie and if he was moving up to the big leagues or not, Rayzor capitalized on this and brought a fantastic goaltender onto a already great team, Hextall really was the cherry on top of a stacked roster. Playing every single game he got a record of 61-8-3, 10 shutouts, .899 save percentage and a 2.09 save percentage. It didn't stop there, 14 games played onto their way to the championship, 12-0-2 record, that's right, not a single lose in regulation. Other numbers are a .907 save percentage, 2.22 goals against average and 3 shutouts. Shouldn't be much surprised that Hextall skated away with the Benoit Devereux Trophy, Skylar Rift Trophy and of course the Founder's Cup. With such a successful season Hextall moved up to the big Leagues and said goodbye to the Minnesota Storm.

    VHL: HC Davos Dynamo-Toronto Legion

We all know Jaxx Hextall as a Toronto Legion but it can be easy to Forget he was drafted by Davos 9th overall in Season 70. He was traded not long after to Toronto as Peace had much faith in the young goal tender. Hextall has played six full seasons for the Canadian team and his numbers have been remarkably consistent, .915, .917, .917, .917, .920, and .919 save percentages. His goals against average has been anywhere between 2.86 to 3.19. 390 total games played and a record of 176-163-42 with 20 career shutouts. One more notable of his career his the amount of shots he's faced, 13,672 which is second on Toronto's all time list. Your all probably noticing a lack of playoffs and well..... that's because Hextall has only seen the post season twice, in season 72 and season 74. Starting off with season 72 He'd play 7 games and go 3-4-0 and end with a .900 save percentage, two seasons later he would go 12 games deep with a record of 7-4-1, a .925 save percentage and 2.53 goals against average, one shutout. While there's a lack of playoffs appearances Hextall's career is still arguably the most successful player that played with the S70 Minnesota Storm. With one season still left to go here's hoping for the best for Hextall and a deep playoff run.

And that's it, every single player who was on the championship team of the S70 Storm, it's sad to see most of them had a lack of success in the VHL and how many of them wouldn't even see the light of day there. One thing I've been paying attention to is how many of these players played for the Halifax 21st, 7 players would end up doing so. The Gutzwiler brothers, Liam Rooney, Ben Storm, Alex Armstrong, Kai Smith and Jaxx Hextall. All played with the beam before hand. @Rayzor_7 @Mr_Hatteryou guys seem to like getting players from Halifax XD Hope you enjoyed this final part of this look back at that championship team! As for the future we'll see what other teams I decide to take a look at.

    (word count 2464)

10/10 I really like the concept of going back to Founder's cup winners and look at where they are now, more teams should do this as well.  I also really like how detailed it is with several rows of text for each player

  6. Regular season
After I had created my player I got offered a contract by the know Yukon rush GM aka Juice
At the time he was the AGM of the Mexico city kings which he offered a contract to Mexico.
As it was my first time in this league I accepted it and got invited to the Mexico discord, I got a warm welcome and Juice helped me with everything from
what things were important like tpe, taught me how to acquire tpe, basically everything you need to be taught about here.

In the first couple of games I produced 0 points which wasn't surprising considering my low tpa count,
after about a week or two I started producing points for Mexico and that's when things got exciting.
we were on the top of the table on second to Houston, we stayed there basically the whole season until towards the end when Minnesota made their way to 2nd place.
It was a close battle for the 2nd place but in the end, Minnesota took 2nd place with us only 2 points behind them.
This was about the time I wanted to get into the league and become a "max capper" every time I could,
so I could do good for Mexico in the playoffs and also potentially get drafted in the first round.

                                                                                          games played    Goals  Assists   Points

                                                             Regular season:           62                 4          12          16

Games played   Goals   Assists    Regular season stats:         62          4       12      16
     Playoffs
I was super excited for the playoffs because it was my first playoffs and we were doing well,
and in the playoffs we were sweeping everybody, 2 series where we went 4-0, I was hyped, the locker room was hyped, everyone was hyped.
After 2 series of dominating our enemies, it was our time to shine, the founder's cup finals, Mexico vs Houston.
And this series was super exciting as Houston had arguably the best team in the VHLM and if anyone wanted to win the cup they would have to take down Houston.
And what an exciting series it was, we went back and forth, Mexico won then Houston won, it was very close until the last game.
By last game, I, of course, mean the most notorious and exciting game in all of hockey, Game 7.
Up until this point I was doing good and I along with the locker room was more than hyped, we were ready for the last game to unveil,
and when the live stream post was posted we were stoked, the game ended in our favor and we had won Mexico's first-ever founders cup.
I'd say I did pretty well in the playoffs.

