1. Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen won the Brett Slobodzian Trophy in S70, followed shortly by Condor Adrienne in S72. When was the last defenceman winner of the trophy before Smitty? (Credit and 1 uncapped TPE to @flyersfan1453)

Smitty and Adrienne have really made this achievement less. In the 69 seasons before Smitty (or 59 of the Slobo Trophy), only 5 defencemen were voted the best in a particular season and the last time it had happened it was in S54, Guntis Petenis producing an all-around display for the ages for playoff bubble team Riga. 

 

2. Which GM has won the most David Knight Trophies? (Credit and 1 uncapped TPE to @Beketov)

20 GMs have been crowned best in a season more than once - of these, 8 have claimed the trophy thrice or more. Chris Miller aka Advantage leads the way with 6, winning the award during his stints with New York in the 30s and 40s, Stockholm in the 50s, and most recently with Malmo after their run to the finals in S68 in their 3rd season of existence.
