VHL Banner Competition

Hello VHL!

 

As many of you already know, our League's Banner is pretty outdated. The theme looks beautiful, and the banner is great, but with the retraction of the Stockholm Vikings (as well as the Cologne Express), we have the distinct pleasure of seeing a defunct logo each time we log into the site! In an endeavour to find a replacement banner that best represents the league, your benevolent Supreme Leader has decided that you, the wonderful VHL user base, shall be the given the opportunity to create a new League Banner!

 

Starting today, we will be taking submissions for a new banner, that we can put up with pride for all to see when they visit our corner of the internet! With the long weekend coming up, submissions will be accepted until SUNDAY AUGUST 12TH @ 6PM EDT. All who wish to participate are free to enter, and, in fact, are encouraged to do so, as there are benefits just for entering!

 

Here are the contest rules and criteria:

• All submissions must be sent to me, through PM, so that I can set up a blind vote when voting begins.
• Banner submission must fit with our current VHL Black theme
• Banner width must be between 900 and 975 px (Current banner is 960 px)
• Banner height must be between 175 and 300 px (Current banner is 215 px)
• Cannot display any non-VHL logo (Official VHL Logos, pre-cut and ready for use, can be found HERE)
• Users can make multiple banner submissions, but only 1 will be eligible to receive uncapped TPE (In the event that 2 submissions from one poster finish in the top 3, we will bump up the submission next highest number of votes to receive that prize - if a second bump up is needed, the same process will be used to fill the 3rd place finish)
• Submissions in this contest may be used as a Point Task, after voting has concluded (in order to maintain a blind vote - any banner submissions that are posted in the forums will be deleted until voting has concluded), through the week ending September 9th
• Submissions that do not meet the criteria will not be eligible for uncapped TPE.

 

Of course, you cannot have a contest without prizes, and here they are:

• First Place: 8 Uncapped TPE
• Second Place: 6 Uncapped TPE
• Third Place: 4 Uncapped TPE
• All other contestants: 2 Uncapped TPE

 

So there it is, the VHL Banner Competition in all its glory! Go forth my minions, and put together your submission in order to collect some juicy uncapped TPE! Have fun, be creative, and enjoy the process, because it could be your banner flying high and representing the Democratic People's Republic of Victory Hockey in short order!

UPDATE: With the lack of entries, the deadline for submissions has been pushed to SUNDAY AUGUST 12TH @ 6PM EDT. Get something that meets the criteria in by that time, and you are eligible for at least 2 uncapped TPE, as well as use for a point task.

Pure speculation but I'm guessing Quik didn't want put the first one in cause the vote was supposed to be anonymous, plus i thought i remembered reading that you were going to do another one?

 

Can you re-post though? I might try to use it on the Portal, I liked it.