                                                                                Games played   Goals   Assists   Points
                                                       Playoff stats:            15                  4           3            7

     Draft
Despite the draft taking place at 2 am in Sweden I still stayed up until that time to witness the draft.
This was my first time watching the draft and I was tired but still awake, I had gotten some draft interviews and a guy mock drafted me to pick #25.
It was a big surprise when I got drafted #12th overall, I got drafted to the Helsinki Titans which I now am a part of and I'm ready to take on the coming VHL season.

Just take it easy and rest so i can get 12 capped tpe later on and be active, and honestly getting acquainted with my new team

    2. Will you be tuning in to any of the major international hockey events (WC, WJC)? If so, which one?

    5. There have been a lot of GM changes in the VHL recently. Are you excited to see a lot of new faces get into management?

If he's coming back then i'm stoked and hope that he will do good.

  9. It has soon been 1 full week since the off-season began and not much has

happened in the off-season yet except for the draft (coming in form of a media spot).

I have not had anything to do this off-season and have just been taking it easy,

but now i don't have anything to do for some time, and honestly it's quite relaxing as i really can take a break and go 100% on school.

It will also be exciting to watch the WJHC unveil as that is the only form of games this off-season and of course i

cheer for the EU team as i am from Sweden and that's in europe, i also find it exciting that other continents are in it too

as i have never seen a team Asia or a team from Asia at all ever except from Kazakhstan,

and as it scheduled now the semis and finals will be played on my birthday which is pretty exciting.

Overall i look forward to the season start and how it goes for me and my new team, especially since it's my first time ever in the VHL.

WOW, what a season this has been, I cant believe I have already taken part in 62 games already, after starting my player mid-season I have become proud of my advancements, and I'm really happy being in this league due to all the friendly people I have met on a daily basis! So today I will go over my season and different things that have happened.

    REGULAR SEASON

After having created my player mid-season and getting a lot of help from @Juice with basically everything you can imagine, what to do, grabbing links, teaching me about tpe, literally anything you can imagine.

I have also met several new people and made some new friends, and been getting acquainted with people that I think are funny and that like to chat about dumb things til' the sun doesn't show us light anymore.

For my first ever regular season ever I think that I did well, to be honest, I got a total of 16 points, 4 goals, and 12 assists.

    fukcukcmjvhl.thumb.png.789a79301e98a80c352da00ede5c5310.png

I know this isn't the best "all-star" stats but I'm pretty proud of it myself for being the first time in the league ever.

This was also @Hylands last season as the GM of Mexico as he now has become the GM for Malmö, this meant that he was going all-in for the playoffs to make one last chance for him

and his squad to take home Mexico's first-ever founders cup.

If I had to summarise my first regular-season I would say that I'm happy with the results and I am also happy about how we placed in the regular season and also got to experience

what making a last playoff push is like.

    PLAYOFFS

Houston, they were stacked to the top in terms of player-wise, Houston has 16 available players and only 2 of them was under

235 tpe, this is insanely good as Mexico had 10 of 19 players under 235 tpe.

By reading this we can see how incredibly good Houston was player-wise and if anyone wanted the cup

they would have a very tough opponent waiting for them in the playoffs.

The playoffs started and the Mexico kings were ready to make a playoff push for their first-ever founder's cup,

and we were cruising, we swept every team in our way with 4-0 in the series every time, we felt unbeatable and no one could take a single win from us in 2 whole series,

While our playoff supremacy continued to rain down on our opponents the Bulls lost a game which meant that the Mexico city kings were officially on the top of the playoff leaderboard,

and the locker room was hyped to the maxed,

After going unbeaten in the playoffs it was time for our ultimate battle this playoffs and season, the founder's cup finals,

Mexico VS Houston. And what a battle it was there was no certified team who had the lead in the finals, it was back and forth, Mexico won a game then Houston won a game.

This went on until the most exciting and nerve-racking game in all of hockey, Game 7.

And what a game 7 it was, the final score was 6-4 to Mexico.

WE HAD DONE IT! The Mexico City Kings had won their first-ever founders cup + it was on Hylands last season here due to his GM job in Malmö.

The locker room was banging, we were so happy and the feeling was indescribable. Since this was Hylands last chance to get the cup as the GM of Mexico he was stoked.

    #FORHYLANDS

I think I did pretty well in the playoffs to be fair, I put up 7 points with 4 goals and 3 assists

    ewrtrfyuio.thumb.png.a01fb6743c0a7a2ffd71f1ae0f5fefb7.png

Again not any "superstar" stats but I'm still proud of the points I put up considering that this was my first season ever.

As we won the founder's cup I had already completed my first goal for my career, in my first season which is pretty insane for me.

The playoffs were amazing and I want to thank each and every person in Mexico for giving me the chance to tag along on this incredible journey

and I look forward to when I will meet them again, maybe we're on the same team, maybe we are enemies, either way, this is a season I will not forget about

as I am very thankful for being picked up by them on waivers and being met with such friendly people.

    THE DRAFT

As I got picked up on waivers by Mexico I am still undrafted thus I have about a 0.0001% chance of staying in Mexico because Mexico only has a 6th round pick in the s77 draft

+ a kind fella mocked drafted me to the 2nd round pick 25 which I think is good considering that I haven't even played a full season,

despite not playing a full season I have still got some draft interviews that have noticed me which I'm very happy about.

The draft next season will be very interesting to see how it plays out and who picks who and if I get drafted to see who is willing to choose me and my player.

Either way, I don't care about where I'm going to get drafted or how they are doing in the league I'd rather be drafted to a team that is active a lot and I can have conversations with and have fun with.

    SEASON SUMMARY

This is a season that I will never forget I've

    -Almost played a full season

    -made new friends

    -been in the playoffs

    -produced points in the playoffs

    -advanced to the playoff finals

-scored a goal in the playoff final

-Game 7 in the playoff finals

    -Won the founders cup

and I'm overall proud of my progression and the making of new friends, thus I'm looking forward to the next season I will play.

There's few things people like more than a bit of schadenfreude so laughing at the misery of some VHL franchises is bound to get someone's attention. As the VHL has grown exponentially in the past 10 or so seasons, it has obviously become more difficult to win the Continental Cup and even break through the glass ceiling of the conference finals if you happen to compete at a time of multiple contenders within your conference. Even with this caveat, some current VHL cup and finals droughts are setting new levels of mediocrity, giving even the infamous Vasteras a serious run for their money. So without further ado let's dive into some of the worst cup droughts of the present day.

    New York Americans

    1GrXoaL.png

23 seasons since last Continental Cup (S53)

16 seasons since last finals appearance (S60)

It's been a rough couple decades for fans in the Big Apple, even taking into account that this franchise already owns the probably untouchable record (don't try it LA) of a 7-season playoff drought from S5 to S11. The Americans thought they'd moved past those days (so bad that they warranted their own 20 in 20 article) as despite a 17-season cup drought from S15 to S31, they ended it in a run of 7 finals in 9 seasons and then the floodgates opened. With New York's championship in S53, they moved into a 3-way tie for 3rd with seven Continental Cups, and only two off the overall league lead. This newly-formed winning machine seemed unstoppable.

Except it did stop abruptly and now apparently irreversibly. GM Ryan Power, who orchestrated three of those seven cups across two stints, stepped down at the end of S55 and 3 GMs since have been unable to come close to Power or Chris Miller's (who won two of the other seven and set up the team for a third) success. Two of Power's successors went inactive on the job, while the descent of Esso into insanity has played out in front of our eyes. However good the Americans look on paper, this hasn't been reflected on the ice for over 20 seasons now and by missing the playoffs in S76, New York has moved into 3rd place in all-time cup droughts and 2nd place as far as their streak without a finals appearance is concerned. Vasteras' records of 31 and 20 seasons, respectively, are now increasingly within reach.

    HC Davos Dynamo

    tndGfVt.png

15 seasons since last Continental Cup and last finals appearance (S61)

Despite being the VHL's favourite punching bag, the Dynamo, who last tasted success a season after the Americans were last relevant, are not quite as high (low?) on the all-time rankings. The finals drought is pretty close to the top, but the cup drought isn't actually the franchise's longest – that mark of 22 which was stopped by the S61 championship is the one New York has just overtaken. Possibly what makes the current drought more tragic is the total lack of hope the franchise seems to generate as even in that 22-season dry run Davos came within a win of the cup on two occasions, S50 and S56.

But we need to start earlier. To understand how far the Dynamo fell, you have to understand where they started from. A personal project of league commissioner and then-GM Scotty Campbell, the franchise moved to Switzerland in S11 and promptly won the Continental Cup in their first season there. Another cup followed in S13, then they lost their way a bit, but rebounded very impressively in the “Kanou era” - 7 consecutive playoff appearances, 3 championships from S19 to S25. Six more finals appearances followed, including a league record-tying four straight from S36 to S39, winning three, which meant the first 30 seasons of VHL hockey in Davos closed with 8 cups, an average of one every four seasons. If the Dynamo were contending, you could bet they were winning something along the line.

For me, that's the main reason why Davos' fall hits harder (that and the fact I was their GM during that last truly good run from S36 to S39). Yes the Americans' peak was also extremely high, but they started from a low point so have just come back to where they were. The Dynamo were relentless and that makes the last 30+ seasons especially jarring (they're still one of just 3 franchises with 10 or more Continental Cups, Seattle and Helsinki leading the way with 11). When it comes down to who's had a more miserable run in the last 15 seasons though, I think we'd be splitting hairs between New York and Davos.

    Calgary Wranglers

    wwsfEuV.png

14 seasons since last Continental Cup (S62)

Out of the darkness and into a little bit of hope now. The last two teams to feature in this article don't have it quite as bad, but a slightly vicious cycle does appear to be starting out. Calgary's story is not too dissimilar to Davos, being the dominant team of the league's first 30 seasons (so the Dynamo but 10 seasons older). Big victories dried up after that, but the Wranglers continued to be involved amongst the contenders and the general goodwill towards the team is evidenced by them taking Stockholm's roster but keeping the name during contraction in S57. Like Davos also, Calgary's longest drought isn't their current one (that one ended in S62) but there's a concerning streak of bad luck since.

The immediate successors to the S62 cup winners were not a particularly legendary core (Brick Wahl, Diljodh Starload, Roll Fizzlebeef, etc), peaking with a conference final in S68. But the quick retool after that paid dividends and the Lafontaine/Encarnacion/Lahtinen/Jubis/Rice era probably deserved better. Their best came in the finals appearance in S72 and then they were unlucky to drop a 3-1 lead to Seattle in an epic conference final in S73. Although it looks like a rebuild/retool is in the works now, the Wranglers were Victory Cup winners as recently as S75 – this is clearly not yet the streak of playoff misses and first-round exits that New York and Davos have gone through in the same period. But the clock is ticking and expectations for Calgary's new GM @Ricer13 will be to stop the rot before they too become the laughing stock of the league.

    Toronto Legion

    EHYvBIm.png

11 seasons since last Continental Cup and last finals appearance (S65)

The last team to feature in this article probably has the least cause for concern. Unlike the extremely high highs and the extremely low lows experienced by the other franchises, the Legion have been here before. In fact, they seem to cherish the opportunity to go from a superb season to a really bad season (just check the records for the best and worst season of all time) on the regular.

The current 11-season drought is Toronto's 4th entry on the cup drought list - they've gone through slumps of 10, 11, and 13 seasons before, which would suggest a breakthrough is around the corner. In fact, the last two droughts ended in the threepeat (S48-S50) and then the next one in back-to-back wins in S64 and S65. Current management has spent most of their time dealing with the fallout of trying to repeat that most recent success, but it appears that there is light at the end of the tunnel, this season's drama and trading of John Merrick and Leo Strauss notwithstanding. The Legion have been here before... now if we come back to this list in 10 seasons and they still haven't won the cup, there might be cause for concern.

10/10 Really good information for someone like me who is very new to this league and well formatted

VHLM Roundup Week #6 By Lilpfigher

Welcome to this weeks VHLM roundup! And this will also be a brand new 2000 word edition so we will be able to cover so much more so grab some popcorn and a caprisun and jump into it.

In the playoff front the Storm have swept the lynx. The rush also defeated the marauders in 7 games but now on to the one we have all been waiting for the Bulls vs the reapers and the Bulls won. Moving onto the semifinals we have the Storm taking on the Kings and the Bulls taking on the Rush, Do you think the underdog rush will give the Bulls a run for there money? And for the Storm series it will more than likely go to a game seven as two very good teams going up against each other will be a battle, I think it will come down to who strikes first to get the momentum going on there side but we will see soon enough.

Onto the +/- odds I say we can list the Bulls at +2200 and the Rush at 0. Then we move onto the Storm and Kings where the Storm will be at +550 and the Kings at +450.

This week the VHLM fantasy zone wrapped up this season had a nice run and we all know I only won 1 TPE from it but ummm last times the charm right? That saying exists? Totally, Totally.

    Onto trade reports
Since the start of the playoffs no trades have happened as the trade deadline is among us but the most recent before that is on February 15th where we saw a trade with Mexico and Halifax sending  a 7th round pick to the 21st in exchange for Baldur Poulsen.

    S77 Predictions.
I am putting Miami +3000 to win it all next season, I was wrong here but here we go again.
For the VHL I put Helsinki in favor to win the cup, No big odds for there yet but next season there will be a VHL and a VHLM roundup.

And now the semifinals just came out and it will be Mexico vs Houston in the finals. The Rush and Storm both got swept but hey my odds were right for the bulls and dang straight for the rush, Although it would have been nice to see the Rush move on deeper into the playoffs they went farther then I would have expected. From VHLM roundup for all the teams, Good luck to those moving up next season and now lets move onto the odds for the finals.

    Game-1, HOU wins 4-3 in a SO
Game 2- MEX wins 6-0 Regulation win after doing a major line shuffle.
Game 3- MEX wins 1-0 in OT
Game 4 Houston will bounce back in the 3rd from 3-1 and win 4-3 in regulation.
Game-5 Houston puts on the pressure to Mexico with a 3-2 win.
Game 6 Houston ends the series in a shootout 5-4

Sadly I cant officially  do a fantasy for this but please tell me your predictions with your review, Winner gets a shoutout in the VHL roundup.

    Moving onto season highlights

When Miami moved up to get into the playoffs a true moment of skill.
The battle between the rush and Miami this season was something else, great to see them compete and this could line up for our new VHLM rival series.

    GM front VHL + VHLM
Calgary will be receiving Ricer as there new GM next season, As a former marauder I would like to thank you for all the great things you have done for Miami and I wish you luck in the big leagues!
But that also means a new VHLM GM spot will be opening soon so get ready to go if you want to be a GM of such a great community and LR.
Also a VHL AGM spot will be opening as the Helsinki AGM will be resigning at the end of the season so please keep your eyes open for that! P.S That's where I am (;.
But to all these great GMs and AGMS and GMs and AGMS to be great luck and lets see some great things come out of these teams!
The world cup is also hiring GMs! Go ahead and put your name in for a shot to bulk up that resume!

Now onto the game we have all been waiting for... Team Canada vs Team USA. We will have the neighbors battling each other, Winner take all match. In the first period Canada will strike 2 min in to aim the pressure on the US but then the US will bounce back in 10 min to score 2 to put Canada back on there heels, Then that will conclude the first period with a score of 2-1 for the Americans. Now we are starting the second period and then just 10 seconds in Canada strikes to tie it up off of a deflection goal. But then in a 5 min span the USA goes to strike twice and then there is a goaltending change, But don't let that get you thrown off, We are down to 0.50 left on the clock, Canada is winning 5-4 now but then the hit happens, Sending the Canadian star player Green Gaming into the boards and it ends up breaking his collarbone. The American goon is thrown out of the game and giving a major for boarding. They end up finishing the period then and going into a half hour intermission. When they come back, USA starts shorthanded and Canada scores 2 goals putting the USA way back onto there heals and that's the scoring for the game, Canada beats the USA! Now we are post game and Canada is going to take there team photo, But the assistant captain goes into the locker room to bring out a little surprise for the team photo! A trash can with the USA logo slapped onto it.
I hope you enjoyed a little breakdown of what I think will happen in the WJC, Let me know if you want to see this part again.

So happy Friday I dream to finish this today but we also just lost a hockey ledged. Walter Gretzky has passed away at the young age of 82. I hope the best for them and he will truly be missed here in the hockey community. It was a pleasure to meet you in person you were an amazing guy so rest in peace. RIP.

    Now onto the victory pro-am!
I am proud to be a GM there for the Montreal Bagels.
The draft there is currently underway with team 4 going first overall in the draft.
This should be a very exited tournament to go on and am very exited to see the turnouts!  (lets go team 1/bagels)
    ==================================================================================================
Now onto some very very very hot takes, Don't get burned!

So I say that the Storm will go and loose each game they play but get 20 OTL. Owwww that burned call a medic.
Next up we have Miami with a perfect record, No losses, No OTL. That take burned me hard let me go get a fire extinguisher because my hands on FIREE.
Okay, I'm back from being lit on fire and now its time to dew it again and I say there is a few blockbuster trades this off-season with some of the best being moved. Alright, Who put a ice cube on my hand because this is a ice take not a hot take. Boooooo.
Alright time for a fire take. There will a thousand goals scored next season, Its possible just have a few well super blowout games and we should be fine, Heh just a 501-499 game will work, Its not that hard? Righttttt yeah totally.
Next off we have that the rush will finish second in there division, May not be a long shot but after loosing in the playoffs it can really take huge toll on the players willpower and just to want to light the lamp. Id say a lot of there players are going to be asking for trades if they are still with the rush next season because they wont want to be there anymore it will just be depressing to them but the rush have great management so we will see.
The second to last hot take we will visit is that the Helsinki Titans will play this season without a AGM. I say this because there AGM just stepped down and there has been not a big hunt going on for one so it may be just the GM this season but it will be a good one. This may be bias but Helsinki is a great place to be, The locker room is amazing so yeah.
Here we go the final hot take of the article! I say that the Mexico City kings will win the cup in the upcoming season, I say that because they have gone deep this season and really have the talent to do great things so without a doubt this could happen!
    ====================================================================================================

Thank you all very much for tuning into this special edition of VHLM roundup! There was a bit of VHL roundup in here but hey we got what we came for! Please leave a comment on this saying if you would like to see more and if you enjoyed it! So now lets hit the end line!
This has been your VHLM roundup!

    Word count-2001

    Claiming week 3/7/2021-3/28/2021

8/10 i really like the effort you put into this, and im really looking forward to the next weeks roundup.

    AGM edition!

    1. We are CRUISING through the playoffs, however we are at the final destination as we all expected. The finals against Houston. We are currently at 1 win and 1 loss so far, what do you think we need to approve based on the first two games?

    2. How has your player done so far in the playoffs in your eyes?

    3. With Hylands departure soon and the newly appointed GM being @Advantage, what is one thing you hopes stays the same and what is one thing you hope Advantage looks into to change/adjust?

    4. In one sentence, what would you want to say to @Hylandsbefore he goes off to Malmo?

    5. What is your go-to snack when watching a movie?

    6. If there was one place you'd want to see an expansion team move to, where would it be and what would it's name be?

Hype the locker room up as much as possible

    2. How has your player done so far in the playoffs in your eyes?

BAD, at this time ive only generated 4 points in 12 games, if i dont step my game up i will probably stay in the VHLM another season.

Theres a very good chance im not playing in Mexico next season, so i have no say in this.

My thoughts on the top 10 players by TPE in the upcoming draft

    1.       Reylynn Reinhart @Ricer13

I really like Ricer and with the intensive effort they put into the league that I think they will be a solid pick up to anyone so far. I think that Ricer could be a huge input to a team, if they can sign him for life the team that drafts Ricer will get an incredible player. As long as there is nothing behind closed doors, I think will easily be a great first overall pick.

    2.       Zeedayno Chara @Jubis

Jubis is a great member the only reason I could see them dropping in the draft is the recent decision to step down. Some people might think of this as a potential for him to move away from the league. I think Jubis is a great pick up as well but I am sure everyone knows that.

    3.       Rolf Fizzlebeef Jr @TacticalHammer

With full 12 affiliate welfare what else could you ask for a player. They will cap without any effort and as long as they stick around you will have a great player. I do not know much about Tac but don’t expect them to fall in this draft at all.

    4.       Jan Hlozek @Bojovnik

FIRST GEN ALERT. Could this player hit the top of the first gens. Getting a HUGE 32 TPE last week you would think that they will be around for the long haul but do you take the risk on the first gen or go the safer route with a more known person. I expect them to stay top 5 hopefully.

    5.       Nixon Caldwell @Kendrick

I hope that Kendrick stays Humble, because if they stick to their Element that they could come out to be the King (Kunta) of this draft class. I believe that greatness is truly in their DNA.

    6.       The Loch Ness Monster @LuluSalesAway

FIRST GEN ALERT. The Loch Ness Monster is a scary creature that is rarely seen. Hopefully this doesn’t apply to this new player. I want to see the Loch Ness Monster succeed and succeed big. I want to see their name in lights and in the HoF. Could this be the highest drafted urban legend ever?

    7.       Gustislav Nasherov @Vat

0/10 name is too close to Gustav for my liking and also seems to be a fan of the youtuber Nasher61

    8.       Joe Madison @Brewins15

I believe Brewins was a player when I was in Mississauga as a GM or AGM. I wish them the best and think that they could go up the rankings a bit. I really should have done more research for this article.

    9.       Kirby Pandora @PandaBearD25

FIRST GEN ALERT. I have spoken to Panda once I believe and asked if they liked the song Panda, they said yes. They deserve to go high in this draft!!!

    10.   Declan Wolf @MrShark

FIRST GEN ALERT. Daddy Shark dodo doo doo doo dododo!!! I already hit the wordcount sorry Mr Shark man.

Best of luck to all the draftees and hopefully you are lucky enough to go to a team that wins the cup in the next few seasons!

    *sad Gustislav Nasherov noises*

  17. After spending some time in the VHLM it's finally time for the notorious playoffs.  Since I joined mid-season these will probably be my last games with the Mexico city kings, I'm going to be drafted into the VHLm and Mexico has virtually no 1st round picks, so I won't be able to stay there😢.

This is the first time I will be participating in a playoff tournament because this is my first time in the playoffs I have actually completed as many capped tpe tasks (besides press conference and trivia), so I am hoping that the updaters will give me my tpe so that I can apply them before the games start.  After my tpe has gotten approved I will have 140 tpe which is a big power up for the playoffs.

I am hoping for the best this playoffs and I think we can go really far if we find a way to take down Houston, Houston has been atop of the standings the whole season.  I would say that if we are able to win over Houston we got a big chance to win the playoffs and take home the cup to motherland Mexico.  A playoff win with Mexico would be very convenient because it would be my first cup, Hylands and Juice will be leaving Mexico for Malmö.  So it will be a memorable goodbye.

  18. After starting my first player in the vhl I have made many mistakes and learned stuff I have also done things which I am pretty proud of.  So to pull a hard flex of my 4-5 weeks of experience I will try to explain stuff for people that may have just started their career.

    WELFARE

At the beginning of a player career, you will read the rules and try to get a general understanding of what to do.  After I read it I got the understanding that tpe is good and you want as much of it as possible, I saw that you could claim it from the "my player" tab.  After pressing around the tab I found a button which was welfare, for a newbie like I was then it was very tempting because it was fast and easy tpe.  After being offered a contract and accepting it I got some help from an AGM which guided me through tpe.  After some explaining later I got to understand the dangerous yet tempting welfare button which gave you easy tpe but you couldn't claim max capped tpe, I was lucky because this was on a Saturday night and I didn't have to wait a full week to utilize the max potential of capped tpe.  So the underline for welfare is, Welfare sucks if you are planning to claim maxed capped tpe, but is good if you don't have the time to write for example media spot where you earn 6 capped tpe.  Note that welfare cuts your max capped tpe per week down to 10 instead of 12.

    PRACTICE FACILITY

You could say practice facility is the nice version of Welfare,  you get the same amount of tpe, your capped tpe limit isn't reduced and it's uncapped which leaves more capped tp for your player to earn thus makes him better.  There is no reason whatsoever to not claim practice facility because it the most accessible and easiest way to earn tpe.

    CAPPED TPE

Capped tpe is the Jesus of VHL.  Capped tpe is the best way to get tpe as you can earn up to 12 tpe per week from it.  Capped tpe is also the main source of tpe the whole league uses, if you claim max capped tpe per week every week you will produce a lot of points and will be drafted highly.  The biggest mistake a new person who is looking to be active makes is claiming the welfare option as it reduces the max capped tpe you can earn in a week.  Capped tpe lets you do tasks such as media spots, trivia, press conferences, articles, podcasts or writing reviews.  These are only some of the many ways to earn capped tpe.  As you can earn at max of 12 capped tpe per week you will be drafted highly if you average 12 capped tpe per week.

    UNCAPPED TPE

Uncapped tpe is like capped tpe but there is no consistent way of earning it week to week.  There is nothing bad about uncapped tpe but as I said there is no way to get tpe from it every week.  Although there is no consistent way to earn uncapped tpe there are events like for example the theme week last week.  In that event, you earned an extra 6 uncapped tpe from media spots, since it was uncapped tpe you could earn the usual 12 capped tpe from the week which allowed many layers to earn up to 18 tpe 1 week which for me a fairly new player was very generous because it allowed me to get more into the league thus making me get more points per sim instead of just getting a point after 1 or 2 sims.  There is another way to claim uncapped tpe which is the first-gen bonus which allows a fairly new player like me to get into the league by giving players who passed 100 tpe a free 10 uncapped tpe, I recently claimed this which gave me 10 tpe to apply which I did today so I am hoping for some points today, especially if I can get my capped tpe from other tasks I've done.

    SPENDING TPE

Now that you have some tpe to spend you shouldn't just throw it out into the different categories.  Especially if you just started out, one category to avoid too 100% at the start is leadership. If you just started out you should avoid it at all costs because it is meant for captains and if you just started out you will not be a captain and the points you could have spent on that you could've spent on for example passing or scoring to help your team perform better.  If you are unsure on what to use your tpe for you should ask the "newcomers help" channel in the discord, I started out my tpe spending there and got some advice from nice players, I would recommend spreading your tpe throughout defense, scoring, passing, puck handling and skating.  This is what I'm doing and for my first 60 games, I've got 16 points and +13  +/-.  This does not mean that you will get the same exact results as I have, you may get worse results or even better results.

    THE DRAFT

Depending on when you join the league you will get drafted or not, since I joined mid-season I have not got drafted and I will next season.  After accumulating 250 tpe you will be forced to move up to the VHL where you can get drafted by different teams and such, one thing I like with this league is that there are draft interviews where you can basically choose where you want and don't want to end up, for example, I don't want to get drafted by a special team so if I get an interview by them I will say that I don't want to get drafted to them because in my case they are rivals to the team I actually support IRL.

The Loch Ness Monster and the Dreaded Camping Trip with the San Diego Marlins

The Loch Ness Monster has always been somewhat of a loner. With her family dead for 180 million years and her deep disgust for human beings, it had been a long time since she traveled or went on vacation with anyone. Towards the end of Nessie’s first season playing in the VHL for the San Diego Marlins, the General Manger @thadthrasher and Assistant to the General Manager @Spence King told the team that there would be a trip, that there would be bonding, and Nessie would have to go. Nessie hated this idea and dreaded the week ahead of her.

What did the management have planned for the team you ask? A camping trip. The San Diego Marlins were going to be spending a whole week together, off grid in the Rocky Mountains in the middle of winter. Nessie liked the idea of seclusion, but then remembering her teammates would be there day and night, she returned to her state of despair. Now Nessie’s hatred for humans may seem harsh, but she felt as if they have always hated her. It was always one extreme or the other when it came to Nessie’s experience with people in the Scottish Highlands; they either called her a fake or tried to stalk, hunt, and put her head on a stake. But because Nessie loved hockey more than anything else in the world, she decided to put up with her teammates, cause no fish species, fellow cryptic, or other creature was as good at playing hockey as human beings (and plesiosauruses of course).

The first day of the trip went just as Nessie had expected in would go, terribly. When the team arrived at the campsite, everyone was excited to see it was located next to a spring, a hot spring. Nessie was unable to go swimming for fear of being boiled and cooked alive. Then when it came time to set up the tents, none were big enough for Nessie, she felt excluded and shammed for her thicc beautiful blubber. Then someone decided to document the first night of the trip with a candied photograph of the group, triggering Nessie as she remembered all those countless stalkers of hers, trying to photograph her in her own home. And to top it all off @Eldredman kept bugging everyone to play D&D with him, which everyone, not just Nessie, thought was super lame.

The following four days went just like the first, a lot of activities that excluded Nessie due to her size, her fish like body, and her own stubbornness. But on the fifth day everything changed between Nessie and the rest of the San Diego Marlins. A major snowstorm was approaching on the radar, the food supply was low, and @Justin Burg was missing. Nessie was sent out on the search party to help look for @Justin Burg and because of her absurdly long neck she discovered him laying on top of a frozen pond looking for turtles (the only thing he loves more than hockey). As the team rushed forward to tell him about the snow storm the ice beneath their feet cracked and they plummeted into the Icey waters.

Without thinking, Nessie flopped into the lake, rescued her teammates, and decided to catch some fish to replenish the food supply. She then carried her shivering shocked teammates back to camp on her back. Around the campfire that night, the truth came out. Nessie’s teammates told her that they were skeptical of playing hockey with a plesiosaurus, and that they didn’t really think she could make it on their team. But one by one her teammates looked into Nessie’s gigantic buggy eyes and said, “but now, I believe in The Loch Ness Monster”. That was the night that The Loch Ness Monster decided to stop being a loner, and to start being a team player.
